Joel R reacted to DawPi in Account Credit by default
Pretty easy.
Look:
Plugin: (DP44) Account Credit by Default on Checkout.xml
Of course it's simplest way to make it, without more checks, but it's a good base. You may use it and tweak if you want to of course.

Joel R reacted to VaBeach_Guy in Upgrade from IP. 3.4.x to IPS4.0 (updated)
Apparently, there a bunch of topics which had no content, no date, no title, no author, nothing. How that happened, I have no clue. But they fixed the issue and I was able to finish the upgrade.

You can request additional features in hsi support topic.

Joel R got a reaction from Fosters in The Mysterious Our Picks Page
There are no settings in IPS, but there are some applications in the Marketplace that can adjust Our Picks. One of them is by @Fosters

Tagging @Daniel F, he's talked about a 'tour' before.
The difficulty with these kinds of systems is that every community is different. You may launch with the forums, but another community may launch with a custom homepage. I think the best thing you can do within the ecosystem are things like a slider, profile completion, or info boxes that only show to new registrants.

Oh, there’s a free plugin for this:
As you said “new registrant”, I supposed it was new member in your community.

Hi @Ford Focus Owners Club congrats on becoming the new forum owner!
1. Do you have IPS Cloud or your own cloud? If IPS cloud, then send in a support ticket and they can assist.
2. You may want to reach out to some users on the Providers page who can help you migrate over. They're not affiliated with IPS but many of them have years of experience with the software and server migrations. You can check out users like @ASTRAPI @Makoto or @Spanner who can help you not only move over, but also upgrade to 4.4.

Can the campaign be one email (or must it be several emails?)

Is it a background process? Any performance impact on high traffic boards?

Can there be a trigger once a member hits X content items?
(On second thought, I don't think that's needed - at least in my case. I use the Group Promotion tool in IPS, which promotes the user to a new membergroup, and I can let that be the trigger).
This is a very nice app, glad you released it. I like the idea of sending out educational tutorials and how-to's at the point of interaction.

Hi, I followed this file when it was first posted but forgot about it (my excuse is a global toilet paper shortage), and I'm revisiting it now. It looks like a great app
Can you add triggers for:
- start first album
- start first blog
- start new club
- expire purchase

Joel R got a reaction from Joy Rex in Community Guide on Setting Up Wasabi and CloudFlare
One of the biggest reasons for switching from AWS S3 to Wasabi is that you can use Cloudflare.
Even if you don't have a need for third party storage like Amazon S3 or an S3 compatible storage, you should be investigating Cloudflare anyways with your server admin.
-
Joel R got a reaction from Emediate in Files - Third Party Hosted?
Yes, absolutely it can.
IPS supports Amazon Web Services (AWS) for storage and delivery. Keep in mind that you will incur incidental costs for storage, bandwidth, and potentially CDN delivery.
Guide: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/advanced-options/server-management/configuring-amazon-s3-r230/

Joel R got a reaction from gaapgeek in Notifications for all articles within a Pages database?
Yes, there should be an option to 'Follow' the category or individual articles within the category.
There's also a Marketplace file to force all new members to auto-follow certain content. You'll need to do your own investigation to see if it's appropriate for you.

Joel R got a reaction from kmk in Community Guide on Setting Up Wasabi and CloudFlare
It was primarily a cost reduction move for storage + bandwidth compared to AWA. I'm saving ~$80 mo, which comes out to a thousand dollars per year. That's not an insignificant amount of money. Amazon S3 is very expensive on egress bandwidth (the storage is cheap, the bandwidth is where they get you); Wasabi is free egress.
If you're already on Cloudflare, you probably won't see a performance improvement.
(On a further note, if anyone is considering Wasabi, I highly do not recommend US-EAST-1. There experiencing considerable growth pains on that server). They don't have enough throughput capacity, so their get and put are both degraded. Their other locations are probably fine.

@rebraf is as close as you will get to a Tier 3 IPS developer in the IPS Marketplace, so you can consider his files to be on par with core development.

Joel R reacted to Colonel_mortis in Send email notifications only when offline
It would be great if there was a user option to only receive email notifications when they're offline, or to get a summary email of the notifications that they've missed if they don't visit the site for some period of time (as Stack Overflow does).
There's no point getting email notifications when you're actively browsing the site, but equally if you're only an infrequent visitor you don't want to miss any replies to things that you're interested in or that you posted, and something like this would strike that balance (while also helping to boost retention in a user-friendly way).
