Hello, When there is no comment there is written "0 comment" or "0 answer". 0... Zéro... It means nothing, you're ugly, visitors don't care. A little picture is better than "0". Also, in IP.Content for exemple, I'd like an option to change "yes" or "no" by a little picture, it's more clean, especialy in the listing template.

Is the avatar replacing the profile photo or is the profile photo replacing the avatar? Why I ask is I presently allow avatars to be seen by guests but I block guests from viewing profiles. What happens is the features like blog and status updates don't show anything but the default blanks to guests (very boring), whereas i'd rather have the avatar appear in all of those places. I'm looking for some color (avatars) in the blog and status update photo boxes without having to open up profiles to guests. Can you elaborate on the functionality of the combined features? Thanks.

Ok so there is a modification out that does this however it would be AMAZING to have the option at least to turn on username formatting throughout this site. This would be so that, for example, members show up as blue, admins as red, mods as green, etc. Their names are coloured throughout the site without the need of the modification. I think this is a long awaited feature :) Thanks, ~Shadow

As I understood, my View New Content erratic behavior will be resolved in 3.2. However my board is virtually unusable, by this problem and I started to lose patience. When should I expect such an important feature to be solved? It is simply unacceptable to wait over 1 month a fix for such an important problem. Basically, my members relies on View New Content feature, which is now simply not useable.

first I want to thanks Micheal for this Generator , after using it I noticed only one bug in exporting skin it is in primary_nav ul li.active hover it is really amazing tool I create my style using it and four css edits and two templates edits in one hour only . but I want to save more time in creating a skin so I want here to suggest : #ipbwrapper width edit tool background-image tool easy logo changer tool thanks

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but isn't it kind of convenient to mark the topic owner's posts within a thread? Perhaps a symbol in the postbit, or something to make it easier to know that "he/she created this topic". Instead of having to go back to the first post to see it(or topiclist in worst case). I know it can be done via modification, but I think it's a handy feature that should be built in :)

Hey, I was wondering if there was a way to disable the side bar that contains " Recently Added Topics" etc. I know I can click to disable it, and re click to enable it on the index page. But I want to completely disable it through the admin cp. Thanks. :)

<edit>I meant 3.1.4 not 3.1 in the title :) </edit> I've tried running several topics off this forum through the W3C Semantic Data Extractor (http://www.w3.org/2003/12/semantic-extractor.html) and I keep getting an error. and for example both throw errors, as does every other topic I've tried. On a totally stock (not a single change made) IPS demo install, the forum still fails on the Semantic Extractor and has errors on the W3C validator. Yes, I know that sometimes it's impossible to make everything validate if you want pages to WORK ;), that's why I only mentioned the validator as a side note. This control (A) appears at the bottom of every topic: Currently viewing all posts. Change threshold? This is a feature that would be useful only very rarely, maybe never. This feature would be valuable only to a site with these characteristics: Very large forums, lots of posts in each topic, a heavy use of the rep system, lots of garbage being posted, and motivation for users to want to skip content by those with low rep. There's multiple times where I've issued verbal warnings on profiles to let everyone know that this is not the way you should act on the site. Come to find out that the user deleted the comment. There should be an option to make it so users can't delete certain groups comments.

Hello.. I find it very annoying when you cant delete an uploaded .xml file in system settings.. It CANT be done, unless u put ur board in dev mode..if ya do that, the board vil NEVER get back to normal (Codes, hooks, apps etc will not work, errors afrer errors after errors!, its a nightmare!, did this to my test board.. and..i took it back to non dev, and nothing works..I really don't wanna bother sending in a ticket for this, waist of my time really...= So, suggestion: Make it easier to delete xml files, and set the board in devmode! Because as it is now..its a pain in the arse!

Members who submit trackbacks are not counted as posts when looking them up. I understand they are not posts so it would be nice to see an added field put into Members>Members spam que for example that could track the trackbacks posted and a warning on the systems index somewhere. I recently had over 10,000 trackback spams in my blogs and didn't know. I would of known however if that info was made available. It would show and I could resolve the trackback spam instead of not knowing without physically checking each new blog thread. Hope that makes sense. This would without doubt help admins. Next, let me suggest a way when someone posts over "x" amount of trackback…

Im in the process of trying to build a my IP Content driven site, and im hitting many snags around programming, using my own code and various other adjustments, I have to keep trying to find information on the Invision forums although im finding it incredibly difficult. 8 times out of 10 my search is rejected due to lack of character length or some other reason. This came up in relation to IP.Gallery, but it should be general comment. Even though integration and connection to social networks are great features, online communities are different to social networks. So when developing a new Gallery, then it is important to not assume that it will always be used like Facebook, where we are all sharing photos of Jenny's first bike or last summers holiday trip. My community has been on IP.Board for just over two months now, and my members are loving it. However, there is one feature that a few of us miss from the forum software we used to use (ZetaBoards, for reference). When posting a new topic or post on Zetaboards, the 'Preview' button is located directly below the window where you type your post. Clicking this preview button would open up a pane above where you were typing the post (in my opinion, it would be more convenient to relocate this to below the post, but I digress) where the whole post as it would appear when you actually posted it would be displayed; no reload necessary. Well, I'm a bit bummed because today one of our admins clicked a link on the front page of his ACP and in doing so, he pruned every single one of our forum accounts, even my ROOT admin account (he was a regular admin). Essentially, what happened was that a user (Steph) who had limited ACP access was attempting to do a members prune. However, Steph was blocked from completing the prune when attempting to initiate it. The admin with full ACP access (Joshua) clicked the link in the screenshot below (taken from his history), assuming it would take him into the "members" page where Steph was. a user of my site has reported this, i dont really care, but i think i did not have this kind of problem with vb... when you use the rte editor and paste some content copied from a site you get a post full of html, this should be fixed to get the html removed or "translated" to bb code i tryed to do a bug report but "html" was a common removed word

I read a lot on the pro's and con's of using IPB for social networking. I used IPB for a number of years and then stopped simply out of frustration. My main frustration back then was having to modify almost everything. And as soon as you got everything just the way you wanted it, an upgrade would come along. :huh: I actually took a long break, I am now back. IPB has come a very long way, and it is very impressive.
