After resolving a number of problems over the last few weeks and banging my head against a brick wall on more than one occasion, I have finally managed to upgrade my forum to the latest version of IPS 4. Unfortunately all is not as it should be......... Now when I click on members I receive the following error:- A configuration or server error has occurred.EX1054 Something went wrong. Please try again. Can someone please help before I resort to throwing my laptop out of the window!!!!!!!!! Gary.

I tried following old instructions (IP.Board 3.x) and its obvious IP.Board 4.x is completly different. I have searched the Knowledgebase and IPS4 Resources for answers but didn't find anything. If I missed it and this is a duplicate, I apologize. Any help is appreciated.

Is there a way of making it so IP.Suite 4.0 only allows genuine and real e-mail addresses? My 3.4 site is plagued with people using fake e-mails and for the relaunch of my first site, I would like to stamp this out. Any help would be appreciated.

Alright so I have a question on ksalue.com I am using pages as a home page but when I Open an article it shows the featured image inside the post, how do I hide or remove the featured image from inside the post? Also I have some other issues in the pages like ( Article Image does not work " inserting a link ) + ( Article Video Does not work " Inserting a video link to show as a featured image/thumbnail/video instead of a picture) and 2 other issues I have wrote it on the picture of the posting area in the attached file here is a picture of my posting area

It seems the error page for false or missing URL's on my site isn't working correctly on my site, I basically get an error page (on all browsers). The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.I have the htaccess file downloaded from the 'Server Engine Optimization' and placed within the root of my IP.Suite, can anyone help me resolve it?

Hello, I'm using IPS 4.0.13.1 and I have recently implemented Facebook Connect to allow users to register/login using their facebook credentials. My question/issue is, when they sign up through facebook, they are prompted for an email, which they are then required to validate. What I want is to validate email of users that register directly to the forum, but if the login through facebook, I was the email to be populated with their facebook email and not have to validate. Is this possible and is what I'm experiencing the default behaviour of Facebook Connect with IPS? Thanks in advance!

Greetings, I've been able to find a solution in the forums for making the profile cover picture larger in height by adding to the custom.css file the following: #elProfileHeader { height: 250px; } This is a good size for my profile but I also need it to be the same in the calendar event listings, blogs and any other apps in the community suite which allow for a cover picture in order to have a consistent look throughout the site. The profile fix is the only one I could find other than the setting in Members > Social which only has "Maximum cover photo size?" and that only covers kb limitations. Many thanks Ron

Hi, I'm using IPS Connect from a slave installation to connect to the master IPS installation. On my website, I use the load() method from the Member class. Problem: on the slave installation, it returns a guest member; but shouldn't it return the member from the master installation? Thanks a lot,

Hi there, I would like to know if the "allow_admin_mails" field is synced between several IPS installations connected with IPS Connect? That would be very helpful: when a member chooses to unsubscribe from emails, he'd like to unsubscribe from everywhere. If not, do you have any idea on how I could sync them?

Hello, I know that IPS 4 detects the language of guest's browser and set the same language of the board, regardless of whatever set in ACP. Is there a way to disable that feature? I would like to use only one (local) language for my forum. In RC2, this was possible. What I did is that I disabled the English language and left only my local language. However, this does not work in RC4. Thank you very much for any suggestion!

I use the IPB member database to authenticate users for the main part of my website. It works great on v3.48. For v4, the authentication is different. I have a problem trying to convert my current database to utf8 in preparation for the upgrade to 4.0.13.1. I am aware that some of the modules that I have installed "Custom Side Blocks" for example are not supported in version 4, so to reduce the likelihood of these causing problems, I have uninstalled all the hooks and modules that are not supported. As part of this process the tables have been removed from the database and everything has been re-cached. Now when I run the utf8 converter, it gives me an error saying the table custom side blocks cannot be found even though everything has been removed. Is there something that the converter is reading that tells it what tab…

On my way from vb 4.2.2 Im stuck at step 7 from the upgrade script from ipb 3 to ipb 4. Can you help? a) requirements checker was green b) I got several errors during the upgrade, but everytime I was able to press "continue", except for the last step (Number 7). Hi, 1. First question I want to change the auto generated slug name of the forum example.com/forum/1-c/ this name was generated from "C++" programming language name string, I would like to change it to example.com/forum/1-cpp/ How can I do it? WordPress has an option to hand modify any new blog post and it's slug, why isn't it available in IPB4? 2. Second question Is it possible to remove the ID from the slug too? So it would became example.com/forum/cpp/ ?

I am sure it would have been discussed but couldn't find it via the search, however would anyone please be able to assist with a fix for converting "First letter in caps in topic title" to this "First Letter In Caps In Topic Title" It stops shouting and additionally allows continuity on the forum.
