Matt got a reaction from Linux-Is-Best in Download and replace YouTube embeds
The YouTube embeds come from YouTube themselves. It's not a third party dependency.

Matt got a reaction from Daniel F in Can We Haz Blog Statistics?
Our blog is using Pages. We do track views, but they are just hidden from members.
It's worth remembering that guest views won't be completely accurate due to guest page caching and server level caching that will reduce the number of actual 'hits' to the database driven page.

We really try and avoid extra settings for minor interface elements like this. Generally when something changes there is a push back from experienced members, but over time this resistance fades and it's no longer a hot issue and they adapt their habits to suit.
Adding a setting adds extra technical debt to the product which means more inflection points for bugs, cross setting issues and so on.
If it's still a hot issue in a few weeks, please let me know and we can look at it again.

Matt got a reaction from Ibai in Why aren't posts numbered within a thread?
What would you do when posts are deleted? Renumber the posts so that "check out post 4 with the answer" no longer points to the actual answer (it's now post 3) - or leave gaps in the numbering so it's obvious when content has been merged, deleted or moved?

We've had this on our internal roadmap for a while, there isn't a set release or date, but it's something we do want to do.

Matt reacted to Jordan Miller in Can we get an agree or +1 reaction on IPS (or both)?
+1!
I like your suggestion a lot @Morrigan. I think a +1 would serve the community a lot more than "confused" or "sad" tbh. Maybe Invision can take a little peek at the percentage of how much the confused and sad reactions are used and if it's minimal, replace them with a +1 and see how it's used in the coming weeks. Nice idea.

Matt reacted to Morrigan in Can we get an agree or +1 reaction on IPS (or both)?
This is because there are a lot of opinion based threads here. I don't think "Like" is a good reaction when you want to agree or support what has been said in a thread but currently the only agreeable reaction.
Like is a broad (and at least for me) a very default way for people to respond/react to something that they simply think was a good read.
In some cases I would like to actually agree with what the member is saying or support it with a +1. To me agreeing versus liking something will give me a better way to show my appreciation to a members post.
An example a cute joke in the middle of an opinion thread would get a like or a 'haha' but something that brings up good points can get my 'agree'.

Which site it this? Looks trashy, I like it.

This is a good idea.

These days it takes generally less than a minute to upgrade to the latest version using the Admin CP auto upgrader.

Matt reacted to Editorn in Include image URL in RSS feeds
Better late than never, but we'd like to express our gratitude for implementing this feature – it is working perfectly now. Using RSS for generating newsletters and getting an image when aggregating with other news sources with images looks wonderful. Thanks for listening

Matt got a reaction from SeNioR- in Alternative to Amazon S3
Every integration point we put into Invision Community adds to the technical debt of the product. It means keeping abreast of changes to the API and adjusting our code as needed.
S3 is probably the most widely used system right now (and something we use natively with Cloud Communities). You are welcome to add a request for more to be added, and if there is demand for it then we will definitely consider it.

Matt got a reaction from OptimusBain in Feedback: Great feature - well executed
Appreciate the feedback, thanks!
We're constantly looking for new ways to improve content discovery. There are already widgets you can use to show popular content when viewing a topic list but we're definitely open to any ideas.

Matt reacted to Jordan Miller in What kind of blog content are you interested in?
Hey Invision fam, I'm interested in contributing blog posts to Invision related to either community building, social media and/or handy features in Invision.
Before I put pen to paper, err... finger to keyboard, I wanted to loop you guys in and see if you had any suggestions/ideas for blogs you'd enjoy reading.
These future stories will be fun, digestible content, but before I dive in I'd love your input!
Drop me a line in the comments 🙏
Just as a little FYI, I'm Invision's new Community Advocate. More on that here.
Let me know!

Matt reacted to Jordan Miller in To add TAG criteria into Create RSS Feed
@Maxxius Got an update for ya.
From what I gather, this is an implementation that should be doable in a future release. I can't make any promises yet, but it does appear to be something that can be done and isn't too resource heavy (yay).
I'll see if I can inspire this to reach our devs for some further feedback and when I hear back I will hit you up. 🙏

I definitely recommend disabling downvoting unless you have a very focused and trusting community.
