With the 30th October fast approaching, will market place purchases  and keys still be available after the 30th. Some developers have still not got their sites setup or an alternative way of accessing brought files. Thank you

Yes, that license key information will be available for a good amount of time. You won't be able to download anything from the Marketplace after October 30th.

  2. Hold on. You're trying to run the UTF8 converter on your website that already has a working Invision Community 4 install? (the URLs match in all of your screenshots). That's why you're seeing the "Error" page telling you not to proceed. This tool should only be ran on 3.x databases, running it on 4.x databases may irrecoverably damage your data.

Based on the second screenshot's error, it's possible the UTF8MB4 charset is not available on your server. You should check with your hosting if that's indeed the case. 🤔

And to add... If it doesn't, then the server won't meet the minimum requirements to use Invision Community either.

    Hi @Stuart Silvester

Many dev's whom we bought apps/plugins do not provide a site for support, can you enable download for the app's we bought from marketplace for the issue I talk about.

    Thanks

Most developers appear to have plans to or have already put in place alternative places to obtain resources. If you haven't heard anything yet from a developer you get resources from, it may be worth sending them a PM.

Don't post your license keys publicly, that would let anyone else use them as proof of purchase when they haven't purchased and you may lose access to it.

I'm pretty sure it used to throw an error in the past. Maybe a recent code or CKEditor update allows it now. 👀

We've supported paste from clipboard for quite a long time.

No, it's not the "copy image link" that doesn't work -- it's the "copy image". It allows you to post the image in the editor while typing, and shows it as an image (shown in the screengrabs above). But when I click the "Submit Reply" button, it then changes it to what looks like a link but is not actually a link. I am wanting to store all images in my system, not link to outside things.

Which browser are you using and where are you trying to copy from?

What's the current backlog time for additions to the providers list?  Thank you.

Any outstanding should be reviewed this coming week

So the 'My Purchases' page still be available when the marketplace shuts down?

I still have a lot of add-ons with no provider's names next to them 😞

Yes, it'll be available for a while yet (no current plans for an end date to remove it)

It would also be convenient for us users to have an xml export of the list...

    • Product name
    • License
    • Purchased data
    • Expired data
    • Provider (if not available, developer name, the blank space now is a little scattered, it almost looks like deleted the developer)

Most customers don't have that many purchases to warrant the time spent on that.

How do the members of my community even get to know about this community hive. There is no button on the posts to show that they can follow the website there. I can only assume that this has something to do with the fact that I am using a 3rd party theme. I'd love to be able to get support for this ,but it brings me to...

Yes, it may be related to having a third party theme if you're not seeing the buttons in the follow drop down.

There's also a widget/block you can drag and drop onto your pages to prompt your members to use Community Hive.

  9. The Marketplace is closing on October 30th 2023. If you haven't already read the announcement, please read it first.

As our Marketplace prepares to close its doors, we want to ensure a seamless transition for our customers. To facilitate this process, we're introducing a new 'license key' system to allow you to transfer your purchases to the third-party developer website in a privacy-conscious way.

On the 'My Purchases' page, you'll find an improved layout displaying each resource you've purchased from the Marketplace. This includes the original purchase date, the expiry date (if applicable) and the current renewal term (if applicable).

Additionally, we've added two new enhancements. First, you'll notice the purchase-specific license key (depicted as XXXX in the screenshot). This license key is accessible to the third party author and can be provided to them through their website or other means. It enables them to confirm your payment for the resource and check its activation status. Secondly, we've added a link to their profile in the Providers Directory (if applicable).

    Could contain: Page, Text, File

You can find contact details and a link to the provider's website on their profile. We hope that these additions will help make the transition as smooth as possible.

    Third Party Developers

Developers can now access the new 'My Sales' area, where you'll find a searchable list of resources that have had sales on the Marketplace. This list may include resources that were previously hidden.

Could contain: Page, Text, File, Webpage

Clicking on any of these resources will display a list similar to the old 'my paid files.' Here, you'll find detailed information for each purchase, including purchase and expiry dates. Additionally, the list now includes the customer's current renewal term, which may differ from the initial purchase due to pricing changes.

Furthermore, you'll notice the new license key, conveniently searchable in the top right corner. We've also made the list of purchases available in CSV format, allowing for easy integration into your own website or marketplace.

    Could contain: Page, Text, File

Please let us know if you have any questions and we hope these new tools will ease the transition from the Marketplace.

I have mixed regrets about the whole thing but at the end of the day, if it's not sustainable as a loss-maker for IPS, I understand it has to go. I certainly won't miss the Marketplace approval queue!

I've read concerns about having to browse and check dozens of sites to get updates. I think the update check will still work though, unless I've missed something, so it should be simple to see a new update is available for apps, plug-ins and themes.

    Could contain: Text

You click on it like now and it takes you to where you can download the available update.

Yes, that will still work if the resource has the update check URL populated and the author has their side of it implemented.
