    Its very very likely this is related to email. If there are only a few followers, it would send out the emails right away. So if there is an issue with that email sending (the server taking too long to respond), it can delay that process. It having saved in the database, would actually point to this even more so.

    If the IP is causing you an issue, and this isn't something you can change your end for some reason, then yes we can bypass that check for your site, if you would like us to do so? Note, that while I completely understand the comments on bad UX there, this is a security function, and security would always come above user experience.

    Ah, the issue here is your moderator settings (Members->Staff->Moderators). You need to set the "Can future publish Article" moderator permission for that database, as mentioned in the description below that field.

    The admin CP and front end login are different in nature, in terms of timeout. The front end can indeed be logged in for weeks. The admin CP cannot. It will log you out if inactive. However if its logging you out during use, that can only be because the session data is changing on your browser end (usually the IP). It is not possible to make both the same

    Ensure you are exporting and importing the database with the same collation and char set. The error there is a mixed collation exception coming back from your mysql instance

    This is usually reset only when you reset your main URL. I have reset this for you, as I see you have no test install at present. Its usually advisable to use a subdomain that you can then point anywhere you need
