The base problem appears to be that your server is not allowing the software to create files/folders. Note the error:
IPS\File\Exception: CANNOT_MAKE_DIR (6)
You need to confer with your Host to both address that error, and also what permissions should be used for the files and folders in your webspace. Normally, folders are set to 0755 and files to 0644.
(One other issue is that you are using an old version, 4.4.x, and need to upgrade. There have been hundreds of bug fixes since that version was released.)
If that does not help, please let us know.

Which is beyond the scope of support that IPS can provide. They don’t know what that user or group is or what settings are applied. If the user is truly worried about what others on the server might do, they should not be running in a shared environment and instead use a VPS or something else with an isolated container.

There is alternatively, the ability to turn on the ability for the topic starter and moderators to mark a post in a Discussion forum as a "Solution." This is kind of a hybrid approach between the two and what we use here. It does not, however, include the other options in the QA forum style.

You would need to purchase a self-hosted license in order to have access to the software files.

That's not possible in the current version, only one ad will be displayed at a time, selected randomly. I think there is a 3rd-party plugin that will do what you describe, however I don't remember its name. You may wish to check our Marketplace.

You can literally use profile fields for this!
Create a new Profile Field with the type "Select" called "Interests". Keep in mind that profile fields don't have to be shown anywhere. So if you want to use them only for the bulk mail or group promotion, you can:) Members can set their interests by setting the field. Create your group promotion or bulk mail and use the Interests profile field filter to sent / promotion only the users which are relevant.

If there is no entry with an error in the Email Logs, then the email has been handed off to the server (via PHPMail or SMTP).
What happens to it after that, if the email is not delivered, is something your Host would need to investigate. They also would be the ones to make sure the correct SPF, DKIM, and rDNS Records are in place to help insure delivery.

If this test install is on the same server as your live site, please make sure you review the file storage settings so they point to the test install and not the live install (as those are physical paths and not tied to the site URL itself).

You have to make the System app your default app, and then the Content Discovery module your default module within that app.
You can do this via System > Applications in the Admin Control Panel. Click the star next to System to make that your default module, and then open the dropdown to reveal the various modules within that app, clicking the star next to Content Discovery.

Please keep in mind that the ability to rename the ACP folder is going to be deprecated in a future release. We do not recommend doing that.
Instead use the 2FA feature to secure your ACP, and you can also add an .htaccess  login form to its folder for an extra layer of protection.
(If you want to be even more secure, and assuming your staff have IP Addresses which do not change frequently, you can use an "allow,deny" block in it with those IP's to further secure it.)

That's correct, if you add the two CNAME Records, that will not affect your main site.
Once the Records are added, just reply to the email you received. We'll do the rest.

Just to add on to what Mark said, while you are more than welcome to use your software on version 3, it is extremely recommended to upgrade to the latest release of version 4 as version 3 is no longer in development and no longer receiving security releases or bug fixes.  Let alone the infrastructure (PHP, MySQL, Apache, etc...) which is required to run version 3 also is no longer supported by their respective authors so it is highly recommended to upgrade our software and your infrastructure so you are not at risk, and receive bug fixes, support, etc...
