After all issues to converting the old site to IPS4 is now complete for my site. It feels very well. So in action and a good theme It´s like a dream to control. I have a couple of other sites with open source that really sucks compare to this. I know there are many bugs now, but I can see the potential and IPS have done the best board so far.

How can I set up a global sidebar that can be used on all Pages or a selection of pages? The process of setting up individual sidebars for every single page is pretty tedious.

On this site I can hover a topic title in NC or the forum and it shows the content. (correct)I can't for database records in Pages (example, Bug Tracker here) and the listing in NC does not show a preview in the listing itself. Hover is needed.Blogs should have it to, when the title only is shown and not the preview, like in NC >> All Activity. When going to NC >> Blogs it shows a preview automatically, but when just the title we need the hover preview. I want users to be able to make a calendar entry straight from the new topic page, and have that entry be affiliated with the thread, so that a brief summary (date, time and duration) are shown in the topic. Is there a way to do this? If not, I'd be willing to pay for a plugin making this possible. *hint hint*

I've never really noticed before but now am seeing users being locked out regularly. For one particular user, I had to reset their password for them to be able to log in again. This was a moderator who knows the tools fairly well so not a case of user error. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hey! So I have a root account and one I will want to use aside from that for posting and such. I am aware that there is no possibility to use one email for two accounts however I was wondering if its possible that this gets added in the future? I have my email linked to my cellphone and it is difficult to recieve notifications about registrations as well as personal messages without having the same email.

Just wondering if it is too late to add something to IPB 4 with regards to Group Icon in the cAuthorPane In IPB 3 you had: <li class="group_icon"> but for some reason it is not in IPB 4 Reason am asking is that if add the group icon in admincp >> members >> groups and then use an icon there it then uses that same icon for each theme which seems not a good idea if you have a variety of themes installed and the group icon doesn't match with the theme So in IPB 3 you could have a different group icon for each skin/theme installed you cannot in IPB 4 Hope the above makes sense ?

In the latest blog Matt talks about the editor being updated and stuff about BBCode. There seems to be an issue with what he wishes to put out and what people want. The problem is, I don't get what the post was really talking about and what the issue is. A more clear idea of what is being said should be stated on the blog to people have no earthly idea what is going on. Remember IPS, when posting stuff to blogs you have to bring it down to non tech talk or explain what your talking about. So to my question in the blog it show the updated version. It would be very useful if the user could define a custom title for the "Latest Records"-Block especially when there are more than one block on the page. A simple text-field would do the trick... this also applies for the "Record Feed"-Block

Can we please have the ability to close polls without closing the topic? This makes no sense. We run contests/polls etc. that have certain durations. Admins have to set a topic close time and then the discussion cannot continue. Also please remember, members create polls too! They constantly ask me how to close a poll. They can't. They can't close topics so they can't close a poll. So they have a little contest or poll and it says "Member A" won, and the next day it shows "Member B." Can we please have this ability once and for all? Thanks!

Hello IPS, In the last weeks, there seems to be not so much attention paid to the Bug Tracker as before. Bug Tracker has now 20 pages of bugs and they seem to keep growing. I have not seen so many pages with bugs untouched/unresolved in the recent past, or at least I do not remember. And I start to be a bit worried. It looks to me that you guys suddenly decided to focus all/most of your efforts on something else (support tickets, main site upgrade, next version with new features like 4.1 or something else maybe?). And here I thought this member was lying..I feel bad now lol. Anyway, apparently it is possible for a user to accidentally delete their account on your forum. No warning, No prompt. Just deleted account. How? Apparently by adding an emoticon with their name. What she did was (In her own words) 1) Went to account settings in the UCP 2) Clicked display name 3) Typed in new username and hit enter 4) Went to google and found a bear symbol to put in front of my name because I wanted that instead of just Allybear 5) Copy and pasted the bear symbol into the new username slot again (This was less than a minute later after I changed it the first time btw in case that had something…

I love new features, but theres lots of issues in IPB 4. After i upgraded to 4, google reports Increase in server errors all the time. Those errors come from normal topics, for example from this. So topics are there, but Google cant crawl. Reasons: timeout, acces denied and not found. Something isnt right.

My original thread here: Although I know it is a bit before features and such are added to IP4 as it is still having some kinks ironed out, I wanted to throw this up. We can no longer create "non-recurring" subscriptions, which in my opinion is not good at all. We need the ability to create both non-recurring and recurring subscriptions like we were able to do in 3.4.x. It throws a lot of people off when the only way to do non-recurring is to purchase a recurring sub, then have to turn around and cancel it if they do not want recurring. Some people like non-recurring for budgeting reasons, some people like it for "trying" something before committing to a recurring…

Been using IPS4 for a few months now and overall it's been a positive experience, except for search. Now I know search system enhancements are next up on the feature plan, and those listed enhancements can't come sooner, but there are other issues and enhancements I'd like to see. First up is to fix the basics/bugs, how do you do an "and" search with multiple terms that is sorted by date, I can't seem to do it and I find that area unusable. If might be a good idea to duplicate the "Sort By" option on the left filter sidebar above "Content Type". I find the left sidebar filters for search results too cumbersome, currently I have to scroll down a number of pages just to fin…

I recently renewed my ip downloads app and now I'm wondering why????? The script has the ability to download without the app which is why I wonder why the module was created in the first place... it's a waste of money and it's expensive.
