Hi, I posted this first in Peer-to-Peer Technical Support for IP Board, but got no replies. We have recently migrated to 3.0.5 from 2.3.5, and we have noticed that topics do not have "multipage jump" option when viewed as a list from the forum view. If you click INTO a particular topic, the option indeed shows, as: However, if you are not viewing the topic, but the sub-forum, i.e. list of all the topics, there is no such option available there available for each individual topic. In IP Board 2.3.5, next to the each topic title (when viewed from sub-forum view), there was a small white-square icon which served as a multipage jump option. When clicked, it immediately…

I think certain actions should generate a status update. I think the "status updates" should really just be a stream of activity: Johnny posted a new file. Johnny posted a new record. Johnny posted a new image. (Maybe show a thumbnail of the image) Johnny > Jenny Wow, what a great profile! (for profile comments) It would make it easier to keep up with the community's activity, and it would be fun to view.

When editing the language area to customize the site to our needs, all of the editing boxes are the same size, even when we are editing something like the emails that are sent out. See from the picture above? The editing area should match the size of the current language on hand to the left. *Most* of the time we are only tweaking the language or what we will be creating will be of similar size. Having these boxes larger would help in this process. Please consider this for the next version, and if there is an easy way to increase them now, please post up a solution. Thanks a bunch!! Jamie

With me being new to IPB, I am reading and studying each topic in my search. I am finding a wealth of information and "watching the topic" some with email some just watching. I believe it would be good to have a way to organize the watched topics. Similar to the way PM's are handled. This would allow me to move topics I am watching for future ideas for my site into one group, and topics I am watching because of a feature or a support topics into another group and topics I am watching because I replied into another different group. I have a sports site and we watch games and talk about them. Is there way to add a empty sidebar option for us to use to populate streaming sites or video on the page we are chatting from? I think that would be a nice option.

I know that there is at least one working arcade. I think it would be great if Invision Power Board developed an arcade system that can be added to the forums. Many people enjoy the forums because they can play the arcade games. While I am not trying to prevent anyone from developing new apps (of which there seems few for IPB 3.+)it has taken a long time for developers to get an arcade system out, and even those that are out are not near the same quality of the old arcade (for IPB 2.+ boards). It is always good to have alternatives so - developers please continue to develop!

When you click "New Content" it takes you to new posts. In that screen I suggest a button for "Mark all content as read" and another in the forums to "Mark this forum as Read" (on each post) because when a member has just posted two or three (or more) new posts it's cumbersome (and time consuming) to have to go back (singly) to each post and then re-click the New Content button to eliminate it as a "New Post.". When we start getting a lot of posts, it will be impossible. Thank you, Charles

I'm working on an app that requires additions to an existing (IP.Board) application's memberSync.php file, to add additional functionality for when members perform certain actions. I was thinking about this earlier today and it dawned on me that doing this could lead to the changes done to this file getting overwritten if/when the admin of the site running this app upgrades. Because these files are essentially made to be added to/changed as needed by the person running the site, I didn't think much of this. I run a large sports forum and we rely on the games to generate traffic. My suggestion is that the calendar be made able to add dates from an outside source. The sports teams release the schedules in formats such as Microsoft outlook calendar files and csv. files. Is it possible to add this function of auto import?

Since a picture is worth a thousand word here is a quick mockup of what I was thinking about...something that would function like the permission screen for each forums. My point is that Configuring the individual permissions for member groups should be the same as the forums permissions. You are using 3 tabs per member groups. If would be better to have less tabs and longer pages to scroll, the reason is that most of the content and settings are buried in the ACP. Finding an individual setting sometimes is impossible unless it is search-able. I was suggested to put my question here so here it goes. Is there a way to make image attachments into nice URLs instead of mysite.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=??? to something of the affect mysite.com/nameofimage.jpg i would like the pictures to be easily and properly picked up by google. when i search my site through google image search i get picture names like this "post-83928374928340238940.jpg" thanks for reading this.

I visited the link for a mod to ban members from selected forums and got an error that I did not have permission for that section of the site: http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/1194-d23-ban-members-from-select-forums-v10/ I suspect that isn't the case though - I suspect the file no longer exists, but shouldn't the error message say so - it's a little confusing to tell me I don't have access if that's not true? Every now and then I have to close a topic. Here are some things I would like to see added when having to do so. - close a topic and have an option to put a comment as to why, with out having to go back to the topic and adding it. - not have the topic "bumped" when adding a reply as to why it got locked. - able to close anonymously and still post a reason. Here is a mock up I made useing a recently closed topic in this section.

How can I search a certain forum without having to select it from the list every time? I want to search this forum: http://community.invisionpower.com/forum/298-ipboard/ I want to be able to have a link... like dunno, maybe, for example: http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums&forum=298-ipboard/ and be able to bookmark it. Can we have an option to ban members from selected forums please. ... and before anyone kindly points me to Adriano's mod - it's not available/supported any more. (Edit: Sorry, Adriano has PM'd to say the mod is available and is supported - still, it would be nice to have this included in the stock IPB ... :thumbsup: ). Cheers, Shaun :D

Just some suggestions: OUR BIG ONE: 1.) Add an Admin-button to clear the entire chat room text content. As non-Mods wander in and out of the chatroom, sometimes we'd like to erase all prior comments quickly, without having to boot people and restart it. And also... 2.) When you have a private chat tab next to the main room, even in the private room, it shows like everyone is in your chat, not just the two private participants. The population window needs to change dynamically to reflect which chat room you are in. 3.) I like that Admin names are red colored. I need to shut down guests and certain Member Groups from seeing "active user list" under tools/security The problem is that this feature works on a blanket basis for all member groups. Most "members group" allowed to use the Active User List can not see the user list navigation if I do this. Other forum software has this feature. Is there a possibility to add this to then next version update? Thank you, JB

Hello, I've come across this forums: http://www.macdd.com/v4/forum/ Which every pages, topics, replies, etc. seems to be full AJAX, i.e. no single page load occur once enter the forums. Everything feel so smooth. You can navigate through forum view, topic view and post. You can post reply, edit, go back and forth without loading entire page. There is a tab called Forum SPY that updates new activity to you in real time, like in IP.Shoutbox. Only it updates entire forums. I've been told many times that to employ full AJAX across everything in a website is not practical or whatever and I've thought so until I met that website. Will this feature ever come to IP.…

On the advanced search page there is an example for how to search for a string by enclosing it in quotes. The example is: "enclosing it in quotes". However, this won't work as it gives the following response: I reported this as a bug, but was told it was working as intended: http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-24011-search-text-enclosed-in-quotes-wont-allow-words-shorter-than-3-characters/ So I think this is silly :) and needs to be changed. Would it be possible to change the function addNavigation() to have these arguments: $title, $url='', $seoTitle='', $seoTemplate='', $base='public' Currently, $url does not set that empty string as default, so it always has to be defined, but if you want to create a navigation element that's just text and not a link you always currently have to pass in the empty string, and I usually forget to do that.
