It was hinted on a post from a Dev that the Admin Notes in IP.Board 3.2 is gone. I would like to request that this not be taken out as it is a quick and easy way for Admin/Mods to keep in touch with each other in the back end of the ACP, as well as note issues or what was done to alert others. This is a great feature that I would hope will not be taken out. Thanks

This must have been mentioned as a feature request before, but I can't find anything like this after a search. Individual members have an option in their control panel as follows: Watch every topic I reply to It would be great if there was an option in our ACP to default this to YES for all members. I know that we can set a usergroup to receive emails of new topics, but that's not what I am after. I am looking for a simple way that we can send emails to members notifying them of new replies on topics they've contributed to. In a perfect world, we'd also be able to set the default notification type, too.

One feature I think would be really cool is to jump to the next post made by a certain user, even if that post is on the next page of a topic. It would be mostly a Javascript thing: It would see what posts you've scrolled past and only look ahead from there. You can bring up a box and type in the user's name and it will do an auto-complete based on who has posted in the topic (or maybe just a short list). Clicking on the persons name or hitting enter would either immediately scroll you to that person's post, or take you to the page of that persons post. This would be useful in situations where you want to see what a particular person said throughout a topic. For example…

On the "Editing member" screen in the ACP, I think it would be useful to have an option to directly email/PM the member from that page. I would find this useful if I needed to send the member an important message without leaving the ACP. Perhaps a "Send message" button on the top right of the ACP screen, that opens a popup to email/PM the member.

An ongoing spammer related issue is that the dots in a gmail address are ignored by the gmail server. In effect, the following addresses are all the same to gmail: johndoe@email.com john.doe@email.com john.d.o.e@email.com j.ohndoe@email.com joh.ndoe@email.com j.o.h.n.d.o.e.@email.com etc. The spammers know about this, so all they do is move the dot around to fool IPB's spam filter. The solution is to add an option where the filter can be set to ignore the dots on gmail accounts. Also, the spam reporting system should be updated to recognize this gmail issue too. That way we don't have to keep reporting the same offenders that slip through just because they move…

I have a few things I think could improve IP.Board. 1.) Signatures need to be auto resized in the personal message area. 2.) Able to change the font that the board uses by default, such as the global font that the skin uses. Thanks, Elliott Brown

Hi There! I was browsing through my new forum tonight, getting familiar with the different settings and I found some disappointment in the rank system on the new board, I thought I would provide you folks with some constructive feedback to help you make improvements! Now, forgive me if any of this is incorrect, I'm new, but from my exploring and also skimming the forums here for more information, this is my analysis of the current rank system. In the new IP Board the rank system is set up so that there is one "series" of ranks that users progress through as they achieve post count. Each rank can have either an image, or a set number of "pips" (which are co…

Here's my situation. I have user names and display names enabled and I do not allow users to change their display name via the UCP. Instead I let them purchase the power to change their display name using points they've earned through posting via an app like ibeconomy. So now, if a user wants a different display name than their user name they'll have to wait until they've earned enough points? Also, because of the display name history tool it will become easier for people to hack accounts now since you do not have to guess a person's user name. It'll be right there for you and now all you have to do is guess the password. I wish IPS would just let us choose to enable or…

I've tried to create a topic/post from guest with certain display name, but it seems, that right now it's not possible since setAuthor($member) function accepts only member's ID, and if it is empty or zero nothing displays. At the end you'll have ** as topic/post author, where asterisks are just enclosure to empty name. So I'd like to suggest you to add an extra check like this: If $member is not integer - use $member value as guest name. For example, I can use setAuthor("GuestDude") and it'll display *GuestDude* as topic/post author. Very simple and can save a bunch of time for those, who want to use names for guests when posting via external script.

Hi all Just wondering if IPB has or is going to include a feature to show you how many people may be viewing a particular forum from the forum home view as VB does ??

One thing I would really like to see some time is the ability to sort the on-line user list by IP number. See the attached screengrab where the same IP is logged in 8 times just on this one page. They are logged in multiple times on other pages of the on-line list. By having the list sorted it makes spotting problems like this much easier. I can then ban the IP address if I so choose. Thanks 3DKiwi

Hi there, When people add +1 for posts, some of them can become "popular" messages. Would it be possible to have a easily accessible list of the most popular messages of the board ? For instance, a link at the bottom of the board, like the daily top 20. Thanks :)

Will we finally have the ability to arrange the emoticons as we please in IP.Board 3.2, as it stands i don't know of a way to do it? If it isn't planned, I'd like to request it, if possible. Thanks.

Hello, I ran into this issue today when I installed IP.SEO. I needed my sitemap plugins in my 3rd party app to be executed in a SPECIFIC order, however it turns out that IP.SEO executes them according to the order of their position in the directory of the linux file system (so the user essentially has no choice in the order of sitemap plugin execution). What would be best is if the plugins were executed in alphabetical order. I.e. 1_plugin.php 2_plugin.php A_plugin.php B_plugin.php etc. I changed the generator.php code from: protected function runApplicationPlugins($app, $appPluginsPath) { $appPluginsDirectory = opendir(…

Generator which generates albums and images does more harm than good. Links to albums are totally borken and images are generated from private albums too! Could some staff fix those bugs? In this case IP.SEO should named IP.ANTISEO now I have in Google Webmaster tools warnings that I have LOT OF invalid links! For this case I really don't need IP.SEO so I uninstall it soon when support of this software will be continue in this way.

Is there a option in the upcoming IPB 3. 2 for users to deactive themselves? In Europe counties this option must be there so that users can delete themselves and no private information can be left on the board if th user wish to leave. As I been given request to deactive 3 accounts so far I made a group and put the said user in there but something of a auto features would be nice. Would think like this be coming?

Could you please add a new setting to insert ads per forum? For example the ad after every first post shouldn`t be visible in a forum like Feedback or Administrative. Please, this is very important.

In our spirit of keeping everyone up to date, this topic will serve as a running list of what's new in IP.Board 3.2.0. As we make changes we will update this topic so check back now and then. This is not yet a complete list as we are still making changes, adding new features, and doing other work. If you don't see what you're looking for here just yet please check back later! As always with IPS, everything listed here is not part of a "possible" roadmap. We will only post items on this list when they are 100% complete and included in IP.Board 3.2.0 so you can trust that what we post in public is what you will get. Calendar Improvements SEO Improvements: Consistency…

Since PageSpeed is getting more and more important to forum users and Google, we would like to see pagespeed being improved on IP.Board 3.2. Using the pagespeed extension (for the chrome browser) it doesn't look too good on IP.Board 3.1 compared to other forum software.

I can't use BBCode (or HTML for that matter) in custom profile field descriptions. This is a big problem since I can't fit all the information about a particular profile field in the description, hence the need of a link.

I was thinking with all the products so far thats out for IPS, which are all great, was wondering if there is anything new that is not currently out in the work sometime? Can you say maybe this year? The last question is can you give any hints to what it may cover? Thanks :D Zak

I love the individual forum rules, but please add the ability to use a saved rule on other forums. Maybe create sets, and you would select a set. Or at least an "apply this to sub-forums" tick box. Copying and pasting is a pain with many forums/sub-forums. Thanks!

I upgraded from SMF(1.0) on my website and frankly the problems that I have now make me wonder if I made a good choice. The things that keep me going and stop me from moving to another software is the Support Staff and their ability to solve problems and keep the customer happy. Is the best I worked with until now. Those guys and girls should get a raise everyday. The major drawback of the software is the search engine. I tried all kind of things and it's absolutely bad. If I have a topic called "problema supapa egr" and I search "problema supapa egr" or "supapa egr" or "problema egr" it wont take me near it. And maybe it's a solution on the support forum…
