In 3.4.7, we have the ability to set the article author to someone other than the person entering the actual article. We use this frequently for guest article posts where an article will be submitted to us but then one of the admins actually does the posting. We do it this way so we don't need to grant IP.C editor access to someone who may only post an article once or twice and also because we have too may issues with the existing Promote to Article function.

Hi, I am using the fantastic Automation Rules app, but it doesn't support rules for when topics/posts are split. In discussing this with the developer, @Kevin Carwile, he told me it is because currently the IPS platform doesn't offer a hook that developers can use for this action: http://ipsguru.net/forums/topic/149-actions-for-content-editedsplitmerged So, it would be really important to add this hook, so apps and plugins could be developed to modify/add functionalities for when topics/posts are split. Hey! I have some questions about topic splitting. I'm a bit confused and should it work this way after all. I made a topic on my forums and needed to transfer some posts into that topic. I used "split" in old topic but the result was that my post in new topic went to last position and topic starter changed to person who made the earlyest post from splitted posts. Should it work that way? Or is it a bug?

IPS has definitely provided the feature rich community suite with the release of IPS v4. The efforts made in the v4 is well appreciated. But again the problem is with the lack of documentation. I have seen the Documentation as well as new Guides area which contains step by step guides. Those are just guides to get started and familiar with IPS Suite. IPS must provide us with the complete documentation for v4 containing all the terminologies, KBs, guides, examples, API structure (showing all API classes) which covers everything from the point of installation to advance usage in one place. Hi there, at the moment I'm a little bit unhappy about the changelogs. In fact no one knows what happend to the product if theres a notice like "This is a maintenance release to fix reported issues." Even with new minor versions (like 4.1.6) the changelog isn't detailed enough. So some of my apps crashed because something changed - and I don't know why this happens and what change cause this. If it's possible (yeah, I know it costs time) a more detailed changelog would be awesome. If it's a bugfix just link to the solved issues within the bug tracker so everyone can understand which bugs are fixed now. It would be nice too if you would create bug reports for bug…

Let's say I want to use All Activity as the default but remove a political forum. That forum is browsable only. In 3.4 we could do this in the VNC, in AA we can't because it is not configurable. You may say, that is because it is "All" Activity, okay point made, but then if I create a new stream and remove it, I miss out on "all" of the activity of Likes, etc. because those actions only appear in AA. So I suggest you make the AA stream configurable and let admins decide what "all" is, or... Allow us to add the "actions" to other streams, so we can replicate AA but also customize to our needs. Clicking quote title should link to quote source post as opposed to simple hiding the respective quote box. This would be much more useful. That way if things are quoted from other threads it's easy for others to link back and find source thread Also using quote button doesn't allow any option to add an author, or am I missing something?

With version 3.x, we found it very useful to have the forums set to display users' posts in most-recent on top order. This way, clicking a thread link brought the reader to the most relevant information. It also keeps behavior consistent between threads and posts - both had the most recent content on top. The ability to re-order posts from the default has gone away in 4.1.6. I would like to request that it be brought back at earliest convenience.

Hello! I know the API is really new (and I love it - it's been long overdue). In order to make the API slightly more powerful on the member front, it would be nice to see: The ability to update the banned status of a member To update primary group of a member on edit To add/remove secondary groups to/from a member (without needing to know their other secondary groups).

I would really love that category permissions comes back in a future version of Pages. I don't want to have to create 2 different "Articles" databases to provide information to both members and none members. It's an all or nothing which is detrimental to my professional website and it's difficult on my hobby site.

While I originally enjoyed IP.Content/Pages when IPS first released it, I have grown so frustrated with this addon that it has become a useless and worthless feature of the IPS Suite. I have tried submitting Support Tickets to resolve this issue, tried searching the IPS4 Resources, even tried posting on the forums and nobody has a clue on how to fix this problem. Hey, Recently i have been having alot of issues with the IPB software, updates have broken my forums every update for the past 5 updates and obviously when these things go wrong i look to turn to the company that produces the software the company i pay a subscription for support. hi! ipbsuite update is a Great feature and Works fine in this last release! but this require password, confirm, etc... instead, eg, with wordpress, is simply oneclick and all is done! yes, ok, isn't more complicated, but I've an username with a password for my website, another for ipbclients, cause of this is necessary to delete all data and write ipbsuite data login at every upgrade. I think a simply "oneclick" upgrade can be a good improvement for future release. just my 2cents regards...

From my user " I have several watched threads. A week or two ago what would happen is that I'd get an email when a new reply had occurred. Then until I viewed the thread I would NOT GET MORE EMAILS for more replies. The idea being I don't need 6 email reminders for the same thing while I'm asleep.... With the new forum I get an email for every single reply, meaning whenever I get one email reminder I get 4 or 5 or 6 instead of one. If possible I'd like it to go back to the way it was before, otherwise I might have to stop subscribing to threads because I'm getting spammed pretty hard by the new way this feature works."

Since the update to latest version yesterday, if I upload 5 images, add information to each photos, I get a warning message that information has not been filled out for 4 images. If I hit OK, everything works perfectly. I am not sure why this warning message is appearing. Thanks, Chris

. Can there please be a change in displaying "FREE" instead of 0.00 USD (or other currency) in store products & in downloads with associated store products .. In Downloads there is already a choice to set it to "FREE" .. why not do an effort to get things right in store .. And yes the purchase price can be 0.00 USD but a renewal can be set .. So before "FREE" is valid .. please IF THEN ELSE = no renewals It is just a display feature .. .

One of the functions we perform requires uploading many images at once into our image gallery and tagging each of these images. Often times, tags will get missed or misspelled or simply changed. It would be great time saver to give the moderator / administrator the ability to add or remove a tag(s) to multiple items selected in a listing (be it forum items or gallery items). This function would NOT be intended for users. A bonus feature from the Admin console, would be the ability to manage and administrate existing tags - deleting tags in bulk... or merging / redefining tags.

I must thank the team of the client area ticket support very very much for the great work what they do ! I had since update from 3.4.x -> 4.x multiple challenges - but nearly all of them could be resolved perfect - some was not possible, but after discussion it was ok and ips told me they will give it to development. As well we could get some bugs resolved & changed some parts into new things, what is definitely great. Looking forward to a good & long time with IPS

I'd like to add a feature to the default theme to change the font in the ACP. It can be done through custom css, however it would be a great advantage to add this as a setting imo.

I'm currently logged in in this browser, but I'm unable to log in with other browsers / devices. I just receive the error message "Something went wrong" error message on the page with the log in form. I'm 99% sure it's the correct login details.

I could right click picture to get image link in ipb 3.4. If we compare IPS Gallery to flicker We could request for an option to download images in different sizes. What's more, IPS Gallery should save original size pictures! More and more people like to use extremely large pictures.

Suppose the word you wanted to block was "crap" If you put "crap" into the profanity filter it will work perfectly fine. However, if the users put in "c r a p" there is no way to block it. Even if I put "c r a p" into the profanity filter it doesn't accept "c r a p" as a string. Thus it won't block "c r a p" from being posted. (no pun intended) My users have figured this out and are using prohibited language like crazy.

I setup an index page using IP-Pages but noticed I can't throw an all activity stream onto my page. I think this should be an option. I would like to drop all activity feed into the side bar. I realize I could make the all activity stream my home page but then I loose access to many of the custom blocks I use.
