Yes, it's that time of the week where I spend 20-30 minutes of my life thinking of a terrible pun on a number.

Our weekly beta release is here!

We have a bunch of fixes for you, along with a tidy up of the new tag page and an update to the editor drop down menus to make it clearer what everything does and to make it a bit better on mobile.

Let us know what you think!

You haven't added the Sidebar to the Pages Section  😕 I'm going to cry.

@Matt this reminds me of an old feature request from years back.. - is it possible to different add sidebars PER FORUM? As opposed to in IPS 4 once you add a sidebar in topic view of any forum is what you will get in topic of every forum topic.

Don’t hold your breath. This will not happen. They are in the bug-fixing stage for a big new release. They are not adding random/recent feature requests, let alone ones that require major restructuring between beta releases. And their general approach seems to be to simplify things rather than make them more complicated. So, I wouldn’t even expect them to make major changes to the page layout in 5.1, 5.2 and so on.

If you need a second sidebar, you have to add it yourself, which in 5.x is now done withe the RAW HTML widget on the front-end. You can’t use drag-and-drop there, but you can create your own page layout at will and move any widget in there manually. Doing it manually is advised anyway, as a 3-column view is highly problematic in terms of the creation of a responsive website. When the columns need to collapse on smaller screens, where does the content go? Is the main content now deep down, because an entire sidebar comes first? That’s usually a bad idea and that’s probably why it is not offered like this as a default layout.

I know this has become a controversial topic, but we haven't had a concrete answer about it.

It would be really bad to ask you about the possibility of releasing assigned topics for us clients (self-hosted).

That's because if you have a definition and this feature is not available to us, I will talk about an application directly with one of the providers.

I'm currently using assignments on Discord, marking the people responsible for a certain topic directly with the markup syntax. This system of yours would be really great for online gaming communities!

If my question causes you any discomfort, I apologize because that's not my intention. I'm close to the official opening of my project, creating all the necessary documentation and guides, and I would really appreciate this feature.

Is there a small chance that this dream will come true?  🙊

With all due respect, Matt has already answered this question in another thread and clearly outlined why the team decided that some features, even if they could be implemented in Self-Hosted, are only included in the Cloud package.

I didn't see this answer, not directly to this resource.
I saw it explaining how the packages work, but not a concrete answer to my question! If it was mentioned, please send it to me, I didn't see where it was mentioned.

Bro you're becoming boring you keep repeating the same question to which you've already received clear answers. There won't be such functionality in the self-hosted package, and that's it. Please stop this spam...
