It seems the current reputation system is easily abused and I wanted to make a suggestion: A setting to allow a member to only rep the same member every x number of times and make them have to spread the reputation around before being able to rep the same member again. Another way of accomplishing the same thing is having a setting so that you can make a member wait x amount of time before being able to rep the same member again. Just thought I would throw these out there.

With Twitter Connect on please add the following settings: 1. Turn Twitter login (registration) on/off. (Too many inactive accounts, also current users log in with Twitter not knowing it creates a new account. They just want to sync with Twitter, which they can do in their settings if it is on.) 2. Turn status update integration on/off. This way, a user can enter their Twitter details, and when they click to share a link it uses the bit.ly condensed address since it is using the API, whilst allowing admins to control if those updates should appear on the forum, and if they want to allow logins. OR, with Twitter Connect OFF please keep the settings on the user side.…

Hi. Would it not be more conventional to have the "Updating status too" differentiated with the rest of what the moderator says in their post? Example: Instead of just a plain BG this could be changed to something similar to the "release notes" colour in the announcements section for every release of IPB.

Just a quick message to inquire as to whether IP.Board's tagging functionality is likely to make it into IP.Calendar at some point. Or custom fields for events. Or any other feature that would allow categorization beyond having separate calendars for different event types. Thanks!

Warn Panel In the PM box can it please include the post you are sending the warning for as a quote? If you choose to email instead I guess it should remove the bbcode, or provide a link. If it can't change it then a link will work for both. Also other mods need to know this person was warned, can it create a topic in a designated forum, or in the Report Center? Can it also please save a link in the log, in the profile? We can only see that they were warned, and not the post. Thanks

Recently I had to attempt to save some disk space on a friends board by removing ancient attachments. I saved about 400mb space quite easily by removing ones prior to 2008. The attachment search does not cover personal message attachments that I can see, I do think it might be a sensible idea if it did do this. I don't think there's any privacy concerns as it could just state 'conversation' and not say who it belongs to.

I have just purchased an ipb forum license....all went great....then I tried to open a topic here with my username / pass from my client area : does not work Tried: forgot my password, email not found / user not found submitted support ticket - they said to enter user and pass from client area (obviously) - still does not work emailed the admin of these forums - no response My account does not work for both client area and these forums, can someone please check the issue please? I'm wondering is it possible that in IPB 3.2.0 would introduce such a birthday greeting system that sends out birthday greetings and/or anniversary greetings to your members in several different ways: personal messages, email, birthday topics OR at least by email? Is it likely to happen?, I really must know.

We have tool in ACP which allow remove orphaned attachments and/or images. I remember that sometimes long time ago was there bug which accidentally removed ALL attachments. Although bug was fixed I am worrying about this. So I think would be better, when that tool won't remove orphaned attachments automatically but after scanning we get list of orphaned attachments with checkbox: Are you sure to remove these attachments? :thumbsup:

I wanted to make this quick suggestion. When submitting a post I always type out my post and when I'm finished I hit tab which takes me to the submit button and hit enter. It's just an efficient thing for me. In firefox 4 beta this doesn't work. It doesn't work in safari either I don't think. And when submitting blog comments it doesn't work either. I guess saying "doesn't work" would be incorrect as I don't think stuff is coded for tab+enter. But can it be like this so it always goes from the post form to the submit button? (As opposed to blog comments where it goes to lord knows where).

Hey there, I'm sure a bunch of other people like me have hooks and modifications that use group permissions or forum settings in them. What I would like to suggest is a way for IP.Board to check for those settings when you add a new group or forum, and allow you to update it there. So, for example, those who have a mod installed to show a global message to users on the homepage have the group permissions set up. They then go and add a new usergroup which they want to also add permissions for the global message and maybe another mod at the same time. It would be ideal to have those permissions configurable for the new group, from the group page. So any setting that u…

Can you add the latest versions available? If we look at our purchases all we see is the download button. We should be able to tell if there is a newer one available in the Client Area without having to dig though the forum announcements. Thanks PS. In the filters, allow people to filter by tag(s). So say I have these tags: Apple Microsoft Linux And all I want to do is see things on "Linux", allow me to filter everything but Linux prefixes.

I recently upgraded my forum from 3.0.x to 3.1.4. I installed Matt's Topic Preview hook that displays a topic preview popup when you hover over topic titles in a forum. I personally like it, but many of my users are complaining that it's rather intrusive and that it often pops up for them when they simply want to click on a title to open the thread. I know this Topic Preview will be more pervasive in 3.2. Can you please add a User Control Panel option so members can individually disable this feature? I assume in 3.2 this will no longer be a hook, but will be integrated directly into the software. Thanks for your consideration, ..Al

While reading the [url=" Media blog post, I've noticed that the Event media library shows always the same date for all events. It seems like all events take place at the "31st" which can't be true. ^^ Is it possible to to show the "real" event date using some css magic? This is the screenshot I am talking about.

If you have a forum that doesnt allow posting but has a sub-forum that also doesnt allow posting that has a sub-forum, the "activity light" icon at the top most level will not turn green showing activity in that forum. Here is a diagram to help that make sense: forum with no-posting -> sub-forum with-posting = shows green activity icon forum with no-posting -> sub-forum with no-posting-> sub-forum with posting = does not show activity green icon it would be cool if at the top most level it would turn green if there was any activity in any forums under it, be them direct post or post in sub-forums of sub-forums. hope this makes sense :) thanks.

One of my moderators thought this would do great and stop members from being bossy. When they have all that space to type, they tell the moderators what they need to do. Instead, my moderator suggested to have a pop up like the delete button: That way it just says "Reason" and hopefully with it being a small box, they won't want to try to tell the moderators what to do and will rather give the reason for reporting. That and this would be more streamlined and easier to use. And it won't feel as much of a chore for them since it will be ajax and the pages won't have to load/reload.

Just a quick request/recommendation since this doesn't seem to be in place in 3.1.4 When you currently go to Ban Filters if you have a large amount of banned IPs, User Names, Email Addresses it throws them all on one page. It would be nice if this would be treated like the general members filter where if it exceeds x number of rows it would put them on multiple pages

Would it be possible to increase global upload quota and max single file size limit for active customers? Sometimes, I want to ask for help and attach screenshot in topic but we can't because of way low upload limit. I have to use gallery and then link the image in the topic. At present it is: Used 4.88MB of your 4.88MB global upload quota (Max. single file size: 1.82K) If we can directly upload in topic itself, it would be great! Thanks
