I think it would be great if members could re-arrange the sidebar hooks for themselves. We could have it so that the admin can set certain sidebar hooks that cant be re-positioned, such as ads maybe, and then things like recent topics, blog entrys, status updates and so on, could be rearranged by each members to their personal order.

Can we have a voting system in place where the customers would vote on a wish list for future features in order of priority? The developers would then approve the new requests and deliver them at a specified time or explain why it can't be implemented etc. :rolleyes:

Iron It Out: I know that most of the staff on IP. don't like it when people try to ask what coming up, or what new, etc. But having a idea for the customer base to look at helps to see what in the future for IP and it products. Now, such a thing would be call, I dare say it, Roadmap. (A roadmap defines the proposed structure of the development.) Hello! I want to add some functionality in IPB\admin\applications\core\extensions\usercpForms.php. In function saveFormEmail(). I want to do: when user changes his email from IPB it automatically changes in my application. I done it with "changing of core" but it not acceptable for my employer. He need plugin for simple installation. Is it possible to do it with plugin or hook? Can you advice me any examples? Thx.

Since I transitioned to IPB from vBulletin, quite a few people have complained that the new software is hard to understand and buries its options in obscure places. I attributed many of these complaints to the adjustment phase -- everyone is used to the vB way of working -- and made minor tweaks and changes when comments made good sense. So, here's one very obvious problem. A member was complaining about search: there's no options to select specific forums, he said, or do anything but search for a keyword. I love the Twitter integration, but I would like to set it so Twitter statuses don't get imported to the forum. It's great because I can post my status on the forum and have my external accounts updated, but we sometimes get irrelevant twitter updates coming in from various accounts. Sometimes this is a person who doesn't even post on the forum anymore, but I don't want to delete their account because they may be a potential customer.

Greetings I am looking for a skinner who can help me with a skin which was for 3.0 IP.Board and I need it fixed up for 3.1. The skin is called Midnight Grunge. Currently the main problem is the time stamps on the forum are not working with 3.1... I cannot seem to get ahold of the designer and this skin is just what I was looking for.

I would like to compliment IP Board's anti-spam performance. Until a year or so ago, I had two installs of a competitors forum software. It ran well and I was comfortable with their interface and service. Changes were made and a new version was introduced. I purchased the suite upgrade for both of my forums. The busiest forum is still running with the older version of their software. A less busy forum was upgraded to the new and "improved" version. The new and improved version is a spam magnet. I have to spend time every day removing inappropriate posts and banning the spammers. The busy forum has a smaller problem with spam for some reason. I don't expect to do more…

Thanks for 3.1.2, I'll be installing later this week - looking forward to it. Could I ask though that you please list the changes / ACP settings underneath the announcement of 3.1.2 so that we're not inadvertantly applying features or settings to our sites without an understanding of what they are / where to find them in the ACP? I am really disappointed the option to download to Microsoft Word has been removed. We are a fan fiction board and this option was fantastic for downloading stories. We have had several members complain about this loss of feature when we recently upgraded to 3.1.2. In future versions it would be terrific to bring back this feature. Thanks, Connie

I noticed that the html output when opening any page is very messy: lots and lots of tabs and indenting useless javascripts for guests (LOTS) all css parts are loaded, even those not used at all I highly request a nice mod/hook to clean those or even better ipb them selfs to start cleaning out their mess! it is a shame to see an unoptimized site. regarding javascripts, it should be solved in every hook installed, why the status update for guests require javascript and ajax? I hope this take some attention here. Let me know what you think!

ACP Menu Wrapping

There is a tracker item which is marked as a duplicate and I can not find the original. But the menu wrapping in the ACP making the items difficult to see is annoying, well for me at least with my eyesight problems. The closed tracker item mentioned that it would be likely fixed in v3.1 :whistle: is it possible to have it remedied soonish? Thanks, Larry

Hi, I have the feature request to have people that reply to forum emails be posted directly to the forum. Currently, if you watch/subscribe to a forum, you get sent an email when a new post is placed. is it possible that when someone replies to that specific email that it will automatically update the forum thread- without having to log into or be a member of the forum? right now, there are instances where we have to forward these issues to other teams for resolution. we'd like to enable it so that when those outside teams respond, it will post directly to the forum without having to have someone in the middle pushing responses back and forth. I searched to see if this was already possible... and I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but perhaps a reply-by-email functionality. So if I get a PM, then I get an email notice, I can just reply to that email and it'll insert it into the PM. I have this for Jira and ActiveCollab, it helps quite a bit, especially from a mobile device, instead of having to log in. Not so important for forum topics, though it would be convenient, but for PMs it would be really helpful. Just checks a mailbox periodically

The new verison of IP Board is great but one major issue is people using other types of mobile phones other than iphones and using the normal mobile skin is that they cant login to post messages this is a major issue how do you over come this. I have a fishing site that we will have people posting live reports from their mobiles while out on the water but they cant login to post messages.

Is there anyway to have the recent blog entries sidebar item look the same as the recent topics added or recent status updates. The blog entries block is styled differently on my board and it just looks a little out of place in the side bar. Id like them all to be a uniform look.

A feature I miss from prior versions is the ability to find all member's posts within the profile and dropdown menu (now the new popup)...NOT just the last x posts when you click on the the Posts tab. Now, in order to accomplish this, I'll have to click on advanced search, enter the member's name, check the display results as posts radio button and then finally the search button. That's a lot more work than before, having to type and click more.. It'd be handy to add back the Find member's posts link in the profile and/or the little popup. Edit: I should clarity that I want to see the posts, not the topics a member has posted in.

In many ways I think IPB is a much better product than vBulletin. It doesn't need all the plugins and extras that are extras for vBulletin. But what is challenging is that another reason for fewer add-ons is that they all seem to require modification to the core files. I haven't used the system long and haven't added many add-ons but I can already see updating with every release being an incredible pain. it will be very difficult to remember which files have been modified by what and then having to remember each file that must be updated. vBulletin has an excellent products system where it's upload and then plug and play, for the most part.
