I just got a question. I use 2 translations on my board and once IPB4 is ready and released will i have to do all the translations again or will it port over my current languages and import them into the IPB 4 forum software? Thanks.

Hi, reading old topics on here can be a bit of a chore right now, due to the converter not having converted things properly. Quotes are missing etc. I'm unsure as to whether I should report these or whether they'll likely already fixed. Do you plan on attempting another rebuild of the post data for old posts from before the upgrade here? It would help us feel safer that more conversion bugs have been fixed etc.

Hello , Don't know if anyone else feels this issue or not but as an ex vBulletin user , we find IPB breadcrumbs a bit problematic regarding usability. Let me try to explain this a bit When a user is inside a thread , he doesn't see the thread name inside breadcrumbs http://d.pr/i/4mjU When a user is inside a specific forum section that specific forum section is located inside breadcrumbs http://d.pr/i/5mb7 On thread when the user wants to return master forum for that thread , he needs to click the last Breadcrumb item On forum if the user does the same thing , he will just refresh the page he is located at. 1. Question: why was so much functionality removed from V4 vs V3.4.x, both in the front end and in the ACP? Or has this not been added yet? 2. Secondly, it is great to have the opportunity to test, but in order to test properly it is a requirement, IMO, to have a site with data, based on an upgrade of an existing site. I don't necessarily want to lose data again, like in the move to 2.x, or to 3.x, or even from one point version to the next, as has happened in those cases. Currently, it looks like a lot of data is lost in the upgrade from 3.4.7 to 4.0.0, or is that purely because the upgrade routines aren't stable yet? Thanks in advance. Regards, Wim

Physical address: Does not get saved, and it picks up the country from somewhere, probably server setings? Addition: It is a no-no to include physical address location unless specifically set to allow it to be displayed. Breaks privacy laws in the EU. Kind regards, Wim

Ok, I just did a test (fortunately test only ) with a copy of a board which has tons of 3rd party add-ons installed. Wow, it looks strange/bad/weird, both the site and the admin panel. I also installed a blank one - that looks like it is supposed to, no prob. Does this mean I cannot upgrade until I have completely removed all 3rd party add-ons? Thanks in advance. Hi, Here are some ideas for IPB 4.X: [+] Sidebar: - In the sidebar the Latest Topics/etc displays only a tiny amount of info. What about being able to click on [Latest Topics] and that opens a new page and displays much more.

So I did the UTF-8 conversion as recommended to get ready for IPB4. The conversion completed successfully but now my forum is horribly, horribly slow. My server load averages went from sub 1 second to 20 seconds and climbing, all thanks to the UTF conversion it seems. What gives?!? I had to restore my database from backup just to get performance back. This sucks! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For a while a user admin Validation but now i do not have so much time to stay online , Can someone help me with all email user Validation Setup steps? Why do we need to know when the conversation was started in the message popup? It is not as important information as 'Last reply', and is already shown on the full messenger page. Please remove it from the popup.

Hi, Quick question, i upgrades from 3.4.7 (non live environment) and upgrade went great only problem... The navigation menu under pages is not showing up. If I go to the Menu page under Pages in settings, I can see all content still there. Is there a way is to get it back to the top navigation? Thanks

You guys are clearly in the middle of a very busy time with the release of the IPS4 Betas. I've had three issues on my 3.4.x install that came up and required placing tickets for support. None were critical, yet you came through and addressed them faster than I'd even expect in a normal time. Cheers and kudos to you! I have been publicly critical of the support team in the past, so it's only fair to also point out when you exceed expectations.

As this is not considered a bug, it at least is a very serious flaw. See also here: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/ACP-members-r1251/ There is no option anymore in the ACP to deal with multiple members simultaneously, like spammers. This is a must when managing boards with more than a few members. This is not a suggestion, in my view it is a bug. it works in 3.4.7, and has been there for many years in 3.x and before, so it not being there now is a flaw, and not a suggestion even if the remark was to post it here. "Full size" is in bottom left-hand corner of lightbox. That's a lot of 'wrist whiplash' to go from one corner ("View in lightbox") to the diametrically opposite corner ("Full Size"). 3. when choosing which forums to use as a filter for the vnc filter it may be better if the choice was to show what forums you do not want results for rather than the current option that way any 'new' forums started after the member made their choice will no longer be filtered automatically plus members then have to actually make a deliberate choice on which forums they want not to see, instead of the current way which encourages the majority of forums to be filtered by default
