Any expected date of release, I'm highly interested.

Building what we call "widgets" is very expensive. It adds significant database overhead, which is why we almost always cache them. It means that one process builds them, and this built version can be shared with hundreds and possible thousands of subsequent page views.
The downside is that we cannot allow any personalisation of the widget based on the member that created the cache for it. This is why we cannot show unread topics in widgets (or feeds as discussed here).
It is a logical resource problem, not an ideological problem.
We have a duty of care to ensure that your site, no matter if it receives 100 clicks a day, or 1000 clicks a minute responds quickly and doesn't consume a disproportionate amount of resources to the point where performance degrades.
Marketplace authors often write plugins that significantly increase the resource footprint in a way that would be unsustainable for customers with the busiest communities but offer more functionality such as unread markers for widgets. We allow it because they benefit some communities but it is not something we can offer in the core software because we simply cannot allow a community to degrade as it scales.

There isn't really a workaround there. It's an addition. There are performance reasons we don't add this to the core platform, as mentioned in the topic above.

While there may be sites who can use things like this, they are not necessarily always something that is good to add to the core platform. If this was the case, the marketplace wouldn't exist. This is where the 3rd party community comes in.

Application and plugin developers develop for people who purchase their application or plugin. So by definition, in this case, the only people purchasing that addon are the people who need that added. We do the same, but have a broader audience. The people who are buying our product, are not only people who need that feature added. There is nothing wrong with that. Its just the way it is.
I'm sure there is a store somewhere that sells leopard print car seat covers for Ferraris. I'm also pretty sure thats never going to come as a default option

We would never leave things off for any longer than absolutely needed. We certainly understand people use these things and wish for them to be enabled if possible. I have created a new ticket for you and excalated it to our developers, so we can get this looked into

Maybe someone could write a plug-in to replace the original files with resized versions? Plug-in could be a simple system task to do these conversions weekly or monthly.
If thumbnails ever regenerated, the resized version will be used as the original even though it is a smaller file. Note that users who download originals would receive the resized smaller file.

We need the ability to block form submission if there are links or a character match for http etc…
Without the ability to send links, they’ll stop spamming.

    It’s getting terrible lately.

I have updated FTP details on the file, please connect to help explain why original images aren't getting deleted from the upload folder.
Each month folder is adding 3-6 GB every month.

Gauravk reacted to kotaco in Gallery Mass Image Management
We utilize a very large gallery and at times there is a need for some mass cleanup.  We have noticed the following items could be improved:

Currently there is no option to select multiple images to change owner, must be done one by one. You can hide/delete/etc, but not alter ownership. Currently there is no option to move images into another users album if moderator/admin. You can only move them into albums you have created. If an album has ownership changed, there is no option to apply that change to the images inside the album. Therefore the album is under a new owner, but the images remain under the original album owner. This is ok in some cases, but undesirable in others, an option would be helpful here.

Sure go ahead, but please make note of all enabled plugins and apps so that you can re-enable them only and not the dormant ones (disabled for a long time).

We would have to first create a fix for the issue in order to do that. Once its resolved, we would tend to get fixes out quite quickly for these kinds of things

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I can confirm this should be further reviewed and I have logged an internal bug report for our development team to investigate and address as necessary, in a future maintenance release.

Going by your own logic - Why the system isn't deleting, ignoring, killing, crushing, trashing, not seeing, not factoring, not considering - EXPIRED SUBSCRIPTION.
In IPS Binary 01010101 language, why Expired sub IS NOT EQUAL TO ZERO.
With so many synonyms and ALL caps, IPS should understand how much frustration this illogical behavior costs us dearly, every day.
We spend loads of money for user acquisition and when they try for one month and they aren't able to upgrade to annual after expiry, it makes them feel that we are trapping them in monthly billing for more money.
Some complain and most leave quietly, with tons of abandoned carts daily.
    It's a real shame.

It's incredible that this huge problem is still there. I suffer it every month.
It's even worst to see dozens of posts from other members having the same issue and IPS not saying a thing about it. They said already that it's perfect the way it is, it's intended to work like that 😞
Now I can see new voices from well known contributors and programmers in the marketplace saying that it's not working logically, that it should be fixed and make it work the way logic says it should work.
Bit where is IPS doing? Ah yes, they are adding an annoying fixed link in green colour to promote their cloud service without an option to hide it.
I am suffering the same renewal problem with a few more clients again. They cannot renew and they cannot buy the same product 😞 that's crazy.
I am glad to see others are complaining. But IPS is doing nothing about it. Maybe I am wrong. I assume they are doing nothing because they did not say they are going to do something about it. New features are 'requested' in Hump Day's posts instead of reading the feature suggestions and our complaints.
Self hosted clients are also IPS clients and we are being listened. If we were, huge problems like the renewals reported several times would have already been fixed, because it's a critical feature that is not working as it should.
Many users are complaining about it because the average user/client expects this feature to work the way it's been reported, not the way it's been developed.
10 comments in this thread. None belongs to IPS.
I am an IPS client, very happy with the software. But these things turn me on fire. I am diligently paying my fees, I have the right to put forward want I think. Moreover, if I am helping IPS to improve its software solution, because it affects my business directly.
This issue is affecting my business and many other businesses and we are not being listened.
    Thanks a lot.

Invoiced for payment subscriptions seem incredibly outdated in 2022.  So throwing my support in to get this fixed as it is absolutely not how the average user would expect the feature to work.

Agreed.  This has been an ongoing hassle for years.  No idea how much business I lost because of the people that didn't reach out to let us know there was an issue.
