    1. Easy way to delete spammers. Sorry, going back and forth to delete spammers is boomer and when they start leaving messages on other users profile, it's mess.
    2. Easy way to change default options for notifications. No SQL query works at present to change those settings.
    3. Contact us.
    4. Clickable IP address as default rather then just IP address in user list. (i know there is one tutorial for it)
    5. Drag and drop feature to move PM to other custom folder.
    6. Default skins need some nice polish. Need to make it little compact and nicer.
    7. Pop Up when u select watch topic button rather then going to UCP and select options. (I had suggested this during 3.0.5 or 3.1.1.)
    8. RSS feeds. It's horrible in present state.
    9. Ability to short topics in category.

+the rest of above suggested by others :)

    Incredibly cavalier reply there, Brandon.

IPS doesn't advertise? How many IPB admins feel the copyright removal is too dearly priced and subsequently have a backlink to the IPS site, on every blinkin' page of their own sites? G'wan, tell me again how IPS doesn't advertise.

I suspect if we all had so many backlinks out there, our search engine traffic would be just as fine.

I appreciate Matt and the team have their own plans and are probably well on their way with 3.2, but here's what I'd like to see for CycleChat:

View new content - Show what is actually new (unread) content; show topics only (as opposed to multiple posts from the same topic). Hover preview (really liking the new version) - To work on forum view, all search results, and personal conversations - with ACP options for trigger time, and post-hover fade time. Thread marking - to mark up to where I have actually read in a thread, rather than marking the whole thing as read. (Matt has said this is on the list - yippee! ) Lighter CSS - There's tons of the stuff ... can it be made lighter by making more "global" style attributes (with the option of adding custom code if needed)? Better editor - I've lost count of the number of "issues" people have had with the post editor. Hopefully some improvements for 3.2? Emoticons as a pop-up perhaps? Simple alerts, likes, and trophies - Not strictly an "everyman" feature set, but after playing with xF this is something I think would greatly improve member-engagement at my site. Simple out-of-the-box Article system - IP.Content is great, but confuses the hell out of me. I just want a simple, categorised, article system where I select from a pre-built template, apply my site "style" as a wrapper, and then start adding articles. Expiring notifications - Once I've read a message, remove the notification about it. I'm sure I can think of others, but that's not a bad start for now.

    Cheers,
    Shaun :D

Gzipped sitemaps served to a handful of search engines won't present either a storage or bandwidth issue. It really comes down to resources used to generate the sitemap. I think you've made an unfair generalization regarding server resources. Not all forum software have issues generating complete sitemaps for large forums. Not even all sitemaps for IPB forums. Stoo's sitemaps appears to scale reasonably well. From what I've read, Icelabz's IPB Sitemap scales extremely well. It's a coding challenge, not a resource challenge.

IPB needs a feature complete sitemap. I applaud IPB for offering a sitemap solution. I like a lot of what you are doing. I only ask that you also consider the needs of large sites.

Finally, it doesn't appear that the sitemap is being used here. Any plans to implement it? site:community.invisionpower.com at Google currently shows me 23,600 indexed links. I would expect more on a PR7 page rank domain. I count roughly 60k public topics (not including pagnation), plus 148k members, plus blogs, gallery, resources... seems you could benefit from XML and HMTL sitemaps.

I believe a lot of people over time have asked IPS to make sitemap creation a core feature. Yet I reiterate this once more.

As you know CSEO was rendered useless, CSEO itself realized that and closed its doors. It seems that IPS really picked up on SEO but one thing is left unattended - sitemap creation.

I know that at least 3 mods exist to serve that function to some extent.

Why IPS can't create a sitemap generator so it would have a complete package for SEO. So the end-user wouldn't have to do anything in regards to SEO stuff.

Oh, I'd also like to follow up on one particular point in this topic, the idea of having all topics in the sitemap. There's a couple of reasons we're unlikely to ever expand it to do this:

    1. The main reason I chose to write this sitemap generator in the first place is that existing solutions either didn't check permissions properly, or they were not developed with big boards in mind. The latter part is what matters here, as anything we (IPS) release has to take into account our entire customer base. On some of our customer's forums, if we generated all topics it would take literally hours to run the sitemap generator, there'd be hundreds of files and they would take up gigabytes of space and bandwidth.

    2. More importantly than the above, I truly do not believe it to be necessary to include all of your content in a sitemap that is generated and sent to search engines more than once a day. I don't know any forums that generate more than 25,000 new topics a week, which means that you can expect your new content to be served to the search engines for at least that long. This gives them ample time to index the new content, and if they have not done so by then, they probably never will. Remember also that we ping the search engines with your sitemap to let them know that new content is available, so it's not like there is a discovery period to worry about.

I'll expand it to 50,000 as soon as the new generation method is in place, but that's likely it for a while at least.

The next release of Sitemap Generator is coming, and will be released with Invision Power Services as the author. There is, admittedly, a lot of work to be done on it before it could be a "core" feature of IP.Board or included by default, but it's as official as you're going to get at the moment.

Some things I'll be changing in upcoming releases though:

Blog, Gallery, Nexus and Downloads will be supported when their next versions are released. I'll be adding support for generating multiple sitemaps. Each app will be able to generate as many as they need to. This will mean we can support more like 50,000 topics rather than the current 25,000 limit. Basic support for priorities and change frequencies. Followed later by more in-depth support.

Feel free to leave feedback about it either here or in the topic, and I'll try to include any requests that are feasible. Ideas on how you'd like to see priorities generated would be great.

This hook trys to safe diskspace on your servers harddisk by resizing uploaded images before they get saved.

You can set the max. allowed file dimension for uploaded images (e.g. 1024x768). If the uploaded image exceeds this dimensions it will be resized and resampled.
The second option is a filesize check. If the uploaded image is smaller then the set dimensions, but the filesize is bigger than allowed, it will be resampled to save diskspace.

The following settings will be added to your settings interface after installation:

Enable or disable the hook Resize to width x height (this is also the size the file will checked against) Maximum filesize in KB Imagequality for jpeg, png and gif (to compress the image after resizing)
If you only use the traditional uploader, no further steps must be done after installing the hook.

If you want to use the Flash Uploader, you have to edit on template bit:
    Goto ACP->Look & Feel->YOUR SKIN->Post Screen->uploadForm

    and search for

    'file_size_limit': "{$stats['max_single_upload']}" } )}); replace {$stats['max_single_upload']} with 0.

This is because the flash uploader checks the filesize befor it really uploads to the server.

    Known Issues:
The Flash Uploader displayes the original uploaded Filesize instead of the resized filesize.

    Demo notes:
The Demo has the following settings applied (512kb max upload filesize and resize to 800x600 pixels).
Simple upload an image greater than 512KB

    Oh, and one last thing:
When the resized image is still bigger then the allowed size (per Post Member settings, etc.) there will still be an error http://community.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/wink.gif. This hook trys just to prevent the storage of unchanged 10 Megapixel camera images http://community.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/wink.gif.
