I think it would be very beneficial for extension developers to have some sort of proper API we can look into. The source code is poorly documented and really hard to follow. How is putting "make request" in the docblock for a method called "makeRequest()" ever going to explain anything to a new set of eyes on the code? The documentation in the IPS4 resources is semi-ok but nearly not up to par what I am used to from other projects. Not even my IDE has any idea what is going on. Either way, an API schema would be nice. Just my 5 cents. Oh and some more interaction with the actual IPB developers would be nice too, so we can ask questions and actually get a response. I spen…

Upgraded to version 4 a few days ago. In version 3 when you browsed the member list in the ACP any banned members were highlighted in red. In version 4 they aren't and there's no quick at a glance method as far as I can see to see who is banned and who isn't. For example my other admin person will ban someone because their member name doesn't comply with our rules. I then can see he has banned them and don't need to take any further action. Now, I have no idea whether my other admin person has done anything or not. I've got to go into the new member's profile and check. Bit of a pain on a busy forum with 30 - 40 new registrations every day and a percentage of them get ban…

Hi there, @Rikki & @Matt, I wonder why the global email wrapper contains such a bunch of table cells… Isn't it too complicated? For instance, I think this one: <td width='800' …> … prevents the emails containing a large image from being correctly resized on the iPhone Mail app: (the text is very small compared to a regular email). There is a group setting to delete own albums. I believe deleting own images should be an option as well, separated from general content deleting. Members keep asking me why they can delete their album but not just a single image.

There is literally no reason for this feature to be limited to builder type pages. Please add it to manual mode, it saves quite a bit of hassle in adding assets for a given page. One still has to go and add the css/js to the template manager, so I have no idea why this is present in the 'easy' mode yet not the 'advanced' mode when it still requires the css/js be written or already exist, thus requiring advanced user involvement at some level anyway.

Is a minor thing, but it truly was helpful in IP.Content in 3.x.... could you please have the content tab be the default tab when editing a Manual Mode page, or at least have it remember what tab was selected when save and reload is used? Repetitive edits at the moment involve quite the tedious re-selecting of the content tab repeatedly. Thanks for reading.

I think you should limit the number of topics a new member can open to 2 or 3 at most. Everyday im seeing here new spam bots opening several topics a a question of minutes.

In 4.0 we can now easily translate structural elements like categories, menus, page names and so on. But now that I just tried it with Pages, I noticed it doesn’t work for the actual records which hold the content. So I can have a “news database” which appears as “Neuigkeiten” to Germans and “Actualité” to the French, but the news articles then will all be English or a wild mix of languages and not fit the actual language selection. So I am wondering how this feature is even meant to be used. Am I missing something? Though it is stated This storage setting is in use. Significant edits made to this storage setting will be saved as a new storage setting and a move files process will be initiated. But I don't think it should be saved as a new storage when I only modify custom url. I recently modified custom url, only to find that it is saved as new storage setting, so I deleted the old settings. Guess what? All my files in old storage setting are deleted. This is really awful.

Are you planning on releasing reports which outline what code has been changed in themes when new versions are released? It's understandable that they weren't released for beta's and RC's, however they're pretty vital now that we've reached final, and there has never been a proper answer despite being asked a few times. There were code changes between 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 which weren't announced and had to be found manually.. I'm sure a "difference report" like those available in 3.x would be greatly appreciated by many theme designers like myself..

when moderators are allow to see hidden content ( in line ) that is fine because typically its minimal in their current app like VNC or in a forum or topic. however when a person is flagged as spammer and 2 dozen items are hidden (not deleted) they still see these in their field of view on VNC and in blocks and forums perhaps the "queue" field could be set to 3 for posts that are "SPAM" or have been flagged as spam and in the topics the "approved field" could be set to -2 these items would be hidden from the front of the site and could be seen from the ModeratorCP this will still allow for viewing other hidden content. - I know i could set the flag as spammer setting to…

No idea if anyone else is having similar issues but it is now sometimes taking 10 seconds to load the IPS forum (this site) into browser (doesn't happen every time but getting more frequently now) I really hope this speed improves and that when installing IPB 4 on my website that it is not going to take ages to load as if so then will not be using IPB 4 (or to improve d/load speed have to get my host to make changes to server which they are unlikely going to do)

Hello! Please add an opportunity to create menu items for applications in Pages app (as in 3.4). It's very, very, VERY important for large websites. Reasons: I need to reorder any menu items (databases and applications) and create submenus with both databases and application.I need to highlight current pages. I cannot do this if I add applications in menu or submenu as a simple link.In 3.4 version this functional were a very useful. I hope you add this functional as soon as possible.

When you flag as spammer a user - and the rules are to hide / delete - this should also force refresh all cached blocks so offending items are not visible some areas of the site (VNC) i still seem to see content from a spammer - even though the rules was to be hidden. the times were not <pink>.

Hello, i know xenforo use some privacy feature for member's profile. Why don't add something like that for IPS ? when we see a profile every member can see every post of every member but some of people don't want to let some informations free to everyone. I know we can limite the visibility of profile in the ACP according to groups. But it is maybe not very efficient as we remove a feature for everyone. It could be bery useful to add something to improve privacy for each member and avoid to let a entire group have exactly the same permissions.

So, at first I was a big fan of the one-by-one approval in the Approval Queue. It's nice and modern. Fine. But yesterday, I had 130+ IP.Gallery images that had to be approved and I had to go through ONE by ONE to approve. I gave up after the eight image. It's way too inefficient for large-scale moderation. Either let me approve all posts in a topic and all images in an album, or list it out in a table view and let me batch approve ALL.
