I love the Forums software. I have used it for decades. The price is a bargain. But please let me be so bold as to say that the number of bugs introduced with each new version is almost unacceptable. Look at all the poor operators of boards who have substantial issues with the latest version who post in this forum with crisis situations that have brought down their income stream, caused great consternation among their users (who are community members often very invested in the forums through their time or money), or both. Running IPS 4.5 and yesterday I updated my PHP to 7.4 from my server using/from MultiPHP manager (do not have PHP selector) anyway saved and that's all I had to do. Meanwhile in the ACP it's still saying it's running v7.1.14 and so then when I added code to .htaccess to run the new PHP 7.4 the site goes into a 500 error. Yet in the .htaccess file there is no old code to be edited or removed.

Need an installation debug guru!! Upgraded to 4.5.2, set up the Marketplace and tried upgrading out of date apps. They error out with basically the same message: Extraction from phar "/tmp/IPSMP9XoNAU.tar" failed: Cannot extract "Application.php" to "/usr/home/*****/public_html/*****_forum/applications/classifieds/Application.php", setting file permissions failed I've reset the file privs to 777 in the classifieds dir for testing, same error. The classified publisher says it's an IPS error, IPS says it's a ISP error. ISP need more info as what is wrong. And I'm dead in the water. If Redis is what IPS recommends, then why can't IPS let it be a recommendation, instead forcing clients to switch over? If Memcached is performing better than Redis for some users and they are comfortable with that (including myself as I host multiple servers and clients' IPS sites), or those clients who don't have Redis on their server due to their Host restrictions; then why to simply deprecate it? My say: Please do NOT deprecate Memcached.

I just upgraded to version 4.5 and took the opportunity to update php to version 7.4. Redis has stopped working. It was in version 3. I saw now that Redis is in version 6. Is version 6 compatible with IPB 4.5? On the control panel you are seeing an error message: Caching is not working correctly. Review your caching method configuration and adjust the settings as needed.

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anybody has any experience or potential "DO NOT DO THIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES" warnings with using an auto-scaling network of identical web servers to host Invision, so a load balancer directing traffic to one or more servers behind it, with the number of servers changing depending on the traffic volume? I'll be using AWS but I guess the same would be feasible on other cloud platforms. I think I'd put the codebase on a volume that would be shared and mounted on all of the servers, with assets served from S3/CloudFront. Any suggestions or ideas welcome!

I am mid upgrade from 4.4 to 4.5 and getting this error, I am not server guru as I recently moved my site from cloud to self hosted and learning as I go but absolutly stumped with this. I searched online for a fix but I need something in a bit plainer english than the tech sites have Row size too large. The maximum row size for the used table type, not counting BLOBs, is 8126. This includes storage overhead, check the manual. You have to change some columns to TEXT or BLOBs/home/rockokym/public_html/system/Application/Application.php::1667

I have made some path changes over the years, so some images are now in differend folders. To fix broken images in posts, i have done this in htaccess Redirect 301 /forums/public/style_images/ /public/style_images/ Redirect 301 /forums/images/ /images/ Question (maybe stupid one), does that make page creation any slower?

After updating core to 4.5 my own custom app has problems. In ACP, in my ACPs app modules, when i put some &request to URL there appears an CSRF error. Hey all, I need some help with an already installed IPS and moving the database to an external server. Hello, My website is currently offline as my database is full. I'm unable to access the Admin panel or PHPmyAdmin. I think this is due to the database containing the UT8 conversion back-up table after the upgrade to IPBoard 4. I think that might itself might be large in size. Is anyone able to tell me what that table would be called so i could direct the webhost technicians to delete? And if it would indeed contain a large size?

Can anyone please help in finding why IPB is unable to connect to Redis server? Constants.php is updated with correct details and still receiving these errors. Redis ping pong working Background Info: Few weeks back sever restarted gracefully and corrupted the disk caching template and halted whole site. After a while disabled the template caching by @DawPi advise and site came back online. But Redis is still not communicating with IPB - I assumed due to server restart, perhaps. I need a way to allow my members to easily upload images to my forum but I'd like them to be 3rd party hosted. I used to run a plugin on Mybb from imgBB that added a button to the post editor that would open an upload window that actually attached the images right to the user's post! It was pretty sweet, but I can't seem to get it working for IPS. Does anyone know of an IPS plugin or any 3rd party plugins that would work on IPS 4.4?

Ok... I'm working on an external script. I need to display my user groups along with their names, which I have seen isdone in places such as the advanced search page. But I don't seem to be able to get this working- whenever I'm trying to output the group names, it's returning what looks like MD5 hashes which change on each page load. I'd like to be able to use the IPS Editor on my own site, where I have several textareas etc. But I've spent a very long time looking and I simply can't find the code for it anywhere in any of the files. The most I've been able to find is including the CKEditor javascript fo it to work, @ applications/core/interface/ckeditor/ckeditor/ckeditor.js. I've checked in templates, PHP files, all sorts. I just can't find it. I know it needs to be customised so I expect in some way I'll need to run a PHP file in order to get the editor working. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I should be looking?
