Spammers sure are a tricky bunch these days, they are using what appears like normal emails etc, and they are using what appears to be normal user names too. We are getting a lot of spam registrations, and I have the IPS anti spam service activated and my settings are pretty strict, only action to take for 1/4 is activated as "allow member to register as normal", then 2/4 "flag the account for manual review" then 3/4 and 4/4, "do not allow user to register at all". I also have reCAPTCHA V2 set up. With that, IPS is returning a score of 1 for almost every single new registration, and we have to research the users manually to find out if they are spammers or not. …

Hi all, and thanks always to those who take the time to read and reply to these kinds of posts. I have searched about and can not find info on this. My questions are: 1. Can I set a member to have full admin right's to the shop only and not the rest of the site. If so, how might I do this please? 2. I currently have a VIP membership in the shop, which is linked to my Paypal account, but am 'renting out the online shop' I need to keep the subscriptions and allow for more but also allow a new person to set up her own payment info... Is this possible? (or can anyone think of a clever way around it) MANY THANKS!! Simon W.

Hi, may be I am missing somethisg, but I am just starting with commerce Can I somehow make some product groups avaliable to certain usergrous? Or can I hide some product groups from every body? I know I can do it product-by-product, but this is not very cool to edit a lot of products.

Have a look at this from my site and the respective z-indexes: The respective elements have the following properties: #elProfileHeader .ipsUserPhoto { position: relative; z-index: 1800; } element.style { left: 48.2188px; top: 48px; position: absolute; z-index: 5250; opacity: 1; display: block; } Curiously, if #elProfileHeader .ipsUserPhoto falls under 1000, everything is normal, with 5250 on top. Everything works normally on the default theme. This isn't really a custom theme; I've just changed the CSS rather than hacking the templates. Can anybody spot the cause? Here's the page where it's happening.

Is it possible to translate from the default English language by downloading the xml file? On the docs page this is not an option and when I do download, it is an empty xml file except for the info. I have bought a ready made translated language which I imported successfully but alas I need to do it all over as it was a literal translation making no sense in most areas. The other problem is that only system and forum was translated and I have no way of adding translation for the other applications I have such as Pages. Any hints will be appreciated.

Hi, It would be nice to get more metrics/statistics on forum usage. I am thinking of quota usage for attachments, we have set limits to different groups and it would be very nice to see if members are getting closer to the limits and potentially increase limits before they are hitting it. Any proposals on how to do it? / Joacim

My primary groups have no Group Formatting (so they use default colors), I have subscription, and this subscription assign secondary group with have new rules and Group Formatting. Hi, Looking for some help - If a subscription is disabled the it rightly doesn't show on the subscription purchases however it does show on the widget. I have a subscription that is for VIP's and a select few that cannot be purchased so I need it hiding on the widget. How do I do that?

Hey folks. When I click on a post in the forum's fluid display, for example a post located in forums > cars > audi it does not take me to that path, instead it renders the post off of forum root, like this: I notice it does the same thing here on IPS. Is there a setting for this. It confuses me, so reckon it's going to confuse my members too when I go live. Many thanks Chris

I see where I can limit a group to a certain amount of posts for a day. And under posting in general where I can set a time in seconds. Is there a way to limit time by group? Group one can only post every so many secords. And Group two has a different time limit? Or are groups settings just limited to daily posts? I want to limit posts to like 3 hours, would i have to put 10800 seconds? thanks. saraJ

Understand it was a groggy mistake over mobile. Accidentally flagged the person who reported a spammer instead of the spammer. My community is set to ban spammers and hide their content. Is there an easy way to quickly undo this and mass-unhide? It’s thousands of posts, so going page by page would be extremely tedious.

I currently have 2 subscription plans on my forum which are a "Yearly Subscription" and a "Lifetime Subscription" with 550 subscribers and 46 respectively. They have both been created using the Store and each one set up as a purchasable product. They were created before the specific subscription plans were built into IPS. My question is, the option to covert these into subscription plans exists within the forum itself and I wanted to know if its worth it and what I will lose and gain by doing so. Alternatively is it worth setting up the Subscription Plans along side the product type of subscription so all new subscribers can use the new system. Any advice…

When members create a new post, or even reply, is there a way to have "Notify me of replies" always defaulting to YES? I'm having members complain they forget to select it and then don't know if any replies. I'm trying to woo Facebook users back to my forum and it's hard work. 😉 Cheers, Lenny

Hi, I noticed if the file is using a non-common or custom extension for the upload field it will not append the correct file ending on the end anymore. For instance when you do a .mp3 file it will be like: hereismyfile.mp3.234324534565436.mp3 IPB seems to always add a hash, and then append the file ending again. However when using a custom or non common file ending it will not append it back to the end so then your left with a random hash as the file TYPE. hereismyfile.custom.234234234234 And it leaves it like that, therefore breaking the file and requiring a manual rename of the file by the end user. Is there any way around this..?

Trying to make an edit to GlobalTemplate in the theme editor and get the following error: "This theme file could not be saved". Assuming a permission issues / chmod issue, but not sure where it's looking that it doesn't have permission. Ran support tool and nothing showing up there. Ideas?

Hi guys, Fairly new and struggling for a guide here - Trying to understand how someone sets up a a paid club. I can't seem to find any options other than the a commision charge in settings.
