Hi, I'm trying to update from 4.0.13.1 to 4.1.4.1. I uploaded the downloaded folder to my forum through FTP as always, but system check tells me there are no applications to upgrade. Any suggestion? Thanks

I'm pulling some stuff into Pages from my database and it's automatically sorting everything by 'date created'. I tried sorting the database (in database settings) but that will only sort the database category page, and there are no options in Pages to select the order in which things are sorted. Does anyone have a good method for automatically sorting/reordering the contents of databases in Pages? @Lindy @Charles Would this be considered a bug if the database setting isn't honoured by Pages or not? Personally, I think the setting in the database should override the default setting on all pages related to the database.

I am having larger than normal server loads, many users are experiencing 30 second load times and also topic views are no longer being calculated I have put in a support request early this morning but have not heard back. Tomorrow is a huge day for our site and I really need this corrected. Is anyone else having any issues?

Hello, I have a problem with IPS 4.1.4.1. Although I don´t check the Moderator box "Show that the message has been edited"... ... it would be shown a comment "Edited just now by XXX": In IPB 3 I didn't have the problem. Is this a bug? Can I disable the "edited by" function?

Hi, I use a database in the PAGES system. I would like to use the "user" field to give data access. If I use only one user, all it's ok {{if member.member_id == $record->field_20}} For now, I put 2 user in my user field and this code does work. My field # 20 gives me this result for my 2 users: 206,1 (for the user 206 and user 1) I want to make a condition based on user entered into the fields. I'm test this, but it does not. {{if member.member_id == in_array( member.member_id, array($record->field_20) )}} Thank's for your support... Stef

In IP.Content I could decide for each database field, if and how it would appear in forum topics, if it got posted there. How is that done in Pages? In the field settings I see nothing to set this up anymore. And when I look at the template which is probably used, there is just a foreach loop for “topicFields”. But where are those fields defined? {{foreach $record->topicFields() as $id => $field}} {$field|raw} {{endforeach}} <br> <p><a href="{$record->url()}">{lang="content_view_record" sprintf="$record::database()->recordWord( 1 )"}</a></p>

Hi Recently got my IPB hosting as well as my hosting sorted and to be honest I'm lost. I have tried uploading the files and I couldn't set the PHP Limit with my hosting - so I got a server! Now having trouble accessing the uploaded files and actually installong IPB. Just reinstalled my server. If I give someone the FTP access, could they kindly help me install the IPB software? I will gladly pay a mindful fee. Thanks Karl.

Is it possible to make the activity stream the default stream for everyone? I'd like to replace the 'unread' link on the bar beneath the menu, I realise you can if you change the default stream yourself but is there a way to do this globally (for all members).

Hi all I am currently trying to install a fresh IPB on a new site I am creating. I am having some trouble, I uploaded all the files and put all permissions on the files (write, etc) within THE FTP but the /admin/install goes to a page not found 404. What is the deal with this and can it be fixed easily? Thanks Karl

Before when I checked "Remember me" I could stay logged in here for months / forever, now it seems like it's max a week or something. Have you changed some setting? Because it's going on my nerves each time I need to log in.

Dear All I've just upgraded to Version 4 and am struggling a little Firstly, I've installed a hook which displays recent topics & posts in the sidebar. However our sidebar disappeared in the upgrade and I've no idea how to replace it. Secondly, I've installed an App (Messages) - I've enabled it, added a Message, but it doesn't show. I'm fairly sure I'm doing something wrong and it may be related to the above. Any ideas?? Many thanks Bill

Hello, I'm new to ips (and php fwiw) and I have a hard time with it. If pretty sure the answer is somewhere in these forums / documentation, but I just couldn't find it (or understant it maybe...). I am developping a website for a game and I use IPS community suite for its forum. But I would also like to use it to record scores etc... for users. So I would like that people could log from any page of the website / and have access to their id / name. I will put everything else in another database with these infos. Having access to their name / id is ok, but I'd like to use the userBar template on every page and I don't understant how to make it work. …

I am getting the following error when I try to add a server to hosting side of Commerce... With hostname: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'oynx.the-jargon.com' With IP: SSL: certificate subject name 'envthis.com' does not match target host name '206.225.82.33' I have actually tried every domain I currently have on my server and no go.. Any suggestions?

Users are not getting any registration mails, even though it says a confimation mail has been sent. I have tried to register with several of my own e-mail adresses and I dont get any mails. PHP mails seems to work and If I send a mail from the contact formular, then the mail is send and arrives in my inbox. What could be wrong here?

Is there anyway possible to get rid of that annoying loading symbol when you navigate pages in threads? On most forums, including our own, it at minimum takes 3 seconds and at most 8-10 seconds before going to the next page. Quite annoying really. Honestly, I hadn't noticed it myself really until I joined IPB3.4 forums recently and noticed it doesn't exist there and sites that run on other forum software. But this is starting to bug me so is there anyway to fix this?

We need to rebuild our server due to old php and mysql so the upgrade from 4.1.3.2 is not going to go through How critical is the upgrade from 4.1.3.2 to 4.1.4.1 because I have to wait for a good week now with the holidays then there is a lot of testing to be done If there is a hole somewhere I need to plug it but I can t do it for a week...can I just replace the old files that are in the patch on the server and wait? would that at least patch the hole even if the upgrade is not run?

Hello, I would like to redirect the users visiting site.com to site.com/portal. If I set Portal as the default app, then when the string 'forums' is added to every urls coming from the Forums app, for example: site.com/forums/forum/... site.com/forums/topic/... which I want to avoid. Is there a way to: Either redirect site.com to site.com/portal. while keeping Forums as the default app (using .htaccess for example). Or set Portal as the default app and remove "forums" the urls? Thank you in advance.
