I know Matt mentioned the limitations on the RC builds, ( Chat / External Blocks ) I just wanted let you know the two features are critical that I sincerely hope they are slated for the GM or Release version External Blocks - this could be a touchy issue as I use this as we use this to share advertising on an external site, and I could probably get away for a few days or so without ads on the other site but beyond that it would be an issue since paying advertisers would not be getting what they were paying for. And it could have a negative impact on current revenue and future revenue stream. And I loathe the idea of finding a third party advertising platform. Chat - not …

Finished the upgrade from 3.4.7 to 4.0, but now I'm getting a driver/database error. I've never had this before. Is there a list of steps I can take to remedy this? Currently the entire site is down.

On my install I notice grid view is now 2 column and when clicking into the sub-forums via forum - index - category (Where we can see all the forums in the category listed in one spot) that this pages grid blocks are now each to single row. Is this correct? if this is correct personally I liked the 3 column so much more, a little more scroll to the action now.

Hi, could someone please share an example of how IPS is achieving changing the colours of the individual keys in a bug report? I understand using {$value} in the custom listing format, however even with an {{if}} statement I can't seem to achieve having it switch the colours of the labels it just ignores any css class assignment I set.

Hi, I've been an IPS customer for a while now. It's great software, but $175 is a big commitment (to some at least) to try and create a community at first. While the hosted option is nice, some people are able to host it themselves (and I'm willing to bet some people use it soley for the license, at least to start with). Ideally you'd be able to buy a license for around $25/mo.

Hi - In some of the posts and the replies I have made on here, the @mentions sometime take and sometime do not. I assume that if my @mention is not highlighted in blue, then the person mentioned is not notified. I made a reply where I mentioned @csm and @Adriano Faria and just like here, one took and one did not. Maybe csm has been blacklisted or something? As is typical of human nature, I sometimes make a mistake typing a name. When I back space and correct, or if I go back and add the '@' symbol, the mention does not take. What are others' experiences? Brian

Is it possible to show an article's excerpt on the articles.html page, instead of the full thing? I know it's "truncated" using html but that's not really a good idea imo because a) it still loads the whole thing b) you can see that whole thing for a brief moment before the page fully loads.

IPS4 now utilizes a new search index that creates a new table with indexes that is almost the same size of our post table. One disadvantage of this is that our board database will get a lot bigger. Can you tell the advantages and disadvantages of this new approach compared to IPB3 and Sphinx?

Do you guys can set up the social media logins for your 4.0 site? I both get rejections in the ACP when setting up Google and Twitter. I followed the instructions and I don’t think I screwed it up twice. Are there any special server requirements for making the API calls? What else could cause problems? Can the site still be hidden behind htaccess protection?

Hello, Since IPS 4.0 is a completely rewritten version, I wonder if language packs of previous versions are, at least partially, compatible with it. This is my last hesitation in upgrading my live site to RC1. Any ideas about that? Thanks.

Fresh install, Fresh database. I Get error "An installation has already been activated for this license key. Your license key entitles you to one installation only. If you need to change the URL associated with your license, contact IPS technical support." On step 2 of the install. No other installs exist.
