  1. Another option might be: This would put known bots (like Googlebot, etc) into a specific group that you create. That group can have signatures disabled for them. Just trying to think a bit outside of the box here. 🙂
  2. IPS does not identify human vs bot, so unfortunately I don't think you can do it for just bots. You can however turn signatures off for guests... since most bots should be guests, this might work for you. ACP > Members > Member Settings > Profiles > Profile Settings
  3. Troubleshooting custom themes is not directly supported by IPS. They're not going to assist with creating themes or figuring out why you can't copy/paste code around to different areas of the core software. (I have a few things I would like to do as well, but alas... it's on me. haha)
  4. I've not said you should not improve the user experience at all. What I'm saying to be abundantly clear... Spend the MAJORITY of your time on good content. Spend SOME time making your site perform better. Again... content is king Too many people here focus on the pennies instead of the dollars.
  5. Does this happen when using the default theme?
  6. Given that a user chose to unsubscribe, it would be a change (not something broken) to add an ability to change their mind.
  7. Can one of you with a site issue where it can be duplicated make a default theme available to guests? That might help show if this is a problem with the Rene or happening in the stock software.
  8. I literally made it up. I was using it as an example to illustrate the message that you spend time on the things that have more weighting/importance. Google has clearly said that content matters more than speed... but not to totally ignore speed either.
  9. By the way... here's a good read: https://www.perficient.com/insights/research-hub/impact-of-core-web-vitals-on-ranking It matters for SEO/ranking, but it's not as big as some people make it out to be. So... if we say content is worth like 80% and performance is worth like 20%... personally I would be spending my time on where the most weight is at. 🙂
  10. Rather than looking at them as there is a difference between 85 and 86… look at them more as a pass/fail. They help you figure out where you can improve. If you have a HORRIBLE score, yes you will be penalized. But for example in the two screenshots above, it won’t change the ranking.
  11. If you did not reinstall each app, its possible that it was just the last one you removed was the culprit and not each of the apps. As a test, you could try reinstalling for example the first one. If it does not cause problems, you have your answer. 🙂
  12. While not a solution to registering, there is a nice plugin to help end users manage having multiple accounts on gaming communities:
  13. OK. When you’re using PHP8, have you made sure that PHP8 install has all of the modules required for IPB? Run that script when using PHP8.
  14. While I would highly recommend getting to the bottom of your PHP setup, there is another option to change the memory limit POTENTIALLY. If your server config allows it, you can try adding the following entry to your .htaccess file: php_value memory_limit 256M If your server allows overrides, this might work.
  15. The phpinfo should say something like: In this case, you should be editing /etc/php.ini In addition to that file, there are additional files that are processed inside of the /etc/php.d folder. I'm not sure how your PHP setup would be loading something domain specific for it's master config file, but that's something that would need to be fixed by your host or by your server admin.
  16. The default software does not allow this. You have to upload it from the local device. You cannot link or import from an external source.
  17. A couple of notes… are you editing the right php.ini? Check your phpinfo output for what is actually being processed by scripts. Do you have any other INI file being loaded setting memory limits? (such as inside a conf.d folder)
  18. It looks like the default English language strings were changed to have the word "All" included for report status. I assume this was done with the latest release to support filtering reports, but it causes problems when viewing the report itself.
  19. They were split to a new topic. 🙂
  20. This would be great feedback to share in the feature request forum to make sure it is not lost. 🙂 https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/499-feature-suggestions/
  21. What error are you getting when trying to access the ACP? Have you tried using Recovery Mode? Once you set your constants file, clear your browser cache (to make sure you don't have an active ACP session) or just use a different browser. Login to ACP. It will run through a process to disable anything in the ACP that might be messing things up. Once done, it will tell you to remove the constants.php variable. You should have access to ACP again and can re-enable plugins, themes, etc one at a time.
  22. Why are you running the converter instead of the upgrader? Edit your conf_global.php to point to the 3.x version, and then go to domain.com/admin/upgrade and let it work through your upgrade. MAKE A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE BEFORE YOU DO THIS.
  23. Look in the spam defense logs. If his IP or email has a bad score, even if HE is human… his IP or email may have been flagged as bad. You would need to whitelist him in order to register.
  24. Check the ownership of the files. If it has a different owner or group, that could be part of the problem. In reality... the datastore contents can be dynamically generated. So technically you could even just delete it and IPB would just create it again.
