I thought the new fandango sidebar should be configurable per page? So why in pages can I only set one sidebar, whatever I set on the homepage is mirrored throughout... On categories, records, everywhere.

Maybe it is me and I am just not getting it but the new notification(PRAISE JESUS FOR INSTANT NOTIFICATIONS) in theory works but for instance the little black banner I get at the bottom of the page. I click it and it takes me to wherever it is I need to go. Why does it not clear the notification out of the main list(the bell)? Even after checking and then replying to the post or whatever, I still have to manually scroll back, click the icon so the notification will go away? Unless I am missing something, why exactly does it work this way?

Okay, So while I appreciate every single thing that Invision Power Services has done in the past, present and ultimately, the future. I would like to just suggest one piece of advice. I understand that you guys work hard on tickets and bring us wonderful projects, I would just like a warning when tickets or site admins are going to be working on my tickets in the future. The reason being is because my site went down without warning or update on regarding what was going to happen. This HAS to be one of the worst editors I've ever dealt with for end user friendliness in quoting. I am participating in a thread, had early went to quote someone (had clicked the quote link) and decided not to. Now, whenever I try to reply to a post in that thread, that original quote is there and I can't get rid of it. Apparently it keeps a draft mode... but no way to delete the draft mode? If that's the case, then either get rid of the draft mode or give the editor the ability to delete the drafts. Apparently it's not THAT hard to do. Seems pointless having a unread content link for guests? a bit like the early days of 4.0 when Activity stream link was still there even when disabled. Either that or have a more friendly message that encourages guests to sign up and have the ability to follow threads more easily with an account.

I was just reading the following topic I thought it was a little harsh on IPS. I've been a customer since 2006 and I have personally always received superb levels of service from them and they do a sterling job in what is a tough market. I don't always agree with some of the changes implemented but they know the direction that they want to take. They stand out from the crowd and I would just like to say, well done and keep up the good work. I for one appreciate it.

When i open a topic from the Activity page in Safari and then hit the back button, I always get the Incapsula warning and need to fill out a captcha – every single time. It is getting really annoying and of course it doesn’t make much sense. Is there a way to adjust the Incapsula settings to prevent this from happening?

The default maximum number of login attempts allowed on new installations before an account is locked is currently 3. After making 3 failed login attempts, the account is locked for 15 minutes. Please increase the default to something more reasonable, like 10. Someone is not going to brute force an account with 10 requests every 15 minutes. They're just not. If you increase this to something more reasonable you could even get away with reasonably doubling the lockout to 30 minutes without causing legitimate users problems. But please don't leave this at 3. I absolutely detest websites that have such unreasonable login systems. There is no sensible reason to bloc…

I understood that 4.1 comes with some extra content to demonstrate what can be done with pages. I have just done a clean install of 4.1.2 but am only seeing the standard one article and page. Is the extra content a separate download or have I misunderstood? Thanks

I would love it ( in fact I really need this) if we can give permissions on profile fields. For example in my case I have two distinct member types... business and non-business. The former will need a website URL but the latter ( non-business) should not be able to add a URL in their profile.

There is no option to remove the red upgrade banner unless you renew your license. I guess IPB found a way to get a nag banner to stay to people who do not renew a license. However, I do not care for it and would like to see it go. Give us a option to close the banner.

Please set default to Date. Relevancy is not efficient by default. It should be pulling recent relevant results. Not v3.2.3 stuff. If I search "editor" I should find recent results talking about the editor, not from 2011. Date should list by most recent yes, but Relevancy should list recent relevant results.

May I suggest a more integrated solution for removing posts, banning someone, and deleting the reports. The current set up has too many steps and takes too much time. My mods see the report - go the admin area and than have to click numerous buttons to go thru the entire process. Then they have to remember to go back and remove the reports. What we do now: 1st part - ban member - with all features selected like IP, name move to banned user group etc. FYI having the link from the front page that give you info on the IP here would be very useful. 2nd part - flag as spammer - click back out of last screen and then go into another menu and flag as spammer 3rd part - rem…

Just playing with search and.... 1) I can't see a 'filter by rep / likes' option. Surely that's got to be pretty valuable, both for searching and now I think about it, activity streams. Actually at this point sure I'm not sure why there are different activity stream / search views. Surely search is effectively filtering activity by keywords. But anyway, think about it - show me posts by members with rep>100. Show me rep>10 posts. Show me John's highest-repped posts. 2) Where'd 'view as topics / posts' go? That was useful. So useful it's absence looks like a bug. Often you KNOW what you're looking for, you just need to scan a bunch of topic titles to spot it...

It would be great if you can allow from ACP, whether expanded or condensed view is set as default - our members are asking for condensed view as default but we can't set it as this, always expanded by default.
