for some reason doesnt work :S

i put the tag mention but members told me that no notification recieved..

version. 4.1.19.4

Hey, if possible could you try these:

- Make sure the members in that group can read the topic (permissions)

- Disable any other plugins.

The plugin was developed on 4.1.19.4 so it should normally work. If you can't get it working, please PM me your ACP details and I can take a look.

This is a great app that should be inserted into ipb core

However it would be great if you could make it more esthetic like a way to be able to @ a group

I could perhaps add it as a feature update. would using # instead of @ also work for you?

I have version ipb 4.2. Enabled in adminCP, but I can't get this to work. Using @ + group name. No dice. Any suggestions?

Already answered via PM but Also posting it here so others who experience the same can see it.

You have to select the groups from the box below the comment field. Look at the screenshots for an example.

Dang. I notice now that the mention is a link that presumably lists the members of the mentioned group (which would be handy).

If I mention a group with  ID=9, the link is constructed as follows, which returns no results.

https://www.example.com/search/?type=core_members&group%5B9%5D=1

Works good and very useful.

Is there a way to style the resulting mention? I'd love it to match the core-style mentions.

(Would LOVE to have it as an editor button somehow, someday :p)

Thanks for the feedback! By default it uses the group color but if you want to customize that you can try to use the groupid field.

Example for group with ID 9:

[data-groupid='9'] {
  background-color: red;
  color: blue;
}

Replace the css code above with the code for the default mention. Hope it helps!

Hmm odd, it works for me on a clean install. Could you try it like this and see if that works?

https://www.example.com/search/?type=core_members&group[9]=1

Regrettably returns no results  :( But aha! What is probably relevant is that the group I need this for (officers & board) is a secondary group.  For what it's worth I'm not able to construct a successful secondary group query using the front end Advanced Search either.

A successful query in the ACP looks like so:

https://www.example.com/admin/?adsess=blahblahsessioninfo&app=core&module=members&controller=members&advanced_search_submitted=1&members_member_group_id=9&noColumn=1&csrfKey=blahblahcsrfkeyinfo

Bit late reply (seem to have missed the notification). But have you checked this setting?

I just bought this and have it installed but cannot figure out how to use it at all...

@kRSB

Hey Vintage, you can select groups to mention in the editor (for replies, topics, etc). See screenshot below for example.

Hope it helps!

Revisiting in case there is any advance on the ability to style group mentions. Ideally, having them use the theme default or even a unique class that could be styled by custom.css?

Not sure if I understand correctly but do you mean to style all the groups in the same color?

For individual:

Example for group with ID 9:

[data-groupid='9'] {
  background-color: red;
  color: blue;
}

I've just upgraded to 4.3.  Is an updated version for 4.3 necessary and, if so, any ETA?  The current version of GM seems to be working fine on my install, but just wondering...

Hey,

I haven't done a complete test on 4.3 yet. I will be doing this shorty but I don't think an update will be required and if so it won't take longer than a week :)
