I can not find away to manage the downloads, i.e. where there are versions that need to be deleted there dose not appear to be a way to do this, or am I missing something obvious?

Hey all, my name is Sean. I am part of a group that started a community which now has 2600 members worldwide and over 100,000 posts on our forums. Unfortunately the member who started the community, and is the one who is a programmer, or knows anything about IPS or forums, has decided to step down as an admin. Nearly all responsibility has fallen on me and frankly, I have no idea what I am doing. Since February we have had the issue where new members are unable to register. I am also unable to manually add a new member. Being that I am completely unfamiliar with running forums, and our founding member has stepped down, I am here looking for someone who can help. …

I notice if one clicks on a notification and it takes you to the topic then all unread notifications are no longer bold. Is this by design or a bug as I think the unread should be still bold.

I am hoping to better understand the RSS import feature. When doing an RSS import, it is copying over the text from the feed or is it simply displaying what is on that feed? What I am trying to figure out is what happens when that feed that it was imported from goes away? The next question is about images from those feed imports. From what I can tell, the images imported from the RSS feed are simply displaying the images on the other website the feed comes from. What happens to those images once the RSS that they were imported from goes away?

I've just tried to upgrade to 4.2. The upgrade completed correctly and I got the screen to go to Admin CP or Front End. However if I go to either the admin cp or the front end I get a message saying that the Install is still in progress. If I go back to the upgrade is ays that there are 'no application available to upgrade'. So I'm stuck and offline. I have an urgent ticket in but any ideas please?

I followed the automatic upgrade from with AdminCP, logged in to my account and the files downloaded and began extracting. When I next glanced at the screen the update had failed with an error of 'too many redirects'. I can no longer access my website or gain access to the AdminCP. I've been advised by support that it's a server error but I've not had any problems before using the auto update method from within the AdminCP. I've never had problems with 'too many redirects' either and my website was performing perfectly just prior to the attempted update. Not sure what to do right now but just a warning to others as to what can and might happen.

Hey IPS community. So this just happened. In the middle of promotion of our membership product I decided to upgrade forum to the latest version and got a failed upgrade with "500 Internal Error". (not the smartest idea, I know now). For things to be even worse, I've just realized we don't have fresh backup, at least not fresh enough to have our initial forum version restored physically. Bluehost can't help us and I don't even know where to start or whether it's possible to maybe perform a fresh file reinstall and use existing database with our user data ? And this is happening in the worst possible time, so if there's IPS dev. expert willing to help, …

I created 2 banner ads with the "Fluid view topic listing, between topic rows" setting. First banner: after every 10 topic rows (Repeated: 1 time) Second banner: after every 20 topic rows (Repeated: 1 time) But this causes only the second banner to appear. The first banner was ignored. Changing the number of rows didn't have any affect. Setting "Repeated" to 0 times causes both banners to be ignored so I guess 1 means "display 1 time" and not "repeat 1 (more) time". Only way to display 2 banners was to set the first one to "repeated: 2 times" and completely disable the second banner. If I kept the second banner on (even if it was set to 21 rows (so …

Hi, I have two users I wish to exclude on the Leaderboard, one is a bot for RSS feeds and the other is the Admin account. The Leaderboard must be about the members, not people that run the site. Can anyone please advise on how to exclude certain members ? Thank you.

My site is at https://petsnwildlife.uk running 4.2 Think all is set up ok re Meta tabs & sitemap etc,but site getsv no visitors at all. no bots or anyone at all, even cleantalk shows no visitors. Sure i used to be able to put bots in a specific group but no longer seems possible. Anyone got any ideas what i am doing wrong please.

Serve images from local server?: I have this option selected: When using https and members post remote links to insecure images then this can cause the page to report as insecure in your browser. This setting, when enabled, will cause the image to be retrieved and then served from the local web server over https instead. This doesn't seem to be working, or at least not in the blogs section. Am I just confused because the link of the image shows the original image URL location or is this really not copying the images over? Is that just because it is in the blogs section?
