We can set the "default sort" of topic replies (newest first / oldest first) per forum setting. But a lot of members asked for a "per user setting" - so all users can set up the method to show the replies (newest/oldest first) itself.

Apparently BBcode does not get parsed in Profile Comments, and this is 'working as intended'. This is totally absurd to me. Why has BBcode not been allowed in Profile Comments whereas it's allowed most other places on the board?

I know we already have a feature to automatically merge two or more posts by the same user, which is toggled in the AdminCP. What I would really like to see is an option for a user to merge two or more of their own consecutive posts after the posts have been made. The automatic merging wasn't perfect because sometimes you wouldn't want to merge two posts. That may be why it isn't turned on here. But sometimes people may double posts without realizing it until the post has already been made, and it would be helpful for them to merge these posts when they choose to do so. How this would happen interface-wise I'm not sure, but it would be helpful.

Hi, Today I was making some tests with file upload and notice that the directories and files that are created have chmod 0777 coded directly. Since there are few different ways to setup a server and some don't need these permissions (I only use 750 or 770), these values can/should be modified in the ACP. Thanks

When I did a test conversion from vB3.8.4 to IPB 3.1 the passwords all appeared to get corrupted. Is this a converter issue and has it been fixed? I'm within weeks of moving our site over from vB and wanted some reassurance that my members will just be able to login using their usual password without having to request a reset. Thanks, Shaun :D

When attempting to use a dynamic URL such as: http://imgsrv.gocomics.com/dim/?fh=4f4efa4022df6e2fec302b4cf931e572&w=450.0 The image will appear in the preview, however, once the post is submitted, an error message is received because there's not a valid file extension associated with the link. The software needs to be modified so dynamic URLs can be used to link images. (And I still think this is a bug....) :P

Since moving to Invision from another major messageboard system (name withheld to protect the innocent ;) ) I've received nothing but courteous, helpful and fast replies to the many tickets I've created during my learning process. Since folks are sometimes faster to complain than to give props, I thought I'd take a second and do the latter. I'm glad I made the decision to move my group over to Invision. My Content should show all content. Limiting it to the past year means if you want to quickly get to all of your topics you have to go through too many steps. edit: wow... apparently you cna't get to a full list no matter what. That's a huge drawback to the new system. You've got to be able to find all topics and posts or it's a big step backware from 2.x. This is a huge problem for any site such as one I may soon make where a full search is useful.

I have always used code boxes for a number of things, whether it be to show coding, or using the code boxes for actual instruction (in a guide so it seperates them from the random talk you give in a guide) But this whole prettyprint colouring thing IMO looks really tacky and im currently doing everything i can think of to avoid using them Is there anychance of getting rid of it?

Is it just me who doesn't see the sense in "An Error Occurred" when there are no search results to return. It's not an error at all - it's just a lack of results. I just know some of my members are going to be freaked out by this and report it as a problem. Can't we have something like "No results found" instead? Perhaps with the advice to try again with different words / settings? Thanks, Shaun :D PS. Apologies if this has been mentioned/discussed before!!

Just wanted to publicly state how much I appreciate working with this outstanding software and it's producers! I have been in the forum world a long time and know a thing or two about building successful businesses around that genre and I must say, without hesitation, IPB 3.1 is the best piece of community software I have ever worked with. As some others have stated recently, it has inspired and excited me again and that's a big deal for someone who has been doing what I do for nearly 10 years! Backed up with world class support that would cost you an arm and a leg anywhere else and I just can't see why anyone would spend their hard earned dollars on anything else! K…

I think it would be a nice idea to be able to edit the furl for ipb itself and products through the admin panel. It would be ease of access instead of having to use ftp to find the certain files. I wasn't sure exactly where the furltemplates.php files were today so I did a search in my ftp program, I found them in the end but it brought up quite a few and I wasn't sure which one to edit. I think it would be nice to have a section for this in the admin panel with clear instructions on which is the core one, and which one is for 3rd party products. Kind Regards.

Hi, I have noticed that IPB v3.0.4 (ID:30011) opens internal (forum links) posted in a topic/post opens in the same window. It seems this also occurs on your board, I am thinking that this behaviour is the correct way to handle links. However a great part of my members are used to all links will open in a new window/tab. Is there a setting/option to force all (both internal and external) links to open in a new window/tab? I told my members to use the mousewheel/third mouse button, but thought I would ask here before they drive me crazy Option in ACP //-- Open posted links in a new window? When deleting all posts/topics of a member in the ACP, you are not returned to Members > Manage Members > Viewing Member. You're stuck in that confirmation screen which says, that all posts were deleted. This is very annoying, because the most common use case for deleting all posts of a member is to delete the member afterwards. But right now i have to go back to member control manually...

Pretty simple. It'd be nice for users who have been kicked to get a "you've been kicked" message. Right now, everything just stops responding, as if the chat has frozen up. Not good.
