LiveG reacted to Nathan Explosion in php8 upgrade
The PHP scanner introduced in a slightly later version of 4.7.x (which will effectively answer the question asked due to it not existing in 4.7.1)

LiveG reacted to Randy Calvert in sendgrid integration
DMARC is not a real issue. In fact, Invision does not have DMARC enabled either and their mail delivers fine.
If someone fills out a Contact form on your site (and you're configured to send that message as email instead of routing to a support request in Commerce app), that is an OUTBOUND from your site via Sendgrid to wherever you have your have your emails pointed to. If it's pointed to an email address that is on your domain (like webmaster@domain.com), Sendgrid does a MX lookup on the domain and receives Google's MX and sends there. It does not come back to your forum.
IPB does not have a concept of importing emails into your forum. (The Commerce app can fetch support tickets via POP3, but that's the only sort of way of getting email into IPB.). You can't send an email for example and have it post a topic or reply to a topic.
Think of it this way... let's say you have the domain "yourdomain.com". On IPB you send email as coming from "webmaster@yourdomain.com".
With Sendgrid setup, any email sent comes from webmaster@yourdomain.com. But you also have webmaster@yourdomain.com setup in Google.... you can send AND receive email from webmaster@yourdomain.com. That means if someone replies to the email sent from IPB, the reply will end up in your Gmail because it's the INBOUND MX record for your domain.
Sendgrid = Outbound email only
Google = Inbound AND outbound
Sendgrid sends mail on your behalf. It cannot receive anything. There is no way to have email come INBOUND into your forum. It's "exit only".

LiveG reacted to Kirill Gromov in New year’s resolution: Make the Marketplace great again
Cool topic, I will express my humble opinion, if possible.
1) I think a very small number of applications pay off (only a part, of which more than a hundred are bought), so I treat development as a way self-education and have fun. It's definitely not profitable! Big developers stay here because of third-party orders, no more, I think.
2) I think the marketplace is not very important for the IPS, since third-party developers have repeatedly approached with possible improvements, but the staff are kindly silent. One, two and many more..

By the way... I use Amazon's SES to send email via SMTP. In order to connect to it, you have to use TLS as the protocol and 587 as the port. But that can vary from provider to provider. That's why you may need to check with your hosting provider to see what settings they require.

@Runar Could you please consider shifting this app reasonability to another developer?
This app has a critical role on my site, so i am in lockdown.

You’ll need to ask the 3rd party developer to create the necessary extensions or have somebody else create the achievement extensions for it.

LiveG reacted to Marc Stridgen in My site is "choking"
You should indeed have all tables running INNODB, and its likely why you have queries with "Repair with keycache" showing there. While this may well solve the specific issue you are experiencing though, you need to contact your hosting company about the fact you have tables crashing repeatedly, as that is an issue on the mysql instance itself.

LiveG reacted to AlexWebsites in My site is "choking"
I just noticed that mysql process on my server is at times peaking over 100% which I find odd. I've killed the process a few times to watch it go back up. I'll have to dig in. Running the latest IPS version and mysql 8.

LiveG got a reaction from Adriano Faria in Followed Member Notification
At default state, if you are following someone on the forum, you get a notification on every newly opened topic, and every new reply is made by the user you followed. (It's a lot of notifications!)
The user should have the option to choose which item content he should get a notification on. (only new opened topic/every new replies/both/specific forum/ etc)

LiveG reacted to Adriano Faria in Followed Member Notification
That’s not possible. You follow a topic. You can’t follow a post.

LiveG reacted to Dll in Shared Login Detector
This isn't proving too useful to us as it currently works, unfortunately.
As it only sets the cookie when the user logs in, it's setting very few as most users just stay logged in for a long period. It also doesn't pick up new registrations as they log in either.
Also, although it's not as useful as the cookie detection method, the ip method isn't using the x-forwarded ip if that is used on the forum, so gives most users the same IP on our community.

LiveG reacted to Adriano Faria in Quizzes
Hello,
No, that’s not possible.
You need to set the right answers when you’re adding questions and answers.
But that’s an interesting idea. I might consider as a new quiz type for a future version.

LiveG reacted to Miss_B in Shared Login Detector
Yes, that is correct.
Yes, all logins after the installation of the app will be stored automatically for any user regardless of their registrations time.

LiveG reacted to teraßyte in (TB) Bump Up Topics
I'm back. I'll be checking the error as soon as I'm done catching up with things.
Hmm, I don't see many people using this feature honestly. The plugin was initially made to allow users to bump their own topics.
If there is enough interest from other people I can consider adding multi-bump from forum view in a future release. I'll just keep the idea in a corner of my mind for now.

LiveG reacted to David N. in Notify member who reported a post when comments added to report
I wish the member who reports something was notified when an action is taken on the report (a mod adds a comment, deletes the reports or mark it as completed).

Thanks @Miss_B, I appreciate the answer. The description of the app doesn't sound like it's doing what I'm requesting, which is that when a moderator either comments on a report or takes an action on that report, the user gets a notification. Not a private message, but a notification.

LiveG reacted to Marc Stridgen in ipb badges
Those are part of our default system. When upgraded from the old system, you will have been asked if you wish to keep your own ranks. If you chose yes, these wouldnt have been imported.
Should you wish to import the default sets of ranks, rules, and badges, the import files for them can be found in the following location in a fresh download
\applications\core\data\achievements

LiveG reacted to Nathan Explosion in (NE) Media Recorder
Ok...so no integration required in that case. I'll post this over in the support topic for the other app.
