Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. Please move if that's better. I'm absolutely thrilled with IPS and what it is opening up for our site, and I'd like to move all messaging to the IPS software. Currently, my developer has created an area in our pin trading database where members can select a pin(s) to make a trade offer with another member. He has a small text box come up where the member can write a note, and then that generates a started message in the sort of chat system we are subscribed to now. We'd like it to generate a message in the IPS inbox. Is there some documentation on how a message is created in IPS? That way, my developer may be a…

I have an existing forum that serves us as a Q&A forum but is currently type 'Discussions'. I'd like to be able to change it over to type 'Questions' to get question/answer voting, but am concerned about the implications of changing the type. There are currently ~500 topics in the forum, what would happen to the existing content?

I have a private club meant for moderators only but the new RSS feed I created is listing topics from this private club. This is a serious security issue. The new feed I created does not have any options for Clubs. Is there a way to disable the Default RSS feed (Discussion Latest Topics feed)? Please advise...

Hi team, I need to make "Launches" 3 times at year and I've 5 membership levels (with initial price for a course) and monthly renewals for community access. So when we are on launch time we should show all subscriptions to sell for new members. But when we aren't in launch time we only show renewal subcription to old members that bought any subscription level any time. If I disable "allow purchases" in every subscription take this function only for one subcription bought, but not for the rest. And I can't create new subscriptions for a limited groups. So, do we have any way to make this function? Thanks a lot!

How to change the title "Registration Terms" on Terms of Use page to "Terms of Use"? Is there a language/strings Settings page to change this? The terms should "always" apply even to view the site as a guest rather than apply only for registration. 2) How to add links in the Footer for Terms, etc?

As the title says, I'm wondering if it's possible to assign "guest" posts to a community member. I sometimes need to do this when a member leaves, their content gets converted to "guest" status, and then they decide to return some time later with a new account. I've also just come across a rather bizarre situation where a long-time member created a thread, and then several of his posts in that thread were attributed to "guest". We don't allow guests to post, so I have no idea how this happened, but I'd like to assign those posts to the actual member who made them if possible. Is it possible? Kev

Hello Seems like I am paying for three domains again and this has been going on this year- I have and need only 2 - fjellforum and fjelltrimmen. This has been an issue earlier as well - so I need a refund for Order #925410 · and Order #941857 (total 210 usd) . I Please sort that out for me. Is there a way to prevent avatar/profile images from displaying for guests? I ask because there's a few avatars on my site that are of bikini clad women, nothing containing nudity or anything like that, but the Google AdSense system thinks they're 'porn' and I constantly get 'nasty grams' from them telling me that ad serving to particular pages is disabled due to sexual content. I dispute it for a manual review and they reverse the action. Not a real big deal, but annoying. If I can prevent AdSense from seeing the images, problem solved. But I'm not seeing any settings that might accomplish this. Is there a way to do this?

Hi All, just put our Invision site live today and getting some great feedback. However, we set up a bunch of Clubs (based around geographic areas) and created a Blog entry for each Club in the AdminCP - using an administrator account. But now when our Club owners try and "Manage Group" and "Edit this blog" they get an error saying "The page you are trying to access is not available for your account." Has anyone got any suggestions about how to fix this. Each of the owners is in a moderator group with restricted access, but has blog creation rights turned on. Administrators with unrestricted moderation are able to click "Edit this blog" and can edit …

Hello, I have a database with multiple fields of the type "Editor." I would like to transfer all the Editor fields to a forum topic when it is published, but only one field is being transferred. Is there anything that can be done about this? Problem 2, the search function only considers the main field and not the other fields of the type "Editor." Can that be included in the search? Do any of you delete older topics that are unhelpful? Sometimes, doing a Google search for a topic returns a 15 year old (archived) topic that contains an unanswered question, when we have that same topic resolved in other, more recent threads. I am wondering if it would help to simply delete those topics? And, more generally, if it would help deleting topics that do not contain anything helpful to our community?

I added Terms content to the Terms & Privacy page in AdminCP and now it redirects the users to Accept Terms page right after login and there is no way to get out of it unless the Accept button is clicked. Even if I try to surf to /logout page, it does not log out but stays on the Terms page. Where is the setting to turn OFF the "Force users to accept Terms" that redirects new users to terms page after login? I added {terms} to the Text to Show for Guests and it displays the Terms notification with Accept button in the footer nicely and non-intrusively as expected. It is ideal to display the Terms with Accept button in the footer similarly for ALL logged-in users …
