It's also be great to add custom variables or code to the tags. It's not possible with the advert system or with the analytics.

    I have two suggestions.
    1. Sorting defined messages on the list
    2. Create a category (+ can add permissions for a given category, but not necessarily). The categories will be "dropdowns".

Thankyou, but I already can't manage to find out how to create a block that displays a single topic last messages flow (?) Maybe it needs some specific php coding ? I'm not yet familiar with IPS API... 😞

You don't need a plugin to show the number of views in the topic summary. Simply add the following four lines to the theme file forums > topics > activity:
<li class='cTopicOverview__statItem ipsType_center'> <span class='cTopicOverview__statTitle ipsType_light ipsTruncate ipsTruncate_line'>{lang="views"}</span> <span class='cTopicOverview__statValue'>{number="$topic->views" format="short"}</span> </li> Insert the code on line 18, and the number of views will be shown next to the number of replies:

BTW @Adriano Faria do you have any plans for such features (even as paid addons)?
Widget/notice: list of quizzes that the currently logged in user has not completed yet. Different feedback text per quiz (with full editor).

The engagement and feedback in the Feedback forum has been much better recently.
I also want to affirm that telling clients "no updates at this time" is useful and welcome.  While we may die a little inside when we don't hear our ideas get picked up, it gives clarity to users.

When you paginate (which is an ajax refresh instead of a full refresh of the page) it would be nice if the editor didn't dump your data. I've done it on accident a few times but it would be nice to be able to move and review other posts sometimes in long threads and the only way to do that is to quote them all at once or have the thread open in a new tab.

The 'popular posts' bit in the new topic summaries are a step in the right direction. But there's so much more that could be done.

I was going to post a new topic about this, but figured I'd bump this. Here's what I wrote:
Genuinely disappointed in the lack of engagement on this. If it's a dumb idea that has been rightfully ignored for 3.5 years, say so and I'll be quiet about it. If I've missed some new option in 4.4, I'll put my hands up and apologise.
Edit: AND imagine how powerful this would be with social media promotion. Automatically (or automatically queue for admin approval) post to Twitter any post that gets X likes. The site would run itself!

I've just mentioned this twice in other topics with reference to the activity streams and search functions, but I'm sticking it up separately as I really do think it's important.
The use of the reputation system in content discovery seems to be zero. Here we are, our members telling us 'this is a good post' - and we don't seem to be able to use that info. Right off the top of my head here are some ways we could be using that information:
    1) Show me posts with 10 or more likes - instantly you're getting a 'best of the board' feed
    2) Search for posts in topics with '4.1 upgrade failed', rank by likes - you get solutions or explanations of the problem
    3) Show me posts by users with over 1,000 likes - find out what our most valuable users are saying
    4) Blocks of most popular posts over the last 7/28/365 days - showcase to new members of our  best content; stuff to highlight in the newsletter
    5) Show me my highest rated posts - the ultimate ego-search. What do people love most about you?
    6) People who liked this post also liked...
    7) Loads of others, I bet
I find it remarkable that the time was taken to let us filter by number of replies or views, but not by how GOOD something has been judged to be. Major missed opportunity, IMHO.
Now, it is traditional at this point for someone to point out that actually all of these things are possible, I just haven't noticed how. Do go ahead...

    Hi mates,
when "Post Before Registering" is enabled, is it possble to see Users who registered that way?
We enabled the feature quite a while ago, but I can't see how many registered through it.
I checked the user activity log on specific users and the statistics in general...
    Thanks,

I have been asking for many many years... i want a way to get a list/stream of of topics with NO replies, or list of topics with NO replies from a certain group - as a tool for moderators to help newbies and or make sure posts get attention.

I'd like to see the ability to create an activity stream based off of the number of replies, and whether or not an item is "repliable." In other words, show threads with X replies (zero as an example), yet only if a reply can be made.
This would help surface threads that no one has received a response to.

DamonT reacted to Pavel Chernitsky in What's going on with the app?
So, the "communities" app has been out as a beta since september - that's more that 5 months now. But since it's launch there were no updates on it regarding when to expect it to be "stable", we've had a completely "game breaking" bug with it (screen turns white once you log in) and there has been no fix, ETA on a fix, or any communication on the matter since our ticket was closed with a resounding "It's a beta".
Having an app that can push notifications to members' mobile devices was one of the major reasons that made us choose to move our community to IPS instead of other platforms. And for quite a while it feels like we're being toyed with.
Can we get some answers, updates, ETAs, or any kind of information regarding that very central and meaningful part of the service you guys are charging good money for? Or are we just going to stay in this loop of you making promises, us spending money, and then endlessly waiting for an implementation that never comes?

Actually, forums have been "paying" people for posting since the beginning of time.
We pay them in badges, in ranks, in pips, in titles, in signatures, in special permissions, in upgraded membergroups, in crazy formatting and styling.  We've been paying and paying since forums have been around.

I do have a little update regarding a native points system after circling back with the team :]
Of course there is nothing concrete. I'm told this would require a fairly large chunk of development time. There are a lot of moving parts and other priorities right now, however... I would take this as very good news as it's not a no 😄
If the Invision Community can generate enough interest in this idea, and ideally illustrate how points would be incorporated in a meaningful way in their own community, there'd be more momentum behind making it a priority. Again, can't make any promises, but the team is open to the idea, and that right there is a very good (and might be the most important) first step. 🙏

I purchased this addon but for a $35 app, the dev is not very responsive to questions and suggestions. The APP is missing so much vital controls, it makes it hard to use. I have a forum that pays members for posting but I must hard limit their group to xx amount of posts per day in order to stop them at a certain point from earning. It shouldn't have to be this way. If the user wants to continue posting and not care about points for rest of the day, they physically can't because of the way the app is. The app is not intertwined to the commerce exchange points for currency, so that's another flaw. The app doesn't support deletion of points for a post getting soft deleted, only perm deleted. I'd like to keep the post if a user gets warned as proof, but can't be bothered to deduct all the points. These things need to be automatic. I find it hard to continue using IPB because of these restrictions whereas Xenforo has DragonBytes credits which can do ALL of these features...
I'd love to see points be integrated with the actual software and support all of these major features which is very widely needed.

Perhaps this is a pipe dream, but as sub-economies have proven to be a very effective way of hijacking goal-oriented psychology I would love to see a native points system in IPB.
In such an application one could develop different "banks" for different types of points systems depending on the nature of your website.  Examples:
"credits" (for purchasing services, Store products, exchanging for cash donations to relevant charities) tokens (for gambling, buying bling for their online personae) hours (if you're like me, you sell hours of tuition and/or consultation) How might these points be accumulated/awarded?  Examples:
buying blocks of tokens/credits/hours in the Store buying Store products: buy product X and get Y amount of credits in points system Z having the highest-rated answers in a Q/A Support forum having the highest reputation in a given forum Awarding points to people who invite new members to your community completing courses or other certifications Other ideas:
Targeted emails to certain groups, or certain individuals when credits/tokens/hours are at X or 0 - time to get more!) Targeted emails to people indicating they've been awarded free tokens/credits/etc. Promotions where points are awarded under special circumstances from dates X to Y Toss tokens into a (virtual) fight pit and watch your community fight for them.  Cue the oldschool Star Trek fight music.  Dance, puppets, daaaaance! mwuahahaha) Hijacking goal-oriented psych--err, offering points could be a great way to spur development and participation in one's community.  They could also obviously be integrated into other apps (or other apps could make use of points) as part of competitions, e.g., submitting the highest-rated photos, articles, blog posts, etc.  The possibilities go on and on!
As some know there have been a couple of third-party devs who have made Points systems, but I have come to think that if one is going to embed something like this into a community (let alone a business) I wouldn't want to trust it to anyone but the core developers for updates and stability.
I obviously can't speak for others, but I for one would be happy to pay for this as an additional (optional) IPS module, similar to the way IP.Downloads is offered.
