ImpartialGeek Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 I already have SuperGrid, and would like to get this new one as well, but I just cannot seem to figure out how these work. I cannot find good documentation on how to set them up anywhere. Can you provide anything? I would really like to set my site up to look this good.

That already works nicely. Images declared in the CSS will mean it takes longer for the browser to parse the CSS file delaying the loading of the visible page. If they were img src tags the requests would be made as the HTML is parsed so the visible page can load earlier. Why do you say they don't slow down rendering?

Edit: just found example of lazy loading background images https://toad.js.org/ Edited May 14, 2019 by asigno

There are several calls and SuperBlocks doesn’t add any new calls since the CSS is merged in. So again, the page rendering start is completely unaffected. That was my point from the beginning. In either case: yes, I have considered and tested all available options of how images can potentially be displayed and there are no plans to make any changes to SuperBlocks, SuperGrid and all my other templates using background images. Sonya* Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Hi, I am using latest IPS version and latest version of SuperBlocks. I have tried to add a block for the clubs, but I get a template error. Running support tool does not help. All other blocks work as desired. Sonya

Sonya* Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Hmmm, I have the error only on my test server. I have just tried to create a block on the live server and there is no issue there. I do not know why, I will investigate further.
Sonya* Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Another question: is it right, that the clubs block does not use the clubs cover or icon? I have only club name, description (if any), date of last activity, clubs owner name and number of members (if open)

It uses the header image if there is one, since it is picture-based like a newspaper/magazine homepage. You can check it out on the demo page: https://www.opentype.space/superblocks/ Edited May 21, 2019 by opentype
Sonya* Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Thank you! I have figured out, that it uses picture only if uploaded, but not the club image by default used for the clubs cards.
SRFA Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 (edited) Hi, I have a pre-sales question (sorry if it isn't the right place.) I have several Pages databases, each of them with several categories. Let's say database A with categories A1 and A2 and database B with categories B1, B2 and B3. Can I set up a single SuperBlock to include only some categories of several databases, like the latest entries of a A1+B2+B3, for instance? Thank you for your answer! Edit. Nevermind, I figured it out by myself. Since SuperBlocks is a set of templates for existing blocks, I understand this is an IPS related question, not a question related to your product. Great product anyway! Edited May 31, 2019 by SRFA
Steph Jensen Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Can i use superblocks for to create a block with a feed from "our picks" ?

Thanks @opentype I want to create a blog feed but somehow limit it to filter the posts that get listed so that i (or a team of editors) can decide what posts should be listed. Do you have any ideas/tips to create such a feed?

I think you have to mark your blog post through something like “featuringing”. Then you can create a SuperBlocks block than only shows featured blog entries.
