Never mind,  It has been so long I do not remember how this stuff works so I am just stumbling around.  Disregard my rants.  Understanding all this stuff was read difficult before my stroke, now trying to comprehend what the instructions are trying to explain is even harder.  Even simple things for other are difficult for me to understand.

I will have a look into this for you.
For the time being, if you need any JS, just add this in the theme header or footer options.
I will add this ability in a future version.

If you are still having this issue, please do the following, which should now correct the problem

@Jim M I was facing the same issue (we had literally thousands of those errors in our logs), and your advice to disable the template disk caching solved the issue for me. I only wonder if this is something more serious that must be addressed.
For those looking for this option: Advanced Configuration > Server Environment > Performance > Enable template disk caching?

I mentioned the issue in my reply above, you need to manually specify the ROW_FORMAT value in the ALTER TABLE query to avoid using the COMPACT format set by default by your hosting.

In your example above you're still skipping that part:
ALTER TABLE downloads_ccontent ENGINE=InnoDB; instead of:
    ALTER TABLE downloads_ccontent ENGINE=InnoDB ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC;

You have to do this yourself, and it is quite easy to do once you use the right tools.
If you don't want to use SHH and MySQL commands, then I would suggest a tool like HeidiSQL. You can easily convert your database tables from MyISAM to InnoDB using the 'Bulk Table Editor' within the Table Tools.
If you do not want to download more software, you can use phpMyAdmin (You will most likely find this in your CPANEL account or something similar) and run an alter command like this:  'ALTER TABLE table_name ENGINE=InnoDB;'

    Hope this helps?! 🙂

I'm not trying to plug my own site, but I made this post awhile back so I could always remember how to do it. This has always worked for me.

Try using this kind of query which sets the table to use the DYNAMIC row format by default instead:
    ALTER TABLE nexus_licensekeys ENGINE=InnoDB ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC;
That is, as long as your host has it enabled. I've seen plenty of hosting with only the COMPACT option available, unfortunately.

Since the latest patch I have problems with setting cookies, it's a disaster!
e.g. I have a Dark/Light Mode Switcher which saves the setting as a cookie in the browser. Doesn't work anymore with the latest update, as well as pretty much all non-standard cookies that don't come from IPS.
Is there any way to change this?

One of the ways I handle spam posts is to set the first post to moderate.
Go to your ACP, then Member groups, click on members and then the Content tab. Set 'Remove content moderation' to 1 and 'Approve items of content (posts, comments, etc)'.
While it may be a bit more work, at least this keeps the spammers posts off your forum, and you can just hit the spammers icon to get rid of them at your leisure.
I have been using this method for about 4 years and I get virtually no spam on my forum.

Why not do a license check for testinstall.  If running under that license type disable all functionality you wouldn't want running under that kind of environment.

Marc, I have been asking for you guys to change this for years now, I have suggested that when on a localhost these options should be disabled by default.
Sometimes when you copy a live site over to a localhost environment, you can forget to turn these options off. The last time, this caused me a lot of issues, with a few members accusing me of trying to rip them off because of the double payments.

TDBF reacted to opentype in New year’s resolution: Make the Marketplace great again
I’m not judging in any way, just listing some observations about the developer/Marketplace situation in the recent years.
4.5 tightened the rules drastically. Result: several developers left for good. price increases. Developments needs a self-hosted installation and possibly a demo website. It’s now 850 + 300 annually. Someone starting out as developer really needs some killer products to earn that back and then generate profits. Cloud testing of resources would make it even more expensive (+1,788 annually).  Shift/changes to cloud. The lower tiers don’t have the ability to install third-party products. This decreases the reach and makes running independent third-party shops less useful/profitable.  Signatures turned off. No possibility for passive advertisement through community posts.  Limited compatibility field. Sales can only be created for one version, limiting the income.  I have no magical solutions to offer, but are improvements for this something we could put on the table for 2023?
Currently, I am not very optimistic. We only have a handful of active developers left with continued announcements of departures. If it is still working well for some (?), it’s probably because of a large set of files and existing customers with renewals. But I can’t see how new developers would want to get involved in the current situation, replacing the ones who left or even growing the marketplace.
I understand the costs and downsides for IPS. Paying for code reviews, chargeback fees and of course all the support issues with third-party resources. But then again: Looking at the broader field of online software: all the big players strive with and in part because of a flourishing third-party marketplace. So, improvement could easily be a “win-win-win” situation for IPS, developers and IPS customers.

(I would have some suggestions myself but I don’t want to push the topic in a specific direction, so I am leaving it at the problem statement for now.)

    Couldn’t agree more.
I'm evaluating whether it's worth keeping development when IPS5 is released. I'm probably one of the top earners due to the insane number of resources available but It's not worth it anymore. So much hassle for so little return. It definitely used to be better. In my specific case, while I have a lot to deal with/support, it's not a lack of support or new stuff. It is just what the marketplace became… and that’s it.

This makes me sad.  I remember visiting the Marketplace to see the new and exciting offerings.  Now those are rare.
I use several mods to make my site what I want.  Regardless of the "community" direction IPS is taking for its high-paying corporate customers, I still use the software almost exclusively as a forum.

Why didn't I think of this before? 😞

Just an update. I will be discontinuing any further development of this plugin in the future.
I have, however, totally rewritten this plugin from the ground up as an application instead. Not only that, but I have removed some features as they are no longer required due to being in the core now, and plan to add more features in the future.
The first release will be a beta version for testing purposes. if you would like to help out, let me know, and I will send you a copy to play with.
