Hi In previous versions you could use the forbidden characters ([] |, $ <> ") in the display name , but in the latest 3.0 RC2 is not allowed. In the final version will be possible to use them? Also I have two more question, what is the reason for those characters to be invalid? and why you store in the database those characters in html? Using addslashes you can store them in plain text Greetings, Miguel

My Control Panel says: Displays the last 10 status updates from members But my forum is showing around 30 different status updates for members. I'd like to reduce this back down to 10 as advertised.

hello, if you release any patch update then please post it manulay too because many mods installed on boards then how can users overwrite the original files ? another suggestion in IPB3 will click on show all emotion the box will appear on right side there have emotions. but there not any button of close please add it. thank you :thumbsup:

Are there any plans to add an 'activity feed' where you can see what people from your friends list have been up to on the site - showing a summary of threads, posts, blogs, images, comments and anything else that they've posted or been involved in. For example: Friend 1 commented on Member 2's picture: Me in Spain Friend 3 posted a new thread: Eminem Fans! Friend 5 posted a new blog: My boring life Friend 8 replied to thread: I like fraggles Friend 10 scored XXXXX playing Space Invaders in arcade (If IBPro is installed) On some community sites people tend to get involved in the things that friends are discussing or playing I find.

A lot of peoples still post something like "I get IPS Driver Error doing that, how can i solve it?" And then every time the answer is "Look for the real error saved in a cgi file in the cache folder". If that error is going to be displayed in that same way also in IPB 3 i suggest you to add a small line below it like "Real error is hidden for security purpose, to see it check the cgi file in the cache folder" or something similar anyway. That should stop a lot of useless topics with "IPS Driver Error" as title :rolleyes:

Do perpetual licensees not get access to the peer-to-peer board? I was under the impression that we simply couldn't get support from IPS if we didn't renew our license, not that we couldn't get any support at all. I've got a perpetual license bound to my account, if you need to check.

When I enter Guidelines into the text editor, all new-lines get removed - although Guidelines page of board itself shows the text as it should. In short, I lose my original edit, which is frustrating...

I think it would be nice to have some default pre-determined banner locations put into the templates for users who are not all that code savvy. Also, one thing that I would also like to see is integrated adsense in the software that would allow you to choose different options of displaying adsense without going into the templates and making all sorts of changes. What do you think?

I just wanted to say Great work on IPB so far guys! I really like it, and I realize that 3.0 isn't even out yet, but there are a couple things that I think you could've included, which vB has had at least since vB3... It makes me contemplate really going with vB (I just don't like the look of vB4) 1) Hover over topic title gives preview of content 2) Topic Prefixes!!!! I love the dynamic search of the ACP but I just spent 15 minutes trying to find where the setting for the personal photo was. Doing a search in the ACP did not bring the result for the user groups/global where it is really hidden at the bottom of the page. May I recommend adding Personal Photo to when someone does a search for PHOTO in the ACP search results.

When did showing the member's "Interests" get added to Topic view (i.e. when you're viewing a topic in the left hand column you can see the person's name, their avatar, where they're from etc). I'm sure it wasn't there before RC2 - and adding it is really blowing my screen out on my test board. Many of my members have written *a lot* in that field, and so showing that every time one of those people posts the screen looks frankly ridiculous. I know I can take it out again by editing the skin, but I was kind of trying to avoid having to edit anything other than logos when we change to the new version as it makes upgrading so much easier! :)

checked the tracker, but didn't see anything. i upgraded yesterday and since then there's zero reported posts, but I've reported to it 3 times with different accounts and there's no indication there's anything wrong. no errors. the process goes as expected the whole way.

In my opinion, the Lofi skin is useless without topis markers. Todays mobile devices can handel the images. Please consider putting them back.
