That's a nice widget, but I want to view this data in the same context as a custom stream.
The stream creation just needs to add the necessary logic to filter out items that have no replies.
And the stream could be made default or shared.

Only been asking for this since 2009

This has thankfully been fixed in 4.3.4

With the sitemap in 4.3.3 and 4.3.4 now fixed, my indexing has gone up from 17849 pages to 22,229 (pretty much over the last 4 weeks) with just about the same submitted, less the new content. I do believe adding the timestamp helped and I'm still waiting for all my images to be indexed because before the latest ips sitemap change, google was not picking up the extra image sitemap or video sitemap. Now there is clearly a content section for images and video as separate sitemaps within the sitemap.  I do think there is an opportunity for those that want to use it, to include additional topic and other secondary content pages in the sitemap as well as a news sitemap for those that use the pages app.

Please, add the ability to ignore content itens on streams. There isn’t much sense in ignore someone else’s posts and then have streams constantly bumped with topics/posts made by a ignored user.
    Tks.

I did implement all mods and am seeing positive results since I did it. At a low point I had 111,000 indexed, which really makes no sense at all given that I have nearly 1M posts, well over 100K topics, and an article site also that has 5K articles. As you can see it is going up fast now, and is up to 187,000. Since there are built in canonical links, I would not block anything in the robots.txt file:

Just so you know, we're watching this topic and looking at our own stats to build a better picture.
    The facts we know:
    1) Almost every site I've got access to (via friends, etc) have seen a massive drop since June of indexed pages. This is not exclusive to Invision Community powered sites. I've seen the same with Wordpress.
    2) Google slipped in an update in 2017 to target several things, one of these things is poor backlinks and other poor quality links. It looks like this means that user profiles that have no content have been dropped from the index along with links that 301. That is fine. You don't want Google storing the 301 link, as long as it stores the real link (and it does seem to).
    3) A drop in what is indexed doesn't actually correlate to the health of the site. We've seen our index volume drop, but clicks, engagement and discovery slightly increase (probably due to better quality results?)
As always, Google say nothing so we're left guessing.
We will look at stopping user profiles from being submitted. For example, we see nearly 380k links as 'discovered' but Google has chosen to not index them. Looking through the list, it's all user profiles.
    This means:
    1) Sitemaps are working fine. There's no massive problem with them that correlates with a drop in indexed pages
    2) The cornerstones of good SEO are taken care of in the software
    3) Google is being weird and mysterious as always.
What can we do in the short term?
    1) Stop sending profiles with no content to the sitemap. They are now ignored and Google appears to be dropping them from its indexes
    2) Add in nofollow on links that 301 so Google doesn't bother 'discovering' them at all.

sudo reacted to Aramaech in Support for YouTube live stream embed
It's currently not possible auto-embed a YouTube live channel into a post.  The editor returns the error: Could not embed because there is no video at this location.
Embedding the current live stream is possible, but the url changes after each stream.  Making all possible embedding of a live stream impermanent.  This can amount to quite the pain depending on how often the live stream is used.

The current method for permanently embedding a YouTube live channel, rather than a specific video (the url of which will change after each live stream) is described neatly here:
    http://www.codeprocedures.com/question/how-to-embed-youtube-live-chat-with-url-permanent/
As is some suggested php to get the current live chat (the url of which also changes with each live stream, also making it an impermanent embed only).

The ability to embed a YouTube live channel would be useful for anything from gaming to conference calling.
And not having to change the link after each stream in order to do so would be wonderful, but having a permanently embeddable live chat would be the piece de resistance

Post 4.2 I would love it if you added the ability to migrate a club into a group collab. The big plus for clubs for us has been the ability to import vb4 social groups and I would love it if I could then migrate some of them across to group collabs for extra functionality.

For forum attachments, can you offer an option to make thumbnail images as inline attachments (eg. 5 to a row, instead of 1 per row)

One of my posters wrote a compelling explanation of why he prefers the image board in IP.Board rather than IP.Gallery after I explicitly recommended he switch over to the gallery in lieu of our community's image boards.
    Takeaways:
Queue need drag-and-drop re-order of photos  Albums need to be created faster. Albums need permissions for registered members to upload Albums need batch tagging to relate content to each other Better aggregation and display of comments per album

If I'm working on a long article or post that has multiple links and I accidentally click one of those links while I'm trying to edit it, the editor often has not yet saved any draft input yet and my whole article gets wiped out.
I just lost about 45 minutes of work this way and this has happened to me multiple times.

I think the leaderboard is a fantastic addition to PS, used in the right way it would promote fun engagements.
I have some further ideas which I feel would make it better.
Notify members that they have lead (Daily/Monthly) One thing is within many communities I am sure most are unaware of the feature, to promote the fun engagement and to encourage activity it would be nice to see members being told automatically.
I'd like to see team members and members separated, create more friendly competition but IMO, team members within sites are always likely to lead. Just look at IPS, it's mostly staff members or popular developers, this cuts so many people who make great efforts. Within my own community, it's usually always me or one of my team members and I think it would be nice to split it up. I have some other suggestions, however these are the main areas. I'd love to see other clients make suggestions!

sudo reacted to Daddy in Activity Stream +Options
The activity stream is a great feature but it lacks the filter options and prevents overall customization of feeds. Here's a few examples of filtering I would like to see included out of the box. I have a category to greet members and birthdays that spam the feed and I currently have no option to hide them.
    Filter by Tags
Along side only pulling certain tags there should be an option to exclude certain tags. For example, topics I don't want to be shown on the default stream I can add the tag: Private without having obey with the topic permission settings.
    Filter by Category
Allowing or disallowing certain categories from displaying on the default stream to allow webmasters to prevent certain categories or create exclusive streams for any one or multiple categories to display on one feed.
    Filter by Group
This concept can easily be nulled by the filter by tags and category submission but adds another universal filter for webmasters to utilize. This option can also bypass the filters by simply disallowing certain groups' posts from displaying such as the group System that a lot of communities have. As said above I have my system greet members and birthdays via threads that spam my default stream like crazy.

Please consider these additions as it would give more freedom to webmaster to customize their streams to accommodate their setups.

A pity as being able to select the subforums for the activity stream is a must for some communities. But while this is in revision, I have to say that the capacity of excluding subforums (rather than adding them in) would be even better, particularly when you consider some communities have many subforums and only a few of these are generally the ones people need to leave out. That's the way it's been in previous versions of IPB when it came to New Content too.

    Hi all,
Trying to make Pages similar in usability as Joomla, I suggest to include more templates for database, categories and listing templates. The category listing template is really ugly, they're articles, not a blog!
    I suggest to include
    a) The "recipes" and "release notes" should be included as default in every IPB Pages installation. It will not harm to add a lot of ways to show the information.
    b) Category listing should have options like database's  article template  (category 3 column feature image).  Some very nice things were done by users, why dont include them?

    c) Import/Export for data OR move content between databases.
Pages has a lot of potential, good for the admin, but regarding look & feel you must learn template syntax to do something nice.
    Best Regards!

    Hi,
It would be nice if we could mark one content read to unread & unread to read
Sometimes we read very fast a post and we want to read it later with more attention.
Also, on the moderator menu with the option Select rows > Unread, it would be nice to have the possibility to mark the content selected read (and the opposite too)
Is it possible ? or planned yet ?
    Thank you

In 4.1.12 (pending QA) - you can click load more, load more, load more, scroll down, click a topic, then click back and it will take you where you left off.
