Hi @Marc Stridgen you nailed it. I just tuned mysql and now notifications is super quick. Thank you!

Chris027 got a reaction from SeNioR- in Slow Notifications Popup
Hi Guys, I just moved to a new server that's has much faster hardware, but is geographically much further from me. I noticed that when I click on the Notifications icon, the ensuing popup (see screenshot below) takes much longer to appear than it did on the old server. It takes a solid 4-5 seconds to appear.
Does anyone know how to speed this up, or what cause this?

Chris027 reacted to Afrodude in rebuildSearchIndex - OutOfRangeException (0)
I had same errors whenever I updated yesterday, and after the search index was rebuilt, I don't see the error no more. Yet, if I want to rebuild it again, the error will show again.

It should be good now, if you want to try again.

Ah, the infamous HostGator... 😅
Without getting into too much detail, have you looked at other hosting services (not owned by EIG) that can offer similar packages for similar pricing? Are you on their shared or dedicated hosting service?
Moving to a completely new server that has PHP 8 isn't entirely a negative thing, but you'd think they could install it on your existing server.
Happy to go into further detail about my experiences with HostGator via private message.

Chris027 reacted to Randy Calvert in CloudFlare settings
You can test it pretty easily by changing Cloudflare's status to OFF. In the DNS settings, change the orange cloud to grey.
However instead of just saying "pretty sure", I would recommend using some sort of performance monitoring solution for a period of time with Cloudflare on and off to get actual supporting data. Guessing based on "feel" is a bad judge of efficacy.

Chris027 got a reaction from cualupe in Site goes blank when switching to PHP 8.1
I’d try the default theme and if that doesn’t work try disabling apps/plugins.
Theme is easy to try. If it works, it’s a problem with the theme you’re using.

Chris027 got a reaction from Adlago in Got stuck during upgrade to 4.7.4
I didn't. I finally gave up and came here, only to find out I should've come here in the first place. Looks like an IPS issue.

v1.7.2 is currently pending approval
NEW
IP address of sender is available in tracker logging begins after update to this version. IP addresses will be pruned from the tracker if the IPS setting 'Prune Member IP Addresses' is configured to do so. FIXES
fixed issue when a logged in member uses the form, the 'Display message' would always be displayed above the 'Your message' editor regardless of the configuration in place for the 'Display message'. -

I'd love passkey support.
For anyone who wants to know a little bit more, here's a fairly good article - https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2022/10/passkeys-microsoft-apple-and-googles-password-killer-are-finally-here/
