What's New in Version 1.1.0:

As promised, the Dark Theme I created for my site has now landed in the Marketplace, even got myself a fancy new Contributers badge thing.
The theme has no template changes, only CSS, if you notice any bits I've missed let me know as and I will get them fixed up straight away. 
Please remember this theme has only been tested on the Forums, Calendar and Gallery app as I do not own Blog or Commerce. 

Quick update: I have just updated the theme to work with all IPS apps 🙂 

I was bodging something together to fill a demand on my site, was never intended for any kind of public release. As you will have seen it's not the most professional of themes, some colours are set in theme settings where others are in custom.css, I really wouldn't feel comfortable charging for it, especially then offering no support. 
The community has helped me out a ton over the years with little bits, after receiving a PM suggesting I should put it on the marketplace figured I would just give something back and share what I've done whilst IPS drag their heels on an official dark theme. 
I will look into how to add it onto the marketplace at some point, install a test site, grab some screenshots and that when I get some free time. 

Ok, I have received a couple of messages regarding my night theme, asking if it was available for purchase at all. I'm not a theme developer, it's was never intended to enter the marketplace so the custom.css is not the most professional or tidy one you will ever come across, but I am happy to share it for free and unsupported in this topic. 
Couple of things, my site runs on a few template modifications, I have reverted all template files for the theme download so it's running all stock 4.4.2 templates.
I have also removed CSS which is unique to my site such as the fixed width and icon replacements which you will see in the screenshot below.
If you want fixed with, just add this to the top of the custom.css file and edit the value for what suits your site.
.ipsLayout_container {max-width: 1100px;} I have also included the editor skin, simply unzip, upload to /applications/core/interface/ckeditor/ckeditor/skins and then select Night Mode under the Editor tab in your theme options.
If anyone would like to tidy this up and package it for the marketplace feel free, although it would be nice if it was kept free. 
Hopefully IPS realise that Dark Themes for mobile users are becoming more popular and include one out the box in future, come on IPS, sort it out!

Sat down this morning, 9am UK time and thought I'm doing a night mode, it's happening.
It's now almost 8pm and I'm 98% there.
Although I must confess I took a 2hr afternoon nap.
It all comes down to this editor toolbar, the image sprite has all kinds of shading on the icons so it's not a simple whack a white layer on the top. 😫

Also I need to figure out how to darken the lazy loading backgrounds whilst loading in as it's bright white, and taking a few screenshots just now I'll probably change the follow button and that's it.
Possible but like I said earlier, a real ball ache.

The new thing these days is Responsive Font Sizes (the font size adjusts to the kind of display/viewport you are on) - frameworks like Bootstrap are starting to incorporate them.
Also, on your mobile device, you should be able to increase the font size globally (and I would think the browser/website would honor that as well?)...

I think the fact that IPS is themable negates the need for a "dark mode" which is popular with apps today. Perhaps if IPS provided a dark version of the default theme...
If an application-level dark mode was implemented, then theme creators would have to support it with dark mode CSS for their themes - which raises the question - would an already dark theme go reverse in dark mode (e.g., light mode)? 😀

Thanks for your opinion. I described this problem to my host company and the boys there looked at this thoroughly.
They solved this problem.
In your command for Cron, you use this
/opt/cpanel/ea-php73/root/usr/bin/php -d memory_limit=-1 -d max_execution_time=0 /home/...
They changed the command to
/opt/cpanel/ea-php73/root/usr/bin/php -c /home/...
and it all works like a Swiss watch ...

Is it possible to have this app ignore quoted comments when counting the number of characters?
When people quote a previous response it uses up the entire character limit often on my site. It would be great to just start the character limit counting with the new comment text.

Just an update that's I've updated my dev board and I'm working on this mod (in my spare free time >.<). I'm currently looking into the activity stream issue and I also need to recode a portion of it to adhere to the new marketplace rules about no colums in the default tables.
 
As far as I can remember I fixed that bug quite a while ago, but for the fix to work you first need to re-install the last version available and then uninstall it. If that still doesn't work let me know.

@Matt @bfarber guys please take note. You did a real disservice with putting all translation in one pile. Please consider adding at least an option to filter admin / public / admin+public shared strings. That would make it so much better than what we have now.
Nobody in their right mind would translate ACP which if I remember correctly from 3.4 days is like 2/3 of the whole suite while forums makes up about 1/3 or total strings.

I know it isn't but let's just say that in old days when I was selling LT translation only roughly 5% asked whether ACP was translated. People mostly care only about front-end and that's a fact which I'm stating from my past experience. Other translators are free to do what they desire.

One small request if it is possible...
Language control panel under ACP is NOT a friendly environment.... I am going to try to give some feedback to make this friendlier for all of us who have bilingual platform 
Most of us who has bilingual platform; we do not translate admin panel, we only translate front end; therefore we need a good system that separates admin and front end language bits... (very important) When I click on "Untranslated" the admin and front end option should be there too.

You can make the button more visible by going to
ACP > Themes > </> (Edit HTML and CSS) > Search for 'ThreadStarterTruncate' and edit and replace everything with:
