Joel R got a reaction from Marc Stridgen in Event Listing Cover Photo Sizing
Cover photos in IPS are tricky, because as Marc has pointed out, the cover photos are responsive and will stretch depending on the size of your window.
In all the years that I've seen people struggle (myself included), the best ones that I've seen are where you have a repeating pattern which work regardless of the dimensions.
The cover photos where you have one large focal point will always be either too small or too large.

Joel R got a reaction from Randy Calvert in ACP Recent Searches
Hi,
I'm at a point in my community's maturity where I spend more time in the community ACP than the front-end investigating membership issues, checking saved reports, or auditing permissions.
This is a minor suggestion but I think it would offer a huge efficiency improvement for admins who are short-on-time and big-on-problems (ha): to offer a recent search history from the ACP search bar.
It could capture the last several searches or clickthroughs from the ACP search, such as:
Member emails Member usernames Settings Reports, etc. -
Joel R got a reaction from Marc Stridgen in Cannot moderate private messaging abuse
1. I'm giggling at the cleverness of humanity to continue to find creative new ways to be an @$$ to other members.
2. You may want to investigate some member group settings. For example, you can restrict members from deleting their own personal messages. This does pose other consequences, such as accruing a lifetimes worth of personal messages.

Joel R got a reaction from SeNioR- in WebP images are not scrollable in lightbox
A user on my community brought this to my attention. I think this may be intended behavior by Google chrome, but should be something reviewed for an overlay by IPS
WebP images open in a new tab, and are not scrollable like JPG

Joel R got a reaction from SeNioR- in Promotion : modify post's content limitation ?
Just delete or remove enough characters, and then you will be able to post. You are able to edit or type in that box.
This happens to me all of the time. I either truncate the content or override all of the content with my own quick summary.

Joel R got a reaction from CheersnGears in We need webp NOW
1. Webp is not a niche image format anymore. Full stop. While I could understand that argument in 2015, webp is now almost universally supported by all browsers:
https://caniuse.com/?search=webp
2. The grand irony - or perverse absurdity - is that my own website delivers images as webp via my Cloudflare. I literally have users who have downloaded my site's images, but can't upload them back to my site! That comes across as distinctly discrepant.

Joel R got a reaction from Claudia999 in Invision Community 4: Pages databases in Clubs
1. Will Clubs show the Page that contains the database category, or only the Database itself.
The Page that contains the database often contains elements like filters or custom widgets. Whereas the Database is, well, just the database template.
2. Show Club Content Areas - This setting is all or nothing to all content areas in all clubs. This is an overly broad setting.
I can see how admins may want to show club Pages database in the Pages database, but perhaps not at all club nodes (or vice versa).
3. News - This is more of an observation, but it's clear that the overwhelming common usage - albeit not the only one - is simply the need for News. IPS may want to think about shipping a simple News function for clubs. I have several clubs where the owners have used Blogs for several years now as a news system.
4. Search - Will members who don't have permission see search results, profile activity, and / or activity stream from club database fields?
5. Choice of Databases - Will admins be able to choose which databases can be displayed in clubs, or is it all or nothing?
I like the concept of integrating Database categories into Pages and its giving me some food for thought of building some foundational databases that any of my 40+ clubs can use.

Joel R got a reaction from Marc Stridgen in Pre-defined Alerts
Hi,
I like the concept of Alerts, but I find myself sending out the same Alerts over and over again.
I'd like to suggest the ability to predefine Alerts, so I can quickly choose from a dropdown list.

FYI just in case you're not aware, Invision Community offers a feature Saved Actions for the Forums. It's basically predefined 'moderator rules' and can be quite powerful.
You can also define Alerts in advance, which I find to be useful if you're giving the same information (either positive or negative) to users.

Does the new editor tie into a Page builder update?
Any leaks on what new editor you're using?

Joel R got a reaction from Sonya* in Banned account in the Trial
Has IPS ever considered ...
Adding default widgets or alerts to their trial version for:
- Where to go for help
- How to buy
- Getting started guides, etc.
You have a consumer that is incredibly engaged at this point of the sales funnel.

Really like the improvement to Tabs on Profiles on mobile, with the horizontal scroll.
The dropdown menu in v4 basically hid all of the tab options unless you knew of the tabs in advance.

Joel R got a reaction from Maxxius in Better image upload & image Resizing For Topics
Some thoughts (as one of my communities is very image heavy):
- Make sure you and your members know that you can drag and drop into the upload bar. You do not need to click on Insert.
- As @Clover13 mentioned, you should target maximum image dimensions to control the idea display size.
I've bucketed some different kinds of images posters:
- The casual image posters. They wouldn't use the resize even if presented as an option.
- The heavy image posters. These are my members who are posting 10 images per post, and making multiple posts They know about the resize option, but they're not using it.
- The blogger. These are people writing specialized articles with custom layouts and offsetting images. They're the few people who actually care about image alignment and image resizing.
- The admin or moderators doing announcements. We know all the tricks anyways.
