AlexWebsites got a reaction from sobrenome in Amazon SES API For Sending Mail
@Lucas James are you using amazon ses via smtp? If so, do you find its a little slow when posting in your forum? Ever since I switched to Amazon SES from Sparkpost API, seems slower.
Would love to see IPS make the API a sending method as a native feature like sendgrid, but would settle for a plugin like the sparkpost api plugins made by @HeadStand and @Callum MacGregor

Would be great to have an option for using Amazon SES API like sendgrid or when sparkpost was available. I’m using Amazon SES over SMTP, but I believe using their API would be better.

Try this in custom.css
body[data-pageapp="cms"][ data-pagelocation="front"][data-pagemodule="pages"][ data-pagecontroller="page"] .ipsType_normal:not( .ipsType_richText ) { font-size: 8px; text-transform: capitalize; }

AlexWebsites got a reaction from Jordan Miller in Just tried the mobile app... Yikes.
I'll agree it should be faster loading. Its a step in the right direction and having an app should create more user engagement. Without monetization, I'm probably not gong to use it on my forums unless I can tailor it only be used to a particular user group.

My initial thoughts are that if you build a great product, it will become profitable.
If your site includes content outside of IPB, like Wordpress, then yes that will be an issue. I used to use Wordpress and IPB and made the decision in February to be fully IPB and it was the best decision I've made for my site (maybe ever). Simplifying is important.
Custom features and skins... I love my theme, but I also love the simplicity of an app. If there were a few color schemes for sites to choose from that could suffice in the beginning.
Additional costs to maintain an app... if it's packaged in with IPB then I imagine it wouldn't be too costly as it would be the service they are providing a for an annual fee (perhaps).
Decreased monetization... apps can implement advertising. I was thinking of giving my paying subscribers access to the app, so it would be monetized that way for me.
SEO... yea, that's a good point. However, the app would be in addition to your live site just like how this community currently is. 🙂

It needs to be improved, one giant thing being is the overall speed of the app. It takes awhile before it opens up. Much faster to open chrome and enter the url. 🙂
I'm positive guys at IPS will figure this out eventually. Tapatalk app has a decent speed so why not IPS app too? 🙂

AlexWebsites reacted to Gabriel Torres in [This Forum] Can you please enable 2FA here?
Hi,
I noticed that you guys haven't enabled 2FA here in the Invision Community/Client Area. Could you please do that? I am enabling 2FA in all my accounts everywhere.
Thanks.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from sobrenome in Google AdSense Auto Ads
For anyone using Ezoic, do you end up using your own adsense account and still see earnings in adsense or is it all through ezoic? I'm currently using adsense directly because I had too many styling issues with auto ads and didn't see a difference in earnings.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from sobrenome in Google AdSense Auto Ads
All I did was create a custom ad tag and insert that tag into the global template. Within the ad settings, I have it showing to guests only. I did nt use any IF statements.
It seemed to display more ads on mobile and it feels like it's slowing down the site a bit on smaller screens. I have everything on in adsense to show and it's too early to make a judgement so I'm going to continue to leave it up for a few days.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from sobrenome in Google AdSense Auto Ads
Has anyone here implemented Google Adsense Auto Ads? Might be too early to tell if it is working well because it seems to have just been introduced this week, but just curious on thoughts.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from AtariAge in Should be possible to move topics from search result set
I’m doing this now a little per day for the last week on one of my sites and it’s brutal. Would love to search for a keyword or phrases and move those topics accordingly in bulk.

AlexWebsites reacted to Morgin in VIDEO/CAM/CHAT APP for IPS Community
Supporting video chat requires a platform and company that is probably at a minimum twice the size of Invision is currently just to deal with the rapidly changing landscape and support requirements.
There’s a reason companies that succeed try to focus on doing a few things extremely well vs. trying to do everything and having half baked and poorly supported versions as a result.
I’d love for Invision as a company to be so successful that they could grow into other markets, but at the moment they are doing a great job of community software. Stepping up to try to compete with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. to provide a video chat solution would not be a great outcome without a few hundred million in cash to burn to hang with the big players are try to hive off market share.

I would like to see the API supported just like the sendgrid one is. Maybe sendinblue.com as well.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from sobrenome in Google Adsense Monetization Optimization *Uber* Thread
Good topic, can I ask you...Are you using adsense auto ads exclusively instead of using their asynchronous ad tags for different placements? How is auto ads working for you, revenue better or worse? I tried using it back in February but took it down in favor of individual ads.

AlexWebsites reacted to Kjell Iver Johansen in [Question] Advertising Newer Communities
I think look and feel means nothing. It is content that is the most important key to success. If you have great content then you get users. It is easier to start up a new site if you are more people doing it together. Engaging friends and more friends and friends of friends, to create good content.
People need a reason to register.

AlexWebsites reacted to GTServices in Highlight : SEO Plugin > avoid Google Panda penalty
The issue here is that Google will still go to those pages crawl and at some point index. This process takes away from indexing more important pages in a timely manner. (They will continue to revisit the page; Otherwise, comments would be ignored.)
This affects people with lots of pages especially if you just migrated to a new system or rebuild your sitemap. You want to help Google as much as you can. It benefits you the most.
(I removed my previous comment that was here as I believe it will just confuse more than help)
The goal is to get Google to index/rank your quality pages faster asap.

You’re not allowed to say that. What are SEO companies supposed to sell if Google takes care of things itself?
