Hello, I'd like to either get some advice if possible, or report a possible bug with IPS 4.2.x with regard to dealing with directories on SMB shares. I have a test installation located on an SMB share, with the html root of the website located on a share like so: \\smbserver.domain.net\web\ips4\html The problem is, regardless of any variation of the above path I enter into the constants.php for either the Datastore or Temp directory, IPS creates all the files in the wrong location. Specifically, instead of creating the files here: \\smbserver.domain.net\web\ips4\html ... it creates it here instead: \\smbserver.domain.net\web\smbserver.domain.ne…

You have 2 categories in this database. You can only have 1 category to store records in the database directly. I am confused so I have to make a separate database for each category in pages now? I just renewed my IPB license to start on my site again. I finally have the time to work on it. I didn't think I had to make a separate database for each category before. [edit] I have added articles to more than 1 category. I am just wondering what the warning is for now.

Hey there! We have several marked events on our website for featuring, that have a display banner... usually a picture from a previous year, or a company banner logo... like such: We're building our website homepage off REST API calls to display in a different template, and would like a way to retrieve these images. I did not see it in the JSON response for EVENT however... Is this something that can be currently achieved? If not, could this be added to a future update? We'd really love to have this ability

We decided to limit the image post size to 700 pixels maximum in width and length and when we was doing the work on the forum server many of the attachments was over sized 2000 plus x 2000 plus of nothing of great value, members just download from the web and uploaded to the forum... Now on the forum this is a global setting and not in group content setting which only allows the same setting for all forum members but we have a group of members that post regular photo reports which want to use larger images.. i'm asking if this can be added into group content setting then we could create a secondary groups ie "photography" which will allow them members to post la…

Hello, I want to embed the forum into my site, which means forum will be using my user database (including google, and facebook register and login) Forum site will be seperated from my main site (e.g. http://forum.mysite.com, http://www.mysite.com), and the look will be the same with my www site. Seems I have two options like the below: Changing header and footer using theme configuration Using SSO But I still cannot find the best solution to integrate member register and login between 2 sites. I went into our database and messed with our Forum Bot and changed the member ID to 10000. Since then I deleted the Forum Bot, but now the ID of whoever registers falls after 10000. I only have 8 people right now on our forums. Anyone know how to fix this?

If people are allowed to edit their own content, in a Pages database, what happens if maintaining that content falls to another person? Is there a way to allow multiple people to edit specific content without creating 17000 usergroups? Or be able to reassign it?

Hello, I'm having issues moving a topic to another forum. The forums "Accepted Applications/Denied Applications" are marked as Discussions so I know they aren't category, For some reason these particular forums can't be selected and be moved in there as shown in the picture. Any help please? I can select everywhere else including sub forums, just not these for some reason. I tried different themes and default, but nothing. Even messed with the forums permission, still no go.

Hi, I would like to place Adsense in the first post and after first paragraph of the post. Since I read the recommendations here to try the combination of Amazon S3, Cloudfront with IPS, I've tried several times over the last 3 months to get it working properly with little lasting success. Just when you think you've got it working, the monthly cost is almost non existent, you find you haven't got it working for long and you begin the process of recovering your files and studying the AWS documentation before trying again. howdy all - sorry to clutter up with too many questions, but the upgrade to the current IPB version created a problem: even after trimming back, our MySQL database is now a bit under 1.5 GB, and our shared server has a 750 MB cap. i literally don't know how to get anywhere near there without losing valuable post data...we've just under 500k posts so no idea why it's that big, but i don't know what else to do. i don't believe Invision still does small individual hosting (far as i know), can anyone recommend a decent priced host with more database space? we've got like 20 GB of server space and use maybe 2, this is our only issue currently. appreciate any help here,…
