    v1.1.0 is currently pending approval
    NEW
Setting added to assist with the situation where the custom profile field you wish to show is not set to be shown on the user's profile. You can now choose to see a listing of fields in the settings, based on: PROFILE = "Show on member's profile?" is set to something other than "Do not show" (this is the current behaviour, hence need for this new setting) EDIT = "Member can edit value?" is enabled. STAFF = field is editable by a staff member (for use when the above two don't list the field for you - if in doubt, select this one so you can see all fields)

So, after a little testing, a better explaination of the issue (for other's reading this) is that you can't see the profile fields in the settings of the plugin, if the profile field is configured as per your screenshot.
I'll have a think about possible changes here to accommodate whatever use-case you have for the above.

Claudia999 got a reaction from WP V0RT3X in More privacy on profiles
Please let's give our users more options to choose privacy on profiles.
Let they choose for every single profile field if other users could see the content.
Background or example: We have a health related community and want to have a profile field with details of diseases. Other profile fields are not so sensitive, they could be published for all registered users. But for this one field with disease details they should have the choice between showing other registered users or only admins.

Claudia999 reacted to Marc Stridgen in Font size on mobile screens
That is correct on mobile, as its sized to fit a mobile device. You would need to theme those mobile specific changes in CSS if you wish to increase that size

Please visit the support area of your admin CP, and apply the patch shown. This will resolve the bulk mail issue you are experiencing.

I applies to companies world-wide offering goods and services to EU citizens. It’s not a matter of the company being subject to local law, it’s a matter of wanting to to business with citizens of certain countries. Just as you cannot import illegal goods into a country independent of having a subsidiary in that country. Digital goods and services fall into the same category. Enforcement of these rules is a different matter, but claiming it wouldn’t even apply is factually wrong.
Please don’t add unnecessary side debates to this. You don’t have to get involved with every discussion here, you know?

The new version is submitted and is currently pending approval.
I'd mention it again; All of you will need to sign up for a new API at Geoapify. Your current API key from Mapquest will not work.

For all with the same question: Today I updated to 4.7.5 and the plugin works.

I have settled on a new API provider to replace MapQuest - Geoapify.
Geoapify have a free tier with far more requests per day than MapQuest had. I have been in contact with them today, and there are no limitations to how we use the API, as long as you stay under their daily limit. That limit is 3000 requests per day, which should be more than enough for most of you. This is not a hard limit, but should you constantly go over the quota they will send you an email asking you to upgrade your account.
See more about that here: https://www.geoapify.com/pricing

I have converted all API calls over to Geoapify today. Just needs some more testing before I can give you an update.
Too bad the marketplace doesn't offer a way to do beta versions, or even have private testers... Can't really do a public beta version either, as the approval time for new versions can be up to a week.

4.7.4+ requires PHP 8, it will not work with PHP 7. This includes the upgrade process

Why? I love it. So much better than uploading custom icons for „everything“ .
I‘m even using FA icons as custom forum and badge icons.

I think it was the language string „menutab__competition_icon“. You must not translate this language string.

    Hi @Ramsesx,
In our site it's translated in "Das war knapp! %s landete auf Platz %s im Fotowettbewerb %s."

Glad you got it solved 🙂

Regarding the API issues; I received news last night that MapQuest have (rather silently) decided to close all their "open" APIs, which sadly included the API used by Community Map. While there might have been possible to use other API endpoints provided by MapQuest, I will not do so because of how they've handled this and their lack of communication. I assume none of you got any news about this, even though they should be able to see that you are actively using an API that's about to be shut down.
As of the next update Community Map will not use MapQuest. I am currently exploring the possibilities to host this on my own, as there is a pre-compiled database available that doesn't have the same requirements as previously mentioned. I'm gonna check this out some more over the weekend, and I will hopefully have a solution within reasonable time.

I think most agree that the bureaucracy surrounding GDPR is silly (cookie pop-ups, accept T&S, etc, etc) although the core message of protecting personal information is good.

The embed notice is something we already have on our list but we don't have a release date for it at this time.

We would need consent banners or preloaded consent message for each embedded content, for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and so on.
    One example:

And as another example a solution for WordPress: https://www.altmann.de/en/blog-en/code-snippet-gdpr-compliant-youtube-videos/

That’s a valid issue though. It even got worse recently now that website owners are getting sued for loading Google fonts without “need”. And YouTube videos automatically loaded as iFrame contain them too – not to mention all the other calls to Google, Twitter, Facebook and so on for their embedded content.
