  1. I'm not saying paid. I customize all of my own block templates to work the way I want. So for example: Last I checked this was the default Articles/Pages block:
  2. So not sure which block you showed them but its completely doable but not out of the box. It would just be a custom block template. Super easy to do but not something that is just available.
  3. This situation was completely temporary for me but a nuisance. I was (as I said in my previous post) able to get my license paid for and updated a few weeks ago now. This post was done as it was stressful and this insistent niggling reminder of my newly expired license which expired, quite accurately, the same week as my life fell apart was just one more added stress to something that was already stressful. I didn't need or want help as I knew that once everything came back down to something more level I would be capable of paying and updating but I didn't think that the reminder every day or every other day was necessary or even helpful in my situation of having an inactive license. Hell someone offered to pay for my license and I declined. Its also why I didn't reach out to IPS about it as I knew that as the storm passed everything would be back to normal and that meant me paying my renewal as well as I've been running this site as a beta site for about 5 years now?
  4. NGL, that doesn't magically make money fall out of your pocket. "OMG ITS SUPER IMPORTANT LET ME NOT GET THAT PRESCRIPTION MED FOR MY FAMILY MEMBER BECAUSE MY COMMUNITY IS AT RISK!!!!! THEY WILL TOTALLY UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE STILL SICK!" No matter what you do as an administrator you have to make decisions on your priorities and my family and myself will always come first. I would prefer that if I dismiss it because I can't afford it and can't get it until I can (which I was able to do a few weeks ago mind you and updated immediately) that it go the hell away. I don't need to be on my community where I like to relax and escape from my daily troubles to be reminded of them every other day.
  5. I wasn't mentioning my hardship for sympathy but I do appreciate the well wishes. I was just pointing out that especially with all the hardships of 2020 and the coming hardships and difficulty of 2021 that a new method for this really needs to be developed. There have been some really good suggestions in the past that include: Dismiss until next update. Dismiss for X amount of time (1 day, 1 week, 1 month) Dismiss and only show this update in the ACP. Hell, this one could be a setting for notifications in the ACP. "Show update notifications in the ACP or email update notifications to me". NGL, emailing me may work better for a lot of admins. They aren't impossible asks and would relieve the stress for those that are struggling in this time and cannot afford it. I don't think its a fair ask to have me completely remove update reminders from my template in order to ignore them when my license lapses but as it stands, to save myself the headache and heartache of being reminded that is what would have to be done. Then I'd have to remember to remove that when I'm able to update again which likely wouldn't be high on my priority list at that time. This NEEDS to be improved. I don't just WANT it to be improved.
  6. As it stands right now? No. Only the website. The app isn't intended for moderating.
  7. I don’t need them to hide it. I need it to behave @Joel R My daughter attempted to take her life in December and unfortunately that plus my boyfriend getting COVID in January where I now have it? I’m not going to lie, the fact that I CANNOT update because I don’t have the money to do it but am so incessantly reminded of it with an expired license is hot garbage. If my license was active that’s on me and I am making an active decision to ignore it. When my license is inactive that is not the case. I don’t see why a “if license inactive no reminders” statement can’t be added to them. @Charles @Lindy is it really necessary to be this insistent to remind me of what a hard time I’m having? It was hard enough dealing (and still dealing) with my life issues. This feels just like an extra kick in the teeth in my opinion. These last two months have quite literally been the worst of my life, I don’t know why IPS had to rub it in my face every 24-48 hours when it decided to remind me again that my site wasn’t up to date on my expired license that I legit just couldn’t pay for.
  8. That sounds like a bug. What URL are they attempting to access?
  9. So with that in mind I would go with a Pages database if I'm being honest, it gives a little bit of customization options to you guys and your end users (including your subscribers which I know you have as I joined the site to peep at it) and it makes it to where it takes it out of the traditional forum and you can require specific fields for the GM to enter. Then you can allow comments (which GM/DM/Whatever) people can reply to in a traditional fashion. On my site you can see some custom options here: https://rpginitiative.com/directory/ Specifically look at the header images. My normal members can choose from a few select options while my patrons/subscribers get to have custom header images like this one: https://rpginitiative.com/directory/metro-beyond-r1406/ With this, you can setup an "Active", "Inactive" and "Filled" select box so there is a visual representation of whether the GM is still looking to do the game. It would give your staff the ability to move/archive whatever you want. Once they have "Filled" then they create their club and the accepted members join and start their collab. That's at least my recommended way to do it.
  10. These services often require MX records. You may need to update yours.
  11. .ipsReact_overview { display: none; } Add to custom.css
  12. There isn't a way to rebuild this as these are in the posts. I think someone can assist with a replace SQL though. @bfarber???
  13. I, personally, would use Pages for this but that's me beyond this I think a custom app may be up your alley. For pages I can imagine a few ways to do this but my brain immediately goes to 2 databases. You could also do a single database where people reply with a form described in the original bit. You have the "Games" database where the GM/DM/Whatever submits the game. What there setting is, what their rules are, etc. Then you have an associated Database that uses a DB relationship that the player would submit their profile would be the other. So what is the process for your games specifically? My understanding is: GM/DM/Whatever creates game and posts it. Interested parties apply. Interested parties are accepted based on application. Accepted parties create characters. Game starts and goes through. If I were to run something like this I would cut out the middle man. I would add custom profile fields to the user profile that would answer the GM/DM/Whatever questions (play-style, personality etc) because for me as an end user I would hate to have to do this multiple times if I wanted to join a few different games but that could just be me. This would then allow a GM/DM/Whatever to view the end users profile when they request to join an RP. This would in essence complete Step 2 and 3 without the end user or GM/DM/Whatever or your sites staff interjecting in the middle. The GM/DM/Whatever would just accept the profiles they feel fit the group. THEN, once they are accepted they have a forum in the club that they post links to their completed character profiles. Once an ok is posted by GM/DM/Whatever then the person associates said character account to the club. This would support step 4 though at this current time the Character Manager doesn't support being only able to post in clubs with characters associated with clubs. I guess I'm trying to figure out where the breakdown points are for you in the current transition so that we can better understand and assist in providing you solutions @Moonbeam
  14. To be clear I run some RP sites but my main site is a discussion forum on RPs not a roleplay directly. With the Character Manager you can attach characters to clubs. So, like I advised before, you can have club owners approve characters created by the member attaching them to the club. There isn't currently a way to do that without actually joining the club itself (aka you have to be in the club to attach the character to the club/make it appear in the characters tab). You can do this one of a few ways similar to how you're already doing this on your site: A singular forum where game owners can post a topic and people can post links to their characters in the thread and apply to the club/game. When they do that the club owner will be notified, they can check out the character and approve/deny the person by allowing them into the club or not so then they could attach their character to the club. Allow for anyone to join clubs but only users with characters attached actually play in them. With this method you'd have to give game owners/club owners a moderator group to be able to approve characters. You'd have to trust them to approve characters only for their club. At this time there is no character attachment approval process because its not a widely used thing for the way the character manager was made. It was made more in the mind of a single RP site where clubs are more used as a character management item (so in my case I use clubs for individuals to organize their characters, plots, ideas etc). Suggestions for the character manager can be posted here: https://rpginitiative.com/forum/488-ips-character-manager-suggestions/ Our next big update will probably be within the next 3-6 months.
  15. I think the version thing was removed to prevent attacks based on version exploits.
  16. The only way to search archives would be through google. So like site: https://mysite.com my search terms They will not be able to be searched in the IPS search function anymore. They are removed from the search index.
  17. Submit a ticket. This will require that IPS have an actual look at what happened to fix it.
  18. The second is normal. Its an opacity thing to show that its anything. You can change it but you don't have to. And I think for the first one: .ipsStreamItem_actionBlock { background: #fff; }
  19. @Zdeněk Tůma This only works for specific types of fields and it is a setting on the main "Field" setting screen at the bottom. If you don't see the "allow filtering" toggle that type of field is not filterable.
  20. The defaults are rather limited and very newbish. You can edit/remove them here: https://mysite.com/admin/?app=core&module=membersettings&controller=ranks Alternatively you can remove it from the theme for those groups.
  21. Even if they are getting an error on that page it will show that they are on that page. Its actually standard. IPS tracks the page they are on (and thus the error they are getting) so it serves to reason that the "online" page is going to reflect this as well. Its not going to say "Guest is on error on page X" its just going to show that "guest is on Page X" whether or not they are getting a permission denied error.
  22. So was the time frame like 90 days previously? Because if it was then just changing it to 30 will not auto-trigger the deletion. It will wait until the next time the task runs. NOW! If it has always been 30 days then you need to submit a ticket to support. Something isn't working correctly.
  23. Its the same way that IPS works. If you want updates to an app you pay for the renewal. That is up to the mod author.
