rbiss
Is the avatar replacing the profile photo or is the profile photo replacing the avatar? Why I ask is I presently allow avatars to be seen by guests but I block guests from viewing profiles. What happens is the features like blog and status updates don't show anything but the default blanks to guests (very boring), whereas i'd rather have the avatar appear in all of those places. I'm looking for some color (avatars) in the blog and status update photo boxes without having to open up profiles to guests. Can you elaborate on the functionality of the combined features? Thanks. Ryan H.
They're being unified into a single image feature. Which of the existing ones will take precedent will apparently be either an administrator or user decision at the time of upgrade [if they've decided, they haven't shared it yet to my knowledge]. rbiss
But will the unified version be inside or outside the profile?
Ryan H.
Er... both. Okay, I see your question now. I don't imagine they would tie the new unified photo to whether a person is able to view profiles. The personal photo was originally only shown in the profile, so such a restriction made sense [though less so when it began being used more widely].
