This, or even better, do it like vB did it, make security updates available to every release version.

You might try searching google for "Store" and "Powered by Invision Community".
We've used Commerce (Nexus) for almost a decade with great success:
    https://www.trifectaperformance.com/
Our use case might be considered a "simple" implementation, but given Commerce runs on IC's framework, the sky is the limit if some functionality that doesn't exist is needed.

    In 2017 I paid 550$ for this:

Now it's increased near 50%, the renewal went from 190$ to 280$ / year.
For me, the price increase is still bearable, as long as my income from the forum does not drop significantly. But for hobby communities, such prices are probably harder to bear. By the way, these hobbyists are free advertising media for Invision, as they promote their product. Ultimately, new forum operators orientate themselves on the platforms in which they themselves are active. If they disappear from the market, this advertising also disappears. Another very important aspect is the existing add-ons of a forum platform provider, these are and always have been a driving force for a successful community, see vBulletin. Some developers have already spoken out about the price increases. If this price increase causes them to turn away from Invision, this will also lead to lower licence sales in the long term. So this new development could lead to a downward spiral.
I don't understand why developers as important as openfont and Adriano have to pay licence fees at all, because without them Invision would certainly not be where it is now. Without developers, without high quality addons, no customers, to put it bluntly. Just because of a few hundred dollars more revenue you risk losing everything you have built up over the years. This is not a wise decision because the developers are the be-all and end-all of any successful forum platform.

I said in the Stock Replies announcement  that I would stop supporting this resource but I won’t. IPS new feature uses stock replies added by the admin on Admin CP.
My resource is per user basis. The users creates, on front end, the replies they want to use.
    I’ll keep this alive.

After a quick and dirty calculation, you even win if you lose 30% of your customers. So, from a financially viewpoint it's a good business decision. And another plus, your support effort will be reduced too Congrats.

The new support option via forum could even be a better system if the support team is picking up urgent issues as quick as known from the ticket support. Especially when my forum has an outage because of upgrade errors or other issues. A knowledge base of known issues is something I miss hardly. So, take this chance and convince us. Thanks for this open discussion Matt. And please consider the benefits for devs in your next meeting.

This was not meant negative. Just an example how urgent help topic can look like.
Me, personally, I hate ticket support in most cases 😄 I like community support:
Searching before ticket can give a fix within minutes. Writing down and waiting for support can take hours. See if the issue is a known bug. When a support thread becomes hot or there are many similar threads, I can see that the issue is a bug and just wait for solution instead of ... you know, writing down 😄 Get several ideas, brainstorming. While waiting for solution, I get answers from community, that probably do not contain a solution, but kepp me busy (I hate waiting).  Just browsing through threads a while. It's a kind of permanent knowledge update for me.  1 and 2 save IPS support time that is (hopefully!) invested into developing new features 😉
Even if I can understand the reasons, why others would like ticket support, I am happier with community support.

There is also a hidden staff note at the top of the topic with a link to the support ticket. We also logged a "Follow up" reminder to revisit the topic and ensure that the issue was resolved.

There's a lot more going on behind the scenes than you may think. 🙂

Not just the current developers but how you can better foster the next cadre of programmers who might one day be great candidates to join your firm one day.
Provide a crippled version of the suite to develop on and allow for one or two people to test the apps being developed but not be able to be used to run an actual site off of.

A lot has been said in this topic so I will just put my 2 cents in @Matt:
Do anything in your power to keep talented developers like Adriano, Michael J., Nathan, InvisionHQ, CodingJungle and others happy. They are the reason we use IPS, stock version will never fit everyone's needs. That's why those developers are so useful and important to have. Without them my communities fall apart. Should have communicated price change sooner. Allow those who want to renew at least once using old pricing. I know I would have taken advantage of this and renewed immediately. Now for a price three times bigger - not so much. I also want IPS to succeed but you seem to be causing the opposite all thanks to everything we have been seeing lately.
P.S. I hope native video uploading and support will not be once again made exclusive to cloud hosting just like Zapier was before all the backlash. Once you start going SaaS route I'm afraid you will loose even more customers.
