Stuart Silvester reacted to Adriano Faria in 4.7.15 changes
You should add in the Changes affecting third-party developers and designers the new parameter in the \IPS\Node\Model::setLastComment().
This is breaking/locking the apps and crashing the whole board install and requires the immediate attention of the developer.

Stuart Silvester got a reaction from Jon Matcho in New Member Group? Want to moderate 2 posts before granting full access
There's a group setting for this, edit your 'Members' group, go to the 'Content' tab, enable "Require approval before content shows" and configure the limits as required.

Stuart Silvester got a reaction from Joel R in Post Before Registering does not work as expected
In Pages, each custom field has it's own permissions. You'll need to configure these for the title and content field (and any others) to enable guests to see them on the new record form.

Stuart Silvester got a reaction from Maxxius in View Signatures Default Settings
It has been that way for about a decade now (since early v4 development), Signatures aren't as an important as they used to be and very often add a lot of clutter.
As a work around though; if you enable the show signatures to guests setting, that preference will be retained into a newly registered account.

I believe our issues were solved right around this time. Thank you.

I have passed this feedback to our Cloud team, they'll be reviewing and making adjustments as needed. Normal usage shouldn't be causing the puzzles to be prompted, so we'll likely need to make some adjustments.

I tried again this morning, and it worked, the forum has been upgraded.

Stuart Silvester got a reaction from SeNioR- in My site is down / slow
We're still actively mitigating the DDOS attack on some sections of our network. This isn't a network-wide issue and does not affect all customers.
4xx errors are likely to be WAF related, such as making too many requests in a short time.

We use the exact same editor you can download from CKEditor.com, we do not make any changes to it.

You have a `misc` column on the `core_reputation_index` table that isn't part of Invision Community. It's possible that this was added by a third party at some point and can be removed if you are no longer using it.

You shouldn't be editing any files directly. It's controlled by the 'CACHE_PAGE_TIMEOUT' constant for self-hosted customers. Using constants.php: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/advanced-options/configuration-options/using-constantsphp-r25/

You would want to use
\IPS\Theme::i()->settings['my_theme_setting']

Is your extension listed in your /applications/<app>/data/extensions.json file?
If not, adding a dummy extension and deleting it will recreate that file with the correct extensions.

Stuart Silvester got a reaction from The Old Man in Howler.js - Outdated resource
We don't use Howler, it was left in place so it wouldn't affect any third parties with its immediate removal. It'll be removed from our distribution at some point.
None of the fixes in the CKEditor update are impacting to us or affect our usage, we have no immediate plans to upgrade it further in version 4.

Stuart Silvester reacted to Marc Stridgen in Slow posting new topics but fast to post replies
Its very very likely this is related to email. If there are only a few followers, it would send out the emails right away. So if there is an issue with that email sending (the server taking too long to respond), it can delay that process. It having saved in the database, would actually point to this even more so.

Stuart Silvester got a reaction from Marc Stridgen in Just a question about HTML5 <video> tag
That's expected, due to lazy-loading.
The Javascript asks the browser which formats it can play and adds the appropriate one to the src attribute. However, I do see there's an issue there were the second source element isn't being parsed properly to have the data-video-source attribute. I was able to reproduce that and commit a fix for it.

It's possible that you're using a different PHP version/install on command line to the web server. It would be worth checking that /usr/bin/php is the right executable.

Stuart Silvester reacted to Ehren in Invision Community 5: Badge creation and icon customization
Invision Community offers fantastic ways of customizing the user experience for your members, and today, we’re excited to introduce some new and really simple ways of customizing Invision Community 5 even further using our new icon tools.
Icon Picker
Lets begin with our brand new icon picker. Containing both Font Awesome icons and emojis, the new picker allows you to easily search and assign icons to specific areas throughout your site. Lets take a look at some examples!

Navigation icons
Adding icons to the navigation list has been a highly requested feature, so we're happy to announce that you can now use this new picker to do exactly that, for both the horizontal and vertical navigation panels, without needing to modify your theme.
Forum icons
Uploading forum icons is a great way to personalize individual areas of your community. In the past, these icons have typically been images, uploaded via the admin panel. In addition to the upload form, the icon picker now makes it a breeze to assign icons to forums - and if a Font Awesome icon is chosen, it'll even inherit the featured forum color.
Forum Feature Color
We have brought the existing forum feature color to feed view allowing for a flash of color and personalization that helps associate a color with a specific forum. The feature color pairs really well with the card image to lift the forum display.
Icon creator for badges, ranks and reactions
Creating unique badges, ranks and reactions is a great way to boost activity within your community by encouraging members to share more engaging and frequent content - but designing these icons from scratch using a graphics program often comes with hurdles of its own.
With our new icon creator, you can now design your own custom icons for badges, ranks and reactions straight from your Admin panel, using a combination of colors, icons and shapes.

We think this new icon creator will make the rank, badges and reactions features even more accessible for everyone, allowing you to create a user experience that is uniquely yours. With Invision Community 5, bringing in customization and personalization moves beyond adding new themes.
We're excited to see how you can take advantage of these new tools, and we look forward hearing your feedback in the comments below!
