Hi there, I'm wondering how support requests from guests can work in IP.Commerce. If a guest sends a new support request, how will he get an answer? I could create for instance a required custom field "email address", but : the staff would have to reply on this email address and then we don't use the support module anymore… this custom field should be visible only for guests, but I can't find this option in the support module. Do you have any idea? Thanks!

Requesting the ability for users to play attached video files directly in a post. Currently attached videos just show up as a download link and can't be played in the browser like Youtube and Vimeo videos can. I see that editing the source HTML allows embedding to some extent (not that I would want to enable HTML posting for anyone other than admins), but then it won't work with board attachments since they do not include the filename/extension at the end of their links. If this is already possible through other means, drag drop import to a post and then directly embedding, I am all ears.

Hi folks, In your new v4 there is no longer a members tab. Marc showed me how to create one by adding a menu item and linking it to a search. That's fine. But I would like this refined a bit when you get around to improvements, as follows To be able to have it sort a little more: 1) By date (and to provide a date range) 2) Then, alphabetical within the date Right now, I have it sorted by date, so the newest students can find each other. Instead of asking City/Province, State. Why don't we just ask country, then zip. After zip it would auto fill. If no autofill fall back onto manually entering rest of information. I've seen a few sites do it and love seeing it when I don't have to type as much information in by hand.

Hello, In forum view it would be good to have a small symbol showing next to a topic title if it has a poll attached to it. The reason for this is so you can easily decide on which poll you want to add by starting to type the topic title in rather than scrawling through all your topics to see which ones have polls attached.

So, since I cannot use the Commerce help desk for guests I went and renamed the friendly URL to "customer-support" (for all three friendly URLs). I did this so I could use the common Support URL of /support for my personal support page. So I went back to my page and attempted to rename the file name to "support" but since Commerce is installed it has basically hijacked this URL and makes it fully unusable to me. I feel that if the URL is renamed appropriately (for all associated URLs) that it should release the URL for your use in the pages app as this would give me control over the actual URLs of everything I need. I use the databases, and generate forum topics based on a database entry. Some of the databases have multiple categories, which have their own sub-forum. My question, is there an option which will automatically move the forum topic for a database entry when it's database category changes? Instead of having to move them manually. Thanks. Self-explanatory: what would be your personal dream feature for IPB? What one thing would you love to see the most? Time to be selfish.... For me, as I mentioned elsewhere, I would love to see a native PDF annotation system, where individuals and/or groups could comment (colour-coded of course) on PDF documents, track changes, versions, etc. Naturally, it would be accompanied by a badass PDF viewer/reader, which could be embedded in forums posts, articles, etc (and while I'm dreaming, why not extend it to .djvu documents?).

On my main website I use the rest API for topics and posts feed... But i'll stop because : We can't choose to use the permission restriction. It returns all topics if users have or don't have permission to see. It should be based on guest permissions We can't choose HOW MANY topics we want to select (I have made a plugin for erase the amount of returns). Default is 25 per pages There is no method for select a specifiq topic based on his ID We can't add more arguments like order by : last_post_id or something else... Why ? My idea is, it would be great if assigned moderators, could , within each post, click on a button, to feature posts, that could automatically appear in a widget (sidebar widget) . I know there is a widget somewhere ,to add manually some threads to be featured, (i think) but what i mean is a simple click on a button in a post. also, it would be nice for the admin/mod to be able to give extra reputation ( +10) at once, for extraordinary posts (also with a click on the post, ) both of these buttons visible only to specific mod /admin group ofcourse

So i was thinking that for those of us who have an open tag system (i.e. where tags do not have to be defined within a predefined set): when someone enters a tag for a forums post, blog entry, etc. etc., is it possible to have a responsive list of existing tags come up based on user input, much like when you type @ followed by a user name a list of users comes up based on your input? I think this might help avert typos and, hence, the unintended creation of more tags than is necessary.

Maybe this functionality exists, but where the Next Unread Topic link for logged in users is, I would add a link for Next Topic for guests. This way search engines will pick up a link within a topic page to the next topic that is in order. Right now, they only pick up links to other topics from a similar content block within a topic I believe. I imagine this would be good for SEO and internal linking. I don't believe it shows anything to guests currently. Under each topic members see:

I have been used to modifying wordpress themes where each page gets different class in body. e.g: "single-post post-id-123 post-type-books post-category product-single product-category menu-item-123 widget-text widget-recent-posts" etc. So basically i can make each page, each area look different, hide some parts, add :before :after content, change fonts etc and that's what i do all the time. But IPS have some major limits on that part. Even forum index page doesn't have any extra unique class in body. I just made a new installation on Version 4.1.19.3 and toke me almost 1 hour. 5 months ago on same hosting and server the installation toke me 1-3 minutes. Now the installation have to reload more then 233 pages before it's complete. On several pages it crash and i have to reload the page to keep going. What a nightmare.

Hi, after about a year of using IPS for commercial purposes I want to post all the feedback I have for it. Granted some of these issues might be user-side issues, and if that is the case please tell me. "Allow users to purchase more than one" doesn't work correctly with recurring subscriptions. If someone purchases a recurring subscription, and that subscription expires (or is cancelled) they are never allowed to re-purchase or re-subscribe to that item again. Kindof defeats the purpose... and I'm somewhat sure this is a bug. Renewal agreements are not mandatory if purchasing a recurring subscription with a credit card. It seems the ability to disable gif's in avatars was removed in 4.x. We had this feature in 3.x. Please add it back in. It gets very distracting when reading a thread and half the posts are animating images from the corner of your eye.

I was just looking over the forums and found a title that was like, "huh?" When I went to it and than saw the news I was a little shock that I counld't find any announcement in the news section, my feeds I get for news from IPB, are an email of any type that that IPS was discontinuing IP.Chat https://invisionpower.com/news/ I had to open a ticket to confirm it was going away and get a link to the site --> https://invisionpower.com/ips-chat/ I was planning on using it in an idea I was setting up for. Hello IPS community, I rarely visit this site, or in general had any communication with the IPS team between 2014 (when I bought the IPB 3.4.6) and today. I renewed my license once during this period , but in general since my forum was working and performing well (according to my criteria), I did not really care. I'd love to be able to create activity streams for different types of featured content; but at present, there doesn't appear to be an official way to do this. I think adding a simple "Featured" filter for activity streams would be a great little addition.

Has IPS ever considered archiving off all the old posts on this site? While there is no problem with performance, I'd just like to see them removed from search results. I get tired of doing a search for something only to find that the most relevant posts are from the 2.x and 3.x days. Either that or reset the default to show results sorted by date.

Hi, Just for feedback, I just accepted the offer to upgrade to 4.1.19.3 from the AdminCP and after entering the IPS details, it froze. Have gone back to step 3, and its happened again. Is it an issue at the IPS end?
