I am running IPS 4.1.19.4 on a test version of my website to set it up, familiarize and rewrite my content and I am testing the Contact Us form and performing a test message. The form works as it should, I get the message and the form returns to the "Message Sent" page and I return to the landing page after clicking the link. But whenever I return to the Contact Us page and form I see the message I previously sent still in the text box even after a day. I would like to know why this happens. There are many times when we link to an old topic, (which looks quite good now thanks to v4). I think It would be great if old topic get a small one line reference link, maybe very similar to github. I think that would be great for users to check similar discussion in new topics.

My twitter updated today and the menu changed at the top, i have always disliked the top of the forums since 4.0 it's too big and really no need for the double header. Twitter have done this Can it not look like that on our forums? a mini logo could work when swiped left you can have the menu items that you normally get on the right. and to the right you can have the create new content icon along with new content. Search can be placed inside menu when swiped left home could work as the back button does now It may not be completely suitable but my point is it really needs to be improved, said this a few years ago though.

Like almost all admins here, I'm concerned with floods of bots, spiders, etc. visiting my site. In addition, I am on IPS Hosting, which charges according to user load measured over a 48-hour period. I have had my monthly hosting charges kicked into a higher (very expensive) bracket because of a single huge spike due to bots, spiders, etc. I have been directed by IPS Support to monitor IPB's Users Online list for suspicious activity. This is made particularly difficult because the Users Online list cannot be sorted by IP address. (Duplicates and clusters of IP addresses are highly suspicious.) I would like to have some way to reset everyone and force them to go in and update their profile, when they login or try to post. But not delete any data they may already have set. Something like a date field if that is empty then they must edit their profile, it would be nice when they saved their profile the date would be set to the current date. So admins can find every one who hadn't updated in x months and reset them or such.

I copied and pasted an old record from a database I am deleting into a blog. Then I thought "Hmmm, I should reupload those attachments so they don't deleted". When I went to upload a file I saw all my content that had been pasted into the blog body was ALREADY an attachment! That saved me soooo much time!

For a while now in both 4.1 and 4.2 the drag & drop ability to move forums around is a hit or miss sometimes if your not extremely careful your entire forum order will gack leaving things random and unintentionally nested. It would be handy if there was a setting like the menu manager that you have to PUBLISH the forum hierarchy and most importantly be able to RESTORE the past previous (30 days) forum hierarchies.

Correct me IF I am wrong. But as it stands I had to severely cut down on the amount and size of emoticons I use due to loading issues. So I take it there is a limit due to how they load in the editor?? Or maybe it hogs resources when someone clicks the smiley if there are too many?? I'm unsure of the above. Maybe a staff member can assist me with how they work exactly and the limitations. As my community would love more and more and more memes. It is something they keep asking for since I removed what I had. Anyone got suggestions on this or info that can help me satisfy my members!

Hi, Re storage of personal information (aspects of member data) Do you think for security and best practice reasons (and Data Protection compliance) that Personal Data* in the form of email address, date of birth (birthday) and possibly IP Address should ideally be encrypted when stored in the IPS database? I noticed they are not encrypted, whereas other items are encrypted although using MD5 which seems out of date. I would love a middle ground club between Open and Closed.People can read the information and posts in the club but must request access to join in on the conversation. This would be for groups that don't mind others seeing their information but members must meet a certain criteria to participate.

it's been mentioned before but a better means to move an existing forum in to a club would be ideal not have to go thru pages and pages to move individual posts to a new club forum. also there should be a way for all participants of moved topics to be auto enrolled as member of the club you just moved it to.

For a few years now all our regulars are accustomed to an "Unlimited" edit-time-limit on their posts. We have recently discovered that accounts flagged with "Moderate Content" can still edit all their old posts to whatever they want as a way to bypass the rule. Hence we changed the edit time limit to 1440 minutes for most everyone (in our case we call them (their group) "Full Members"). However, now there's an uproar. Apparently there is no way for moderators (not admin) to change the GROUP a user is in. This would have been a way to have a different edit time limit for those who are in "Moderate Content" status. I'm looking for a block that displays the most "liked" comments within topics. For example, this block would display in every topic, in a sidebar, and it would show the most liked comments within the currently viewed topic. We have topics with thousands of comments, and people ask the same questions over and over. It would be great to display the most liked comments as a way to display a shortcut to the good stuff. Does this exist? Can I create it in a custom block?

There is already a link for "Content I Started", so there's no real point to having the default filtering the same for "My Content". I think My Content should still be there, but the default filtering for it should be all topics you have posted in.

When receiving at least 25 reports a day, it's very frustrating that the default view when viewing the report center view is to show all reports. Including completed ones. Could we please have a filter that limits to "Under review" and "New report" and also uses this filter as the default when loading the report center. The same way it's done when you click the report center notification icon on desktop.

To support Authy 2FA, the Authy forms were upgraded to support selecting the Country Code when entering a Telephone number. The Tel.php form helper was not upgraded to generalize the Country Code feature. Rather, it is just a simple rename of the Text form helper. Please consider upgrading Tel.php to be a full Telephone input helper so custom profiles w/ Telephone fields handle Country Codes and input validation as well. As it is now in 4.2, the Telephone custom profile field is just a Text input field. It doesn't even validate that the text entered is actually composed of digits. The current Address field type in IPS4 doesn't lend itself for entering an Apt./Unit/Suite # to complete a full deliverable address. Since the Address field uses Google Maps to autocomplete on the Street Address line and Google doesn't add apt/unit #'s to the autocomplete address, users don't always add that info to the addresses they provide. I want to use some of these addresses for delivery on my site. Please add an extra input field (under the Street Address lines) where the input field has a placeholder that encourages entering the apt/unit #. See Amazon's Address input form for an example:

I would be interested in discussing how IPS is planning to compete against the Workplace by Facebook? I noticed on IPS's front page it basically has the same sales pitch for companies.... Team IPS, I really miss the way each product had a dedicated support forum. It made it much easier to read, catch up and highlight good topics on the add-on apps, for example Pages. If like myself, when I recently needed to look at Pages related topics to refresh myself and get some answers, it felt like the related topics and results were all over the place, time consuming and easy to miss unless I managed to come up with the ideal keywords for searching or where folks had used tags. Please consider restoring sub-forums for each of your specific app add-ons, as content discovery could now be really enhanced by the Activity Stream functionality that of course ew…
