hello, i see this support system has no privacy , some time we have in some issue and have to post some critial errors and other personal things here when support person ask, and the support person will not response in time and any body can download and see the information.
like in my last thread where support person ask me to give us the slow query logs, and when i post it some people download it , those are not support person of invison community board. because support person response after few hours and many people can download and see the slow query logs.
you have to thing about this or do some solution where we can post some information that only invision communtiy support person can see or is their any button to lock the information, which support person have access only and if they want they can public it.

we don't want to share every thing public. and the problem is we don't even edit our threads .

Askancy reacted to JohnDar in Option for post thumbnails to display in a row
My Forum is quite image heavy, with members posting photos of their prop building progress. Given that most images only need to be viewed by others at a small scale, I use thumbnails within posts. If anyone needs more detail, they can expand the thumbnail into lightbox, but generally, having thumbnails keeps everything tidy, preventing image heavy posts from taking up acres of space.
However, there has been one thorn in my side for at least the last six years... the fact that if photos are attached but not manually placed (by the poster), they are positioned by default in a vertical column, which takes up space and looks really untidy...

I then have to edit the post and remove all the returns to get the thumbnails to display in a (more pleasing and) compact row...

As you can see, rows take up much less space and are far easier on the eye.
Would it be possible, at some point, to add in an option to choose how thumbnails run, within a post? This would save me hours of editing.

Askancy got a reaction from ThunderBlue in String for copyright in translations and tool for difference
All products from themes to applications can add copyright, except translations.
All other products from XenForo, vBulletin, phpBB etc provide a string to insert the copyright of the translation, it would be nice if IP.Board also thought about the translators every now and then...
Also you have the tool that shows the differences in themes from version to version, why not do something for the translation system as well?

Askancy got a reaction from Hambalie in Introduce tour and modal for the new features
I appreciate all the new things you are introducing, but in my opinion you are taking too many things for granted.
Not all users who use and administer a forum are aware of special features you have added, and often in doing some testing, they cause errors.
Many Italian users contacted me to ask for explanations about Data Layers, they saw this new feature with 0 explanations.
Why is it that when you introduce a new feature and a user enters the dedicated page, you don't give a tour of the page, whereas for simpler features (ex. Stock Replies) even a simple modal explaining what it is and if there is a need points to a guide on invisioncommunity.
    example:

A 'Publish immediately' moderator option could be useful - a decision may be made to make a number of topics (set for future publishing) immediately available. Select them in the topic list, click a button and confirm is quicker than editing them all manually

As Daniel said, that hash indicates that the user is not logged in. Check cookies if the cookie is saved correctly.
I did the integration years ago so I don't remember precisely, but you will see on the IP.Board constants.php file you have to indicate the Cookie Domain and the path, here is my configuration:
    \define( 'COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'MainDomin.ext' ); \define( 'COOKIE_PATH', '/' ); Because otherwise IP.Board cookies will be only for the subdomain

I for my project with Laravel 9 decided to use the user management of IP.Board, the user logs in from the forum and has full access also to the portal in Laravel, like commenting articles.
To make Laravel communicate with IP.Board just call the file init.php in AppServiceProvider.php
    class AppServiceProvider extends ServiceProvider { public function register() { // } public function boot() { $path = base_path('../forum.***.ext/'); require_once $path . 'init.php'; view()->composer('*', function ($view) { \IPS\Session\Front::i(); }); To get user data on a laravel blade I use:
{{\IPS\Member::loggedIn()->name}} I hope this can be a starting point to help you develop what you want.

    You can do this.

    1: Delete all posts
    2: Annoymise all posts
    3: Delete PMs/Messages
4: You can unsubscribe from emails, too.
GDPR only requires you to delete identifiable information.

If a person has the form selected and clicks submit or presses send, it sends a blank message, whereas it should behave like the message application and not send anything...
In addition, live messenger should not be shown if a user is not logged in

    Hi @Kirill another little advice.
If one has a forum configured as PWA and has devised a bar with tabs to browse the forum, the messenger bar takes up the whole string...

It would be nice to have a setting where you can choose whether to have this messenger tab in the footer, or in the right/left side of the page so it's not annoying, That follows the scrolling of the page, but is not disruptive.
    example:

    Hello, @Askancy!
New 1.0.1 version is waiting for approval and in this version I have added a setting to disable this floating block. Perhaps in the next versions I will add the ability to customize the position of the block on mobile, thanks.

I honestly don't like to take users out of the community, already with the arrival of Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Telegram, the life of the forums is increasingly difficult.
However, the implementation of Telegram with IPS could be useful to notify users in the case of new messages, using it as a sort of push notification, perhaps via an IPS bot.

It would be useful to expand the topic reporting function for user profiles as well.
Very often lately IPS Spam errs and gets numerous spammers to sign up, but it errs really often...
Even now a spammer has registered on this forum who has been following me, the report button would have been really helpful to alert you of this unwelcome user

Askancy reacted to Mark H in Cancellation of subscription not possible - support is asking me to provide passport copy to cancel?
We are simply following our internal security policy in asking for proof that you are who you claim to be, nothing more than that. We aren't trying to strong-arm you into renewing. 🙂
Asking us to cancel an account. when the request comes from an email which is not associated to the purchase at all, is something we cannot do without proof. This protects both the integrity of your account, and us, from malicious actors.
Since you said the email used to register can't be used, we asked for an alternative way to prove your identity, in the form of a government-issued identification. (You did previously reply, "If you allow any other verification, please do let me know." We did offer the alternative method, which you indicated you were not comfortable doing.)
This has been policy for a very long time when an email address expires or is deleted, and we receive a request to cancel an account, license, or package. I'm sorry you feel this is not an acceptable way to do this.
That said, if you've removed your credit card from the Client Area, any renewal would go unpaid and eventually expire on its own.

I definitely consider this not working as intended too and it's something I frequently deal with.
It frustrates my customers and me personally. I can't see why anyone would want it to work this way.
You have subscription options available monthly and annually, and once someone has opted for a monthly subscription, they can never let that subscription expire and opt for an annual one instead?
That makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever. I can't think of a single platform anywhere on the internet that operates this way.
IPS, I've said this many times before, I like you guys and all, but sometimes you are way too hardheaded when it comes to addressing things none of your customers actually want.
