seems that every level you delve into you have to re-assemble sidebar blocks. I wish there was a way to inherit the blocks settings from the enclosing parent, at least as a default then alterations could be made.

I created my logo and uploaded it but it appeared to small, so I made it a little bigger, now it looks a little to big. I also noticed that it's not responsive on my smartphone. It extends out of the screen. For appearances, I need to change it again, but I was wondering is there a standard size that will work best. If so, I will make it to those dimensions. Thanks

In topic view, unread topics are bolded which is achieved with the following code: {{if $row->unread()}} {{endif}}I'm trying to do the same thing for topic titles in "Last post info" on board index, but that code obviously doesn't work. Any ideas on how to do this?

when i had the system move files from one directory to another directory - it did not cleanup the leftover folders i have a folder for every month going back a few years most with just an index.html - but some still have random leftovers in them. Also since the system creates its own folders in the new directory, and then records this path to the database why not organize the folder by: Monthly_YYYY_MM instead of the current Monthly_MM_YYYY the former will make it sort all years together in month order.

I work with another script and they have the themes setup where the admin and the front-end themes are separate. I works wonderfully. I can only assume that most people creating themes for version 4 are only going to modify the front-end templates - creating basically a front-end theme. So, why have the front-end templates mixed with the back-end / admin templates? I like the idea of separate themes because if I created a custom theme I would never have to worry about updating the admin templates. When an update was issued by IPS I would always have the most current fixes for the admin side and only have to worry about any changes in the custom front-end templates I …

Are we going to see more examples of IP.Pages there is one tutorial on how to make reviews, but there is no really advanced stuff. Can IP.Pages not made more user friendly, at the moment you need to know how to code and setup stuff before you can fully appreciate how powerful IP.Pages is.

So I have notification turned on for all of my posts/topics/threads. It's on in my notifications settings. It's on for this thread and others. Yet I haven't received a single notification. I just checked the spam box as well as sending a test mail from gmail. The latter worked, nothing in the former and I'm wondering if others are experiencing the same.

As an administrator / moderator a tab appears "support" in the Navigation Bar. (that i can't seem to figure out how to move to different position) I would suggest this not be in the tabbed navigation - but should be a fourth icon along with the existing: Notifications (bell) | Messages (envelope) | Reported Content ( ! triangle ) | Support ( some icon )

I have many posts with quotes from prior to upgrading. None of them have the quote any longer. New quotes look fine, old ones are simply the text that was quoted followed by the reply. The background processes are still running. Will this eventually be repaired? If not, is there a query I can run to manually repair it? Thanks

there is no reciprocal link between a purchase / invoice / renewal and preview for any Advertisement, that was purchased. (or a way to preview the ad image & link from this context) you have no reference to the image, that is associated to the transaction. Also are no users/customers are associated with the list of advertisements - there is no way to know who's ad belongs to whom without having to see if the graphic has their name or compare urls. Which is the correct usage: The block key can be used in HTML templates and manual pages to fetch a specific block, for instance: {block="square"} or when looking at the "tags" on a page it shows it as: {block="26" title="square"}

Starting a new site soon, but I was curious about waiting for 4.0 as I use the hosted service offered by IPS (which is great by the way) I swore I would never ask an ETA question, but I am curious if any special sauce / development would delay 4 on the hosted environment or it will come out around the same time when 4 is released. Should I just wait? Not in a rush and don't need any special mods to get it started. Thanks JM

I find that I am missing several of the basic tools for getting my work ready for distribution/import to a live site. There is no longer the ability to export or import a block, or any templates. The option to download a database replete with all of it's database settings, templates, custom fields and categories is indeed a fine thing, but this very simply does not address the blocks embedded within those templates, the assets included on the page the database is used on that provide a custom style/javascript functionality, or the common need to export just a template for use with an existing generic database like the default articles system, or multiple available templat…

Where should I post my modification requests for 3rd party dev's? There used to be a request location but I don't see it anymore. I really want a simple mod that shows number of individual image views under each thumbnail for each image posted in a thread. Count would increment when thumbnails are clicked for larger view. I'm trying to display a post's Image in the "Record feed" block, however when I'm adding the code... {{if $record->record_image}} <div class="cCmsRecord_image"> <img class="ipsImage" src="{$record->record_image}"> </div> {{endif}}...to the RecordRow template, it won't show up. What am I doing wrong?
