Ibai got a reaction from mtlurb in Date format used here
I never understood who the hell designed that date format, it makes no sense at all!

Ibai reacted to Richard Arch in Date format used here
Can you use an international format to display dates?
This looks like 2nd of February to me and others this side of the Atlantic ocean. Using a format like 2022/11/02 or 02 November 2022 would make the whole site easier to read.
This just looks like an old update to me 🙂

Surprised to see /contact/ isn't in the robots.txt! 😬

Ibai reacted to Daniel F in Why ips don't want to add icon to menu manager
You can use icons and even emojis in the title field.

Ibai reacted to Daniel F in Caching and views/hits increase
There’s a great way to utilize the cloudflare workers for the guest page counts, so that the page count is increased even if the guest gets only the cached page and the original request never makes it to your own server.
It’s going to take some time, but I’ll share the instructions ( or app) in few weeks

Ibai reacted to Randy Calvert in Caching and views/hits increase
In 4.7.4, guest page caching is being removed.

Ibai reacted to Afrodude in CSS question...or disappointment
You're kidding right? because you can simply do it with one button "Del", and then you don't have to rewrite anything. Issues is fixed.

Ibai reacted to JohnCourt in Automated Email to Member When Content is Featured
I would love to see notifications when an admin or staff recognizes member content. Here are a few examples of notifications sent to a member when:
Notification sent when gallery image is featured Notification sent when any content is featured Notification sent when content is picked by "Our Pics" As it is right now, members would not know if their content was featured or chosen for "Our Picks".
I am sure there are other "ego booster" notifications that could be triggered. This would increase happiness, ego, and recognition, and encourage members to return to the community and engage, or re-engage.
Also, I think it would be really neat if a topic could be pushed as a Bulk Mail from the front end. There are many instances when a really wonderful topic has been created by one of our members, or by Staff, and a quick button for use by admins would be nice to click at the topic level, and push that topic out as a bulk mailing.
Thanks for the consideration.

Ibai reacted to David N. in Super obvious way for members to find their posts
I recently read a case study over on the admin zone where they studied how forums were used and one of the major points that came out were:
Most people googled something, came to a single page, either found their answer or didn't, and left never to come back again. For the few who sign up and ask a question or reply to a topic, when (and if) they decide to come back and see if there was an answer, most of them have the hardest time trying to find what they posted. I suggest adding a super obvious easy way for anyone to find their posts. Either a big green "Find my posts" button, or a less conspicuous "MY POSTS" link in the member pop-up menu like this:

Ibai reacted to SeNioR- in [SEO] Ability to edit URLs for Topics
Pages has an option to edit the URL, so why not add that for the topics as well? 😉
Google doesn't like too long URLs*, which are unfortunately created by the topic title name.
Instead of an automatic title like in the example above:
https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/469943-ability-to-re-order-create-menu-functions-a-current-applicationpages-design-issue/
You could set your URL, containing only key phrases to:
https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/469943-ability-reorder-functions-pages-issue/
* - Why having shorter URLs improves your ranking on Google

I think you mentioned that you'd do this at least 3 years ago...which is, again, why @Adlago and myself have had to start this process ourselves.

Ibai reacted to Matt in CSS question...or disappointment
I have mentioned multiple times that we are going to create a new CSS and JS framework that will be lighter. It is not a fast undertaking though and needs to be planned in stages.

Ibai reacted to GazzaGarratt in Plugins & Applications
Thanks for that @LemonGrenade - glad there is something more up to date if people are desperate to spend more to get the data working now.
However, I think what @drawncodes is looking for is for this to be a core function rather than an additional plug-in we've paid for separately before, I know I certainly am 🙂
From an aesthetic point of view too, seeing the profile avatars rather than just the profile name, suits the way many websites have evolved. A bit like this:
People connect visually more so of late and they sometimes look out for their favourite user by their profile avatar.

Ibai reacted to sulervo in iPad/iPhone image browse
It's terrible to try browse images in vertical view. Arrows are not working at all.
In horizontal view all is fine.
Maybe this can fix?

Ibai reacted to Alexandru in Plugins & Applications
After 5 years or maybe even more of using Invisioncommunity packages until 4.6+ I was pretty happy with everything. Now there are some new updates coming out every now and then.. Especially now with the latest update 4.7 a lot of plugins aren't working anymore. I have this problem with "Couldn't get the list of blocks.." on manage blocks on 3 or 4 suites.
The suggestion for today is:
Plugins such as, 'General Statistics', 'Who Was Online', 'Group Name Indicator' should be directly implemented to the invision community packages for installation.
It would help a lot of community owners and even businesses with these plugins.. Because with all the updates going on now, we get new features but also a lot of problems for current plugins already installed on our website.
Please consider my suggestion and try implementing it. As a invisioncommunity client I'm pretty satisfied with the services provided, but we need a little bit more.

Ibai reacted to Nakamura RTS in Please add Twitch for the Social Profiles
While one can mod these in, I 100% agree it needs to be officially supported. No Tiktok, no Discord, no Twitch.
It's 2022, this should be a top priority now.

Ibai reacted to Rikki in CSS question...or disappointment
Maybe y'all develop differently to me, but personally I wouldn't browse through a random CSS file to find classnames - there's no context (beyond the classname anyway; you don't get any of the cascade, inherited properties etc. that might affect it).
It makes much more sense to use the web inspector to see what is actually being applied to the element you want to change.
It may be a difficult transition at first but i would consider this an opportunity to improve your own development process.

Ibai reacted to opentype in CSS question...or disappointment
It was always wrong though. You would change a core file and so every future update of that file would cause an unnecessary conflict. Adding an override in the custom.css was always the right solution. So, the change just prevents you from doing it the wrong way.

Hello,
I would like to suggest adding the possibility of marking forum posts as unread.
Thank you

Ibai reacted to The Old Man in CSS question...or disappointment
Absolutely agree, hiding the CSS templates is ridiculous! It was like a live, instant reference, so useful and tbh having realised, I'm unwilling to update the last of my live sites. Having to enter and exit designers mode is no good, it's slow, clunky, buggy, and you even advise us not to do it on live sites. Who in their right mind would do that when they need to make some quick changes to custom css templates or look up some css to refresh their memory?
By all means, remove edit permissions if you absolutely must, but what's the harm in leaving the templates read only and searchable?
