When I use a computer, it works to search for the Display name to find the member. But on mobile phones it doesn't work. I think it's important to be able to search on Display name on mobile phones also.

if we choose to use cdn then having the font file stored in cdn would be great considering their size. atm forum currently links on /applications/core/interface/font this could improve pageload additionally if we have this ability to change the font storage directory no?

No Tag for Calendar - but hope it is still possible to suggest improvements. My community asks if its possible to have weeknumber on the calendar. They often discuss gatherings week so and so - and it is not possible to use the forum calendar when theres no number on the week there.. Thanks

Just went from the old subscriptions manager plugin to Nexus on 3.4.8 which worked great since the old plugin is not compatible with 4.0. However, I read somewhere that 4.0 Nexus does not support PayPal subscriptions? Does it support PayPal subscriptions like 3.4.8 Nexus does? This stops me dead in my tracks to upgrade to 4.0 if that is the case. Thanks!

Reviews allow "helpful votes", but I would like to also have this functionality for comments. In my case, I'm using both reviews and comments, but I'm using the comments section for "tips". So let's say someone doesn't want to leave a whole review, but has a "tip", they can leave it in the comment section. If the tip is helpful, they should be eligible for a "helpful" vote. Is there a way to accomplish this?

I'm not sure if this is a bug, a design fault or an intentional feature. Therefore, I will also post this as a bug report. In AS, with the first 25 entries, a user go to the AS, then click through from AS to the actual topic/post, and then return to the AS (using browser back button). This is a quick and effective way of going through all the new content since a user's last visit, and is how most of my users expect a forum / blog to work. However if the user 'loads more activity', and then clicks through from the AS to an entry beyond entry 25 (say for example activity 37), clicks through to that entry and then returns to AS (using the back button), …

The ability to upgrade with one click seems a little too simple. What happens if the upgrade bombs out in the middle? It's always recommended that users backup their files and database before upgrading. Would it be possible to build that into the upgrade button? I would definitely be more willing to upgrade regularly if it were an easier process. What I do now is turn site off, backup database, backup files, try upgrade from ACP, often fails, download files from client area, upload files, run upgrade, test site, turn site on. I'm sure it sounds like a simple task from a non-programmer (me), but it sure would be a great option.

It might be kind of fun to have a plug in where you can like your own post, but it kind of makes a joke out of it somehow... Like when I am drunk, posting on a board and want to like my post like 79 times. Some kind of self deprecating humor. Like a badge on the post for liking your own post.....

Hello guys, I would like to test the beta on my community but not on production. So I would like to "copy" (keep users, posts, attachment with all the same ID) the production and to "paste" it to another server. What's the best way ? 1/ Copy all files and upload them in the new server + export and import the SQL dump. Then upload beta6 files at the root and replace all ? 2/ Install a fresh version of the beta and use the converter app ? (but I think ID of my user will not be the same because i have the default user when I installed the beta) 3/ another ? Thanks a lot, And big thanks to IPS team which have made a great new release

Hi there, After the IPS 4 installation last week, blog entries import via RSS have stop working, which is the main activity and critical part of our community. After installation, existing blog entries showed duplicated entries. And forum members registered via Facebook are not showing profile pic. Really hope your support team could seriously look into my issues. Many thanks.

We have a lot of forums, but overall they can be grouped into a small number of categories: in our case public, all staff, and upper management. Every single forum in each of these categories has the same basic settings and permissions. As Invision continually adds new features, it would be nice to be able to edit entire groups of forums at once to bulk-modify the various settings. This could be done via a checkbox-type multiple-selection interface, or even better, by allowing "forums groups" to be defined that could be managed in the same way member groups are.

Right now we've got the "Recent Forums Images (Attachments)" plugin installed and my members really like it. They have suggested that a new type of stream that showed that content would be a great addition to streams. It would give an instagram-esque listing of all the recently-attached images matching the stream criteria.

This would be a great feature for example statuses or threads. What are you think about it?

Hi, IPS converter package doesn't come with an attachment.php to convert vBulletin 3.8.x attachment links (used for images, for example) to the new file name/path inside the IPS 4.x installation. I wrote this file and attached it to this message, so I hope to be helping other members who at some point had vBulletin 3.8.x installed and migrated to IPS 4.x (either directly or first to IPB 3.4.x and then to IPS 4.x). Just drop this file at the root of your website and all old links that makes use of attachment.php will keep working. IPS Team: you have my authorization to include this file in your converter package. Cheers, Gabriel. attachment…

If you use tags for organizational/categorical reasons (instead of certain sub-forums), like having a closed system with one tag members can select, it defeats the purpose to only show it in the content item view (when reading the actual topic). How do they click the tags to see all the topics (content)? They do not exist on mobile. Neither tags nor prefixes show in the stream on mobile and on the full site prefixes don't show in the stream (not a huge deal but...) on mobile, tags don't show in forum view. This is the biggest issue. Could we at least get tags in forum view on mobile? (Blog list, category view for articles, etc.) If this is a space issue, a …

@Rikki: Why do you not utilize theme variables more in your default theme? For example, in 4.0 I changed the area background color from #f9f9f9 to #f5f5f5. When upgrading to 4.1 you change it to no longer use that variable and instead hardcode the value. In places like this: /* Zebra striping */ /* Need to exclude all the other color options here, since they should override the zebra stripes */ .ipsDataList.ipsDataList_zebra .ipsDataItem:not( .ipsDataItem_selected ):not( .ipsModerated ):not( .ipsDataItem_new ):not( .ipsDataItem_success ):not( .ipsDataItem_warning ):not( .ipsDataItem_error ):not( .ipsDataItem_info ):not( .ipsDataItem_status ):nth-child(eve…

How much tweaking would be involved to allow users to create a dashboard with pre defined blocks? Some combination of Pages, Permissions ect... Maybe this is an extension of their profile. A page or more in the profile that lets them set up blocks? Just an idea..... or rather hope....

Now what I mean by this is when you create a block say for me it would be Related Articles. you can have the option to filter by tags or even a field value. So lets say I want to add a "Related News" block at the bottom of my record page. I can set it up to look for content that has the same tags. so say "Site News" it would look for all the site news but seeing as you have it set for 5 records to be pulled it will only show the five you want via the latest updated or the newest ones. Now say you have a review section and you want to find a review on related products games or anime you can filter by a custom field you have created. Lets take my anime reviews sect…

I've noticed in version 4, the option to set the header code for ads is not longer available. Is it possible to bring this back, as for those of us that user services like DfP we need to be able to add the matching code in the header for the ad tags to work.

While IPS4 has been out for some time, I was initially resistant to IPS4 because I didn't like the large font types set by default and that it looked like someone had gotten hold of the accessibility feature on my desktop (Windows 7) and set the font sizes to large type. Plus, the long loading times also prevented me from considering an upgrade. It's been a long time coming, but I finally decided to upgrade (due to some issues that my site recently experienced to unscrupulous visitors). This about a week ago when I finally requested an upgrade. While there are a lot of nice features that I've found very helpful to the software, there were a few items that really boiled my…

My idea is to add a feature to IPB that will allow an automatic topic expiration. This would be something configurable in the new forum settings. Ideally, I could create a new forum, and a field for "max topic age". When the topic age expired, typically by a cron job, it would be marked as hidden or expired. The user would be sent an email and they would have the option to renew the topic up to to X (configurable) amount of times. This feature would give some of us the capability to create posts that expire automatically and we can keep the forum clear of aging topics.

When attachments are stored in the database, the whole file is inserted in one row. This row could be very large and really mess up replication, especially if using synchronous replication using the Galera replication library. Also, storing large BLOBs in MySQL requires my.cnf configuration so it would be much better for many users if IPS4 could run with MySQL defaults (and still allow storing attachments in the database). Could you please consider "chunking" attachments into multiple rows where the default chunk size is 255KB with an admin setting to change the chunk size? See how MongoDB's GridFS stores files in two tables: https://docs.mongodb.org/v3.0/refere…

HTML is stripped and spoiler contents are shown, but all the various bugs have been closed. So this is posted as a suggestion. They are spoilers and you are in essence broadcasting them instead of hiding them. Matt had said the only way was to remove from search, I find that to be an acceptable solution. I'd rather they not show in the stream then be searchable. If you told me already spoilers weren't searchable I'd be fine with that. This would even solve any issue of revealing a spoiler in search. But any solution is welcome, as long as the contents are not shown in the stream. Thanks. Bug report:

The report system in 3.X was perfect. My complaints with the report system in 4.0 and now 4.1: 1) The reported post changes in the report system if the actual post is edited. This is terrible since often a mod will edit a post with offensive material after reporting it (so that we can decide if points are necessary or not). This makes it EXTREMELY confusing when a staff member has to go to the actual post in question and see the post log. If you insist on keeping this inane and self-defeating feature in, please at least include the ability to see the post log within the report center. 2) The mods and admins used to check the report system all the time. This is n…

Actually there's no way to customize and make the birthday a required profile field during registration without third-parties plugins. Would also be interesting if the IPS has an option to force users to fill some profile fields if they signup using external login handlers and skip this fields from registration screen.
