Environment: 4.6.10 Self-hosted Using -TESTINSTANCE license. After a long process of upgrading from 3.x to 4.x, we find that the custom BBCode that had been composed over time in the 3.x environment are present in the updated DB. I can see they exist clearly and the BBCode re-write rules are in the table. We've also turned on support for BBCode. What appears to be the case is that standard BBCodes (bold, italic, quote, post, topic -- the latter may not be actually "standard" but integral to Invision core capabilities) work. Even those BBCodes that are more aligned with Invision (topic, post, etc..) work post upgrade. Those BBCode tags …

Hi guys! I have a problem with the emojis issue. I made a migration from vbulletin and the emojis are not displayed. That is, the short code is displayed. When I edit the post, it shows automatically. But I can't be doing this with all the posts: -_-' Any way to force to show the emoticons in previous post? PS: Yes, they are added in the platform and with the indicated shortcodes.

Before 4.6.x the ACP timeout respected the session.gc_maxlifetime value in the PHP configuration, mine is set to 28800 seconds. But after I upgraded to 4.6.2 last year the timeout has been 60 minutes, is there any way of increasing this now? All I can find is the DEV_DISABLE_ACP_SESSION_TIMEOUT option for constants.php, but I want this for a production environment. (Not entirely sure this happened exactly when going to 4.6.2, but it was around that time)

Today I came across an issue with my website that the admins on here are basically refusing to acknowledge is an issue. This is multi-layered so hopefully I can explain this as best possible. 9:15am I added an advertisement on the website without any issues that I saw Starting at 9;26am until 10:10am this error was in my System Log multiple times Error: Class '\IPS\Helpers\Form\Captcha\' not found in /var/www/html/system/Helpers/Form/Captcha.php:43 9:56am received a message my site was down and went to check on it. I just upgraded my IPS3 to IPS4 and experience some strange problem. Whenever user starts download a file the forums "stops" working until downloads finishes. I believe it is a config issue somewhere at lower level but can't think of any. Any suggestions? FYI, my host is powerful enough.

As the topic title asks, why is it so difficult to troubleshoot root causes of high server load? I have had server load going from around 15 and spiking all the way up to 50, 60 or even 80 Then it goes back down after a while. However, it's really difficult to troubleshoot. There must be a better way to isolate the issue? Any tips? Thank you

Ok so i have a licence and active forum but it seems i can not longer contact support! It justs says my plan doesnt support! So i am paying for the software but cant get direct support hmm helpful! Ok anyway so thinking of moving software and currently have several subscriptions setup as well as advertisign products which all are recuring and run through stripe my questions is what happens to these if i move software will stripe kepp charging these or does stripe rely on IPS to trigger it?

Our forum quite often answers the same questions that have been asked many times over. I was wondering if there was a built in what where regular members can easliy find old posts to reference in a reply rather that having to write the same thing over and over. Is there some way mmbers can save/bookmark or similar poosts for future reference? I know we have the our picks section that we could potentialy utilise but there doesnt seem to be an easy was to search this Our Pick section. Any ideas?

Hi, New to doing this forum. We updated our server from 4.6.9 on sunday, and it caused quite a problem at the time, but eventually after rebuilding the cache it started working again. However, since then we don't get notifications on new posts. Get them for likes, replies, messages, everying else, just not new comments on existing posts. Looking in the database core_notifications, I notice that before this week there were loads of notifications whos notification type were new_comment, since then it doesn't appear at all. I'm trying to query the IPB DB to return an exact number of posts in the posts table. I'm using the following KB article to get me started: What I've boiled it down to was something basic like: $select = \IPS\Db::i()->select( '*', 'forums_posts', '', 'pid', '' ); $results = count( $select ); print $results; Given that I don't want to limit the number of results, I was trying to leave the limit field blank. I've recently updated my Debian Stretch 9 system to Debian Buster 10 and have installed PHP 7.4. I'm attempting to manualyl upgrade my Invision Community forum from 3.x to 4.6.10 and am running into a "Please create a [...]/datastore directory and make it writeable." error when visiting my site's admin/upgrade page. Please see the attached .pdf excerpt from my sysadmin journal for details on the file permissions I have and an attempted failed solution I tried to chmod the directory. Hi I'm planning to put my forum as a grid view, so I have all the images in place, and then realised that Unread topics are not marked in bold(I have a dot as a default option of course) but when I'm changing to traditional view everything works as normal . As well in the Grid view even when I can see the dot and then go to the forum to see which subject is highlighted- nothing? Traditional view- no problem??? Its simply not possible to guess which topic/ subforum should I check. Any ideas, or Im simply missing something.... And yes, testing done on Default Theme.

I need some clubs to be seen by community members but without their ability to see content or to request to join. That would be an "closed" club, and you have to be invited to join. Is there a way to remove the "Join club" button? Help appreciated!
